for while now i have bad neck pain it seems to be coming from middle of my neck when the pain arrives it makes me very dizzy and can knock me of balance..its not very nice when this pain is hitting me...

Hi all, My mum has extremely painful Osteo and Rheumatoid Arthritis accompanied with Fibromyalgia. She is in constant pain and meds are not really working for her. with all this going on, it's causing her to have sleepless nights, trouble moving and depression, causing weight gain (obviously making it worse). It feels like a vicious circle. Her GP keeps putting meds down her neck and they're not working. I was hoping that someone could offer some advice or suggestions to help her out.

My doctor has me scheduled for an Endoscopy next month, but in the mean time my glands on my left side of my neck are swollen and I have sharp pains from my neck to the back of my head......duration for a few seconds at the time very sharp beying my ear. thanks for the imput Tuck. Well the theory is, as far as the doc (internist is concerned) is that my brain is still out of whack and interpreting pain when it's not there. Signals between spine and brain. I basically hurt my neck/ spine and since they can't see anything wrong, they conclude some kind of imbalance. SO the cymbalta for them is a god send as far as I am concerned both in terms of pain and ocd/gad.

I have to keep on moiturising every 2 to 3 hours and that becomes painful. Scarring on both of my hands, chect, face and neck. Neck and hands have alot of keloids which is erstricting my movement. My husband has constant pain down his arms - it is not tendonitis. He has had it for several years now and done all sorts of treatments - injections of blood into his arms, cortizone into his arms, chinese remedies, massage for his back, chiro. Nothing shows up on arm xrays or ultrasounds. He has now had a back xray done and they believe that 3 or 5 of his vertebrae were fractured and healed together wrong, causing pain up into his neck and down his arms. Where does he go from here?

Take pain relief medication as directed on the packet. If you have a heat pack use that, if not and you have a hot water bottle, fill that up and cover it with a towel and put that on around the neck area that is sore and stiff. Keep away from any draughts. Draughts are caused when there are apertures open at opposite directions. Don't have all the windows or the opposite windows open in the car. I am 3 weeks post-op today. I am experiencing a lot of stiffness and a throbbing pain on the left side of my neck. I have very gentle treatment on my neck,every few weeks,pain killers hardly touch my pain..I am getting giddy spells,severe pain in shoulders neck and occipital area. I have also read if you have late adrenal deficiency it can make your cortisol drop even lower. I am doing the spit test to see. Is that reliable test?

so now im just thinking im gonna have a heart attack everytime i fell a pain or something. except that i also do physio treatments for neck pain, the doctor i saw said its a disk but i didnt have an mri. and today all of a sudden i have this tingling sansation like something is crawling on me. what is that now? did have blood and thyroid tests though and everything is normal except low iron. i also saw a lot of doctors that said my heart is fine and its all in my head.

I currently refer to my neck as "popcorn neck." It crackles when I move it, and while that could be Father Time marching on, the correlation between the loudness of my neck and illness makes me think it's more likely Lyme related. After I started treatment, I did notice a worsening in neck pain (which is now gone, it's more just stiff/loud now).
