Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol in usa

bystolic

Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
Avatar m tn Hi, The medication's generic name is "Nebivolol". It's Brand Name is Nebilet, you may have the spelling off a little. From what I read, the drug "is a so-called vasodilating beta blocker. Thus, in contrast to traditional beta blockers, it is more patient friendly in that it maintains systemic flow and blood flow to target organs, lowers vascular resistance, and has very little, if any, metabolic adverse effects," Messerli explained.
Avatar n tn Hi GranRon- I just started taking bystolic about two weeks ago. While I'm on a very low dose (2.5mg/day), it still seems to be pretty effective in keeping me out of A-fib. I've been on metoprolol before, and had some awful side effects with that one, but the bystolic seems to tame those down quite a bit for me. I've only had two instances in which I could tell I was experiencing some slight side effects (dizziness, slight shortness of breath, pressure).
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
Avatar m tn But now his condition is worsening gradually. He is feeling very weakness in his whole body and feeling restlesness pain in his two leg.Now we are in very difficulty please help us out for certain treatment.
Avatar m tn 25 mg extended release, which is obviously not enough, though I feel great in terms of strength and alertness and stamina, that were all seriously diminished when I was taking Propranolol. So, now I am wondering: I definitely need to go up at least to 50 mg, but should I do a 50 mg Metoprolol once a day, or can I take the 25 mg tablets twice a day (every 12 hours).
705966 tn?1239408751 I think that degree of heart-rate reduction is normal for beta blockers, of which atenolol is one. Should you be concerned? Well, as you say you have no symptoms. But there is another angle at work here which is not that well known yet. It probably is more than you wanted to know, but I'll post it anyway because maybe some of the regulars might find it interesting. It has to do with the concept of central blood pressure.
Avatar m tn t think i have found a post that said HIV was rare in the USA. What I have found in previous posts was the doctors saying that hiv was rare in heterosexual women, rare in sex workers in America, or she probably don't have HIV or something like that. What im wondering is this, in that website that ww2008 sent me it says there are around 1,000,000 to 1,200,000 people living with hiv/aids in the US.
Avatar m tn where can I get tested? Is allowed to visitors get tested in USA? which Identification document could be required? How much could it be? is 55 days after exposure time enough for getting tested?
Avatar f tn Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn Im 17 and doctors say i have hypertension, which i start to panic when someone checks my bp with heart rate monitor. I am currently drinking nebivolol and i want to know if this medicine will stunt growth?
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
Avatar f tn I try being on a diet but know i am taking Crestor 20mg for triglicerides, and nebivolol 5mg for my bp. I have had some cases of high heart beat and doctors said its nothing to worry about. I had onew 12 years ago, 1one 8 years ago and one 2 yeears ago. They come and go within 10 minutes. Its something with my electrical paths of my heart but doctors said there is no need to worry for now.My docotr said that high bp is due to my sensitive character, and tryglicerides is gentics.
Avatar f tn i took it for about 14 mths for svt ,and i found it to be ok ,there are better ones for svt ,like neiblet{nebivolol} which is a more selective for the heart ,but inderal is known to be good for migraine as well...for the first few weeks just watch standing up quick and things like that ,it is better started on a low dose and moved up as needed,,but apart from that it seems to be well tolerated by most.
715004 tn?1309077280 That would really be a direct effect of the drug. Nebivolol is a rare BB in that it also vasodilates... which is good because a non-dilating BB like atenolol is actually associated with *more* CVS events. It all has to likely do with what's called "central pressure". > It seems excessive to me to be taking meds everyday for the occasional high I'd agree with that. Why not trying propranolol, taken as needed?
Avatar f tn You are correct in that statement about it saying made in Canada. It leaves us here in a tough situation. For example, something can be made in China, but if a component of it (doesn't necessarily have to be the majority of it), or the packing (think Cereal) was made here, they can label it Made In Canada. Pretty wrong isn't it. It makes me so mad. There is legislation out there to enforce more accurate labeling, but so far our Congress hasn't done a darn thing about it.
Avatar f tn she is in Pakistan right now but she is coming over and will stay in nj but taking her anywhere in USA is not a problem also she have to get insurance as well once she ll get here

Avatar f tn Hello, I was recently in hospital for initiation of new drugs for my inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The drugs (Ivabradine and Nebivolol) were successful while I was in hospital but since coming home I've been having complications.
Avatar f tn The cost is $6,000 and up, but Google the state that you are moving to, and it will tell you that state cost, and resources to help you pay for some of the cost.
4293524 tn?1358044300 I'm watching the Teleton USA and I start crying because I see how excited the kids and their parents get to finally have someone who can help them out since they are not financially stabled. My hormones are seriously driving me crazy. I cry for every little thing.
Avatar n tn Bystolic (Nebivolol) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure. If you mean that you are taking Bystolic and it is causing you pain....and according to PCP and literate it should not....I agree with you. Our systems can respond differently then others do to medications. We are all different.
