Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol outcomes data

bystolic

Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
Avatar m tn No one treatment improved all examined outcomes and few assessed complete response or sustained outcomes (i.e., at >6 months off treatment). HBV DNA clearance was assessed using assays with different sensitivities to detect HBV DNA. Adefovir and lamivudine increased HBV DNA clearance at end of treatment versus placebo. Entecavir increased clearance versus lamivudine with inconsistent effect size.
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
Avatar f tn Teak and LiZzie also sent lots of data which confirms zero risk of hivthrough oral sex. How come Dr HHH says low or minimal risk?
233488 tn?1310693103 Lucentis, Avastin equivalent Second year results from the Comparison of AMD Treatments Trials (CATT) are consistent with first-year data. At two years, the head-to-head comparison of ranibizumab with bevacizumab shows visual acuity with monthly treatment was slightly better than with as-needed dosing, regardless of the drug. Monthly treatment resulted in a mean improvement of about half a line better than as-needed dosing.
Avatar n tn A review of mefloquine use in pregnancy, from clinical trials and reports of inadvertent use of mefloquine during pregnancy, suggests that its use at prophylactic doses is not associated with adverse fetal or pregnancy outcomes. Because of insufficient data regarding its use during pregnancy, atovaquone-proguanil is not recommended to prevent malaria in pregnant women. Avatar f tn I never advise a pt. to do much internet surfing ..... there is so much information out there that only applies in one or two cases. I think you would be well advised to discuss your concerns about "mammosite" with your Radiation Oncologist in detail. I'm quite sure that in certain instances there may be complications just as in every form of Medical Treatment.
Avatar n tn The experience with radiation shows conflicting data, on the average, patients do seem to do better, but if the target is 5 year survival - radiation did not seem to impact. In contrast, surgery shows better outcomes considering the average patient survival, and the 5 year survival. Current data cannot say whether surgery really is superior to radiation - however, with current experience - radiation cannot be recommended as equivalent to surgery.
Avatar n tn It sounds like some patients are less well after the procedure than before the procedure. Are there national efforts to collect data on patient outcomes so that risks can continue to be lowered and outcomes can improve and be uniform?
Avatar m tn With some luck we may see in immediate viral kinetics of the first days and weeks of the trial, not just a the 4 week outcomes. The 24 week outcomes will also be of interest, but to my knowledge these will be for people who did not meet the 4 and 12 week goals; we will see. willy ======================================================== http://finance.yahoo.com/news/New-Data-on-Telaprevir-and-bw-203373230.html?x=0&.v=1 CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
Avatar n tn While it is reasonable that therapy on an area where cancer is believed to exist may improve outcomes (and for other cancers, this has been done, so selected women with breast cancer get equivalent outcomes without needing to remove the entire breast), the actual available data involves largely case series of patients who were never compared with other therapeutic options (hence the data is for frank cancer, not an atypical biopsy). Hence, the merit of the procedure is not really known.
Avatar m tn My doctor just recommend a new med called nebivolol (bystolic) to me thst im pretty hesitant to try as propranolol does help Most out of what ive tried. The nebivolol bystolic didnt get the besr reviews from what ive seen. thats just my experiences and what things have worked and not worked for me on an individual basis. I feel some of my pvcs are caused by anxiety, some by exercise or increase in working out and some by large meals.
969031 tn?1247605594 Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) occurs more commonly in women than in men and often affects women of childbearing age. Many of these women wish to have children, yet there are little reported data on the outcomes of pregnancy in patients with POTS. To date there has been one report of two patients with POTS who successfully completed pregnancy. We report the outcomes of 22 women with preexisting POTS who became pregnant.

Avatar m tn Action Points * Note that this study was published as an abstract and presented at a conference. These data and conclusions should be considered to be preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal. * Note that this study suggests that patients with chronic hepatitis C who achieve a sustained virological response have an excellent long-term prognosis and are extremely unlikely to experience relapse, hepatic decompensation, or hepatocellular carcinoma.
Avatar m tn Im 17 and doctors say i have hypertension, which i start to panic when someone checks my bp with heart rate monitor. I am currently drinking nebivolol and i want to know if this medicine will stunt growth?
Avatar f tn Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I'm sorry about the late reply. There is little data about the effects of how influenzae in the mother affects the baby. There is some information that the virus can cross the placenta and affect the baby, but not all babies are affected in this way. The information about outcomes is also scarce: some studies have suggested the possibility of increased developmental problems while other studies do not confirm this.
Avatar f tn Patients with hepatitis C have a 20% to 30% increased risk of developing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and a 3-fold higher risk of developing Waldenström's macroglobulinemia, a low-grade lymphoma.
Avatar n tn It is a common side effect with Nebicard (Nebivolol) so perhaps it might be worth asking your Doctor to prescribe a different brand.
