Nebivolol hydrochloride beta blockers

Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol hydrochloride beta blockers

bystolic

Avatar m tn Hi, The medication's generic name is "Nebivolol". It's Brand Name is Nebilet, you may have the spelling off a little. From what I read, the drug "is a so-called vasodilating beta blocker. Thus, in contrast to traditional beta blockers, it is more patient friendly in that it maintains systemic flow and blood flow to target organs, lowers vascular resistance, and has very little, if any, metabolic adverse effects," Messerli explained.
899454 tn?1295583938 Can it be possible that now that I have a more lower heart rate I am more aware of the PVC’s? Is it possible that when you are taking beta blockers you still can feel the PVC’s?
Avatar m tn Hi there, The Beta Blockers do tend to have a re bound effect if stopped abruptly rather than gradually. A slower weening off helps but you may still get racing heart and other symptoms. It should settle down over a couple of weeks at most. I had a similar story on a much higher dose, and ended up stuck on a small dose every second day still!
Avatar m tn I would try to find out why you have hypertension, though, and next time you see your doc see if they can tell you that and if you can treat it with dietary changes rather than medication. This drug is in a class called beta blockers that helps with your problem and with other heart irregularities and sometimes is used for anxiety as well.
Avatar n tn As Per pubmed The effects of diltiazem hydrochloride, a vasodilator often used to treat hypertension, and beta-blockers (pindolol and propranolol hydrochloride) on lipid metabolism and carbohydrate metabolism were assessed by measuring serum levels of total cholesterol, high-density-lipoproteins (HDL)-cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose in patients taking these drugs for three months.
Avatar m tn i dont know if its related but 2 weeks before it started i was took too hospital with a fast and irregular heart beat which is still occuring at rest my heart beat will jump from 70 bpm to 140 bpm i am under diagnosis of svp or svt not sure which but am controled with nebivolol (beta blocker) but only as of 2 months ago please someone help its not in my mind thanks
Avatar n tn Probably beta blockers if you are on them. If so, ask if you can come off or at least reduce the dosage.
Avatar n tn Further studies would be required to show that stroke is adequately reduced by these newer beta-blockers. In conclusion, beta-blockers should not be the first drugs of choice in the management of uncomplicated hypertension. They may be used in addition to other antihypertensive agents to achieve blood pressure goals. However, in patients with angina pectoris, a previous myocardial infarction, heart failure and certain dysrhythmias, beta-blockers still play an important role.
Avatar n tn I would like to find something that could be taken as needed to alleviate irregularities and does not lower heart rate as much as most beta blockers.
4703993 tn?1379768388 So he just prescriped me Digoxin - which he said he normally does not give to his patients with POTS and/or IST, but since I cant use beta blockers or calcium channel blockers, he wanted to give the Digoxin a try.... Anyways has anyone tried Digoxin and if so what were your experiences?
Avatar f tn SHe also gave me nebivolol hydrochloride 10mg a day.Does this drug interfere with my PSVT?Iread in internet that nebivolol is Beta 1 blocker and reduces hogh blod preasure.
Avatar m tn re on already, beta blockers reduce heart rate, reduce blood pressure and strengthen the heart, high bp can lead to all sorts of problem too, are you meds working?
Avatar m tn Although, the newer beta blockers don’t cause much narrowing of the bronchi/airways but still there’s always a risk especially when the dose of the beta blockers is high. I will suggest a beta blocker like nebivolol which does not cause much bronchoconstriction. Please discuss this with you cardiologist and maybe stopping the beta blockers for a few days will help you see yourself whether it leads to an improvement in the symptoms. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn It is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels and slowing heart rate to improve blood flow and decrease blood pressure. If you mean that you are taking Bystolic and it is causing you pain....and according to PCP and literate it should not....I agree with you. Our systems can respond differently then others do to medications. We are all different...and respond differently. If you feel this medication is causing you pain then insist upon a change.
Avatar m tn Two weeks ago I was taken into hospital, after many months of complaining of fatigue and dizziness, with a fast heart rate (up to 180 bpm) and was diagnosed with 'Irregular Atrial Fibrilation'. After an overnight stay and a drip to slow the heart rate I was put on Beta Blockers (Nebivolol 5mg) with asprin. So fas so good except I am still felling very tired with bouts of dizziness and shortness of breath.
Avatar m tn That can cause symptoms and is usually treated with beta blockers like you are on. For severe cases, different antiarrhythmics (with more potential side effects) can be tried. When that doesn't work electrophysiologists (cardiologists with special training) can perform an invasive procedure called an "ablation". If your holter demonstrated bigeminy it probably would have been interpreted that way. Bigeminy occurs when a normal beat is following by a PVC in a continuous pattern.
Avatar f tn m a female, but I can share my experience switching from a beta blocker to diltiazem. I have been taking beta blockers for 8 years for SVT and afib. I had an episode of afib and was in the hospital is Sept. They took me off the beta blocker and put me on diltiazem. It didn't control my heart rate like the beta blocker. My resting heart rate went from upper 60s to the low 80s. After a few days without my beta blocker, I ended up in the ER, in sinus tachycardia with a rate of about 120.
Avatar n tn Beta blockers are a class of drugs that block beta-adrenergic substances such as adrenaline (epinephrine), a key agent in the "sympathetic" portion of the autonomic (involuntary) nervous system and activation of heart muscle. So that being said, we can see why it helps with anxiety - it blocks epinepherine. It is also perscribed for many other things as well, from hypertension to hyperthyroidism (as mentioned above).
519035 tn?1348275773 Have any of you been on beta blockers for your hashi symptoms if so which ones, also, I have been having frequent attacks, but is it anxiety, or blood pressure actually raising from these attacks? Chest tightness and hearing loud racing pulse in ear. It feels like anxiety?????
