Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol medication

bystolic

Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
Avatar n tn I used to have chest pains every couple of weeks and maybe once a year that was so painful I would go to the ER. Doctors could never find anything wrong-had every test you can think of. I was on medication for HBP. The cardiologist was pretty much at a loss. I went to my family Doctor who I have only been seeing about a year. He noticed that the few times I have seen him my heart rate was always >then 100BPM. He put me on 5mg of Bystolic once a day. My chest pains are history.
Avatar m tn Im 17 and doctors say i have hypertension, which i start to panic when someone checks my bp with heart rate monitor. I am currently drinking nebivolol and i want to know if this medicine will stunt growth?
Avatar n tn I had a MI last October 2012. Since than I am on medication and there are no major problems. Only problem is I get tired easily and at times feel there in no strength in the body. Recently I have undergone 2-D Echocardiography. The impression of the report is as under: 1. Bi-Ventricular Systolic Function Adequate. 2. No Diastolic Dysfunction. 3. Inferior Wall Hypokinesia noted at Rest. 4. LVEF= 61% What does this suggest ? Is there anything to worry about? What further test required?
Avatar f tn Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I try being on a diet but know i am taking Crestor 20mg for triglicerides, and nebivolol 5mg for my bp. I have had some cases of high heart beat and doctors said its nothing to worry about. I had onew 12 years ago, 1one 8 years ago and one 2 yeears ago. They come and go within 10 minutes. Its something with my electrical paths of my heart but doctors said there is no need to worry for now.My docotr said that high bp is due to my sensitive character, and tryglicerides is gentics.
705966 tn?1239408751 Anyway, the offshoot is that you might be better off switching to nebivolol, which is a vasodilating beta blocker. A researcher named Cockroft is doing a lot of work in that area.
Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
Avatar n tn Bystolic (Nebivolol) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure. If you mean that you are taking Bystolic and it is causing you pain....and according to PCP and literate it should not....I agree with you. Our systems can respond differently then others do to medications. We are all different.
Avatar m tn My doctor just recommend a new med called nebivolol (bystolic) to me thst im pretty hesitant to try as propranolol does help Most out of what ive tried. The nebivolol bystolic didnt get the besr reviews from what ive seen. thats just my experiences and what things have worked and not worked for me on an individual basis. I feel some of my pvcs are caused by anxiety, some by exercise or increase in working out and some by large meals.
Avatar f tn i took it for about 14 mths for svt ,and i found it to be ok ,there are better ones for svt ,like neiblet{nebivolol} which is a more selective for the heart ,but inderal is known to be good for migraine as well...for the first few weeks just watch standing up quick and things like that ,it is better started on a low dose and moved up as needed,,but apart from that it seems to be well tolerated by most.
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
899454 tn?1295583938 My resting heart rate was around 80/90 bpm and when I was anxious above 120. The cardiologist put me on Bystolic (nebivolol) 2.5 mg a day. The med lowered my blood pressure (120/75) and lowered my heart rate (50+ bpm). I am in a way very pleased with the med. I another way I am now more aware of my PVC’s. Can it be possible that now that I have a more lower heart rate I am more aware of the PVC’s? Is it possible that when you are taking beta blockers you still can feel the PVC’s?
899454 tn?1295583938 I am an anxiety sufferer since 2004 (without medication). In November 2009 I suffered for a week the highest anxiety ever in my life. I could not sleep, eat or drink. I was shaking the whole time and had the weirdest thoughts in my mind. I had so much going on at work, home etc etc and could not cope with everything and broke down. I continued fighting it without medication but in February this year I lost the battle.
973068 tn?1248495289 under medication. Presently I am taking 10 mg nebivolol for B.P. I am also suffering from Avascular necrosis of left femoral head but doctors say there is no relation to this. I have udergone following diagnostic tests - 1. Chest X-Rays almost every year in early 04 years. 2. Echo, ECG, Stress test (TMT), engiography 3. All Blood, cholestrol, urin tests All the tests are normal.
715004 tn?1309077280 I was given nitroglycerin to see if that would help the chest pains. It did. Now, I was just put on a beta blocker, nebivolol (or something like that) for a rapid heart rate, and a high BP reading at the time. My BP is usually fine. I had an echocardiogram and everything was fine. Here's the confusion... I have no idea what is wrong with me, if anything. The doctors don't provide any diagnosis or give any clues to whether there is anything wrong at all.
Avatar m tn i dont know if its related but 2 weeks before it started i was took too hospital with a fast and irregular heart beat which is still occuring at rest my heart beat will jump from 70 bpm to 140 bpm i am under diagnosis of svp or svt not sure which but am controled with nebivolol (beta blocker) but only as of 2 months ago please someone help its not in my mind thanks
715004 tn?1309077280 I too take a BB, Metoprolol, but I don't have any your strange symptom. Have you studied the side effects listed for Bystolic? I note too that 5 mg sounds like a light dose, but I'm comparing to Metoprolol which I take 100 mg of each day. Your HR and BP look great, but I recommend you call your doctor and ask for his reaction to your "crawly feeling", s/he may change your medication. I doesn't sound like something one would want to have to live with.
Avatar m tn Two weeks ago I was taken into hospital, after many months of complaining of fatigue and dizziness, with a fast heart rate (up to 180 bpm) and was diagnosed with 'Irregular Atrial Fibrilation'. After an overnight stay and a drip to slow the heart rate I was put on Beta Blockers (Nebivolol 5mg) with asprin. So fas so good except I am still felling very tired with bouts of dizziness and shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was recently in hospital for initiation of new drugs for my inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The drugs (Ivabradine and Nebivolol) were successful while I was in hospital but since coming home I've been having complications.

4703993 tn?1379768388 I went to the electrophysiologist a few days ago and he told me that I have tried every conventional method to control the symptoms of POTS and the IST - so basically he was saying that I have not responded to any medication or my medication sensitivity did not allow me to take certain meds without horrible adverse effects...
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with the begining phase of HAshimoto but my thyroid test are still normal and working properly(no medication neaded).i made a stress test and doctor said is good. i went up to 10.2 Mets but i could go more but the doctor didnt let me.
