Nebivolol atenolol

Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol atenolol

bystolic

Avatar n tn I also tried metoprolol which was eventually replaced by atenolol. Both dropped my blood pressure somewhat, but also lowered my resting heart rate down into the 40's during sleep. I asked my cardiologist about discontinuing the atenolol and he said to decrease the dose gradually. I have not taken any meds for the last week and my resting heart rate is now in the 60's or low 70's and my blood pressure has not changed that much.
Avatar n tn I was told to have a catheter ablation after a stress test and I was given a sample nebivolol at a low dose instead of the other med, but it lowers my already normal 110/70 blood pressure to 88/61, and that bothered me. I felt dizzy and still had odd heart moments. Finally I tapered it down to nothing by June 15.
Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
899454 tn?1295583938 My resting heart rate was around 80/90 bpm and when I was anxious above 120. The cardiologist put me on Bystolic (nebivolol) 2.5 mg a day. The med lowered my blood pressure (120/75) and lowered my heart rate (50+ bpm). I am in a way very pleased with the med. I another way I am now more aware of my PVC’s. Can it be possible that now that I have a more lower heart rate I am more aware of the PVC’s? Is it possible that when you are taking beta blockers you still can feel the PVC’s?
4703993 tn?1379768388 For my heart we have tried Atenolol 12.5 (really small dose, but even with 10mg of Midodrene 3x a day my blood pressure would drop too low and the side effects were unbearable) .. so he concluded that I have a sensitivity to beta blockers.
Avatar f tn Went for catherter ablation but doctor in uk failed to induce arrythmia so no ablation could be done. Was put on atenolol for a while but kept getting PVCs over and again. 4 other sustained VT attacks followed in the next 5 years. All the time it would convert back to sinus normal after heart beating for over an hour at 240bpm. Got another attack after jogging 6 months ago. It was sustained and was controlled with amiodarone IV after 2 hours.
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s). I've been off the Nebivolol for five days, but I'm still experiencing these side effects. My heart rate has only come back to about 67-68.
715004 tn?1309077280 That would really be a direct effect of the drug. Nebivolol is a rare BB in that it also vasodilates... which is good because a non-dilating BB like atenolol is actually associated with *more* CVS events. It all has to likely do with what's called "central pressure". > It seems excessive to me to be taking meds everyday for the occasional high I'd agree with that. Why not trying propranolol, taken as needed?
Avatar m tn My doctor just recommend a new med called nebivolol (bystolic) to me thst im pretty hesitant to try as propranolol does help Most out of what ive tried. The nebivolol bystolic didnt get the besr reviews from what ive seen. thats just my experiences and what things have worked and not worked for me on an individual basis. I feel some of my pvcs are caused by anxiety, some by exercise or increase in working out and some by large meals.
Avatar m tn Im 17 and doctors say i have hypertension, which i start to panic when someone checks my bp with heart rate monitor. I am currently drinking nebivolol and i want to know if this medicine will stunt growth?
Avatar f tn Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn I lead a very health lifestyle and exercise daily. I was started on atenolol 50mg qd. Soon after taking it I developed bradycardia 48 to 52 and the BP went up to 160/96. Could this be a reaction to the medication?
Avatar n tn It is a common side effect with Nebicard (Nebivolol) so perhaps it might be worth asking your Doctor to prescribe a different brand.
Avatar f tn i took it for about 14 mths for svt ,and i found it to be ok ,there are better ones for svt ,like neiblet{nebivolol} which is a more selective for the heart ,but inderal is known to be good for migraine as well...for the first few weeks just watch standing up quick and things like that ,it is better started on a low dose and moved up as needed,,but apart from that it seems to be well tolerated by most.
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
Avatar m tn Hi Flycaster, Thanks for the reply - I'm female, taking Nebilet, which I think is called Nebivolol in the US? I spoke to a doctor and I'll get a blood test re the bruises, but she thinks it's unrelated to my cardiac history....? I am getting a catheter shunt first to treat the PDA to prevent heart failure, and then a catheter ablation on the Focal Atrial Tachycardia, which apparently has a very low success rate, but fingers crossed I'll be in that small percentile!
Avatar n tn What you are describing is pretty common on this forum and all of us have different conditions, ranging in severity. So you are not alone! Hopefully you will see the specialist soon and he/she can run some tests to figure out what is going on. If you pass out or feel close to it, head back to the ER. I wish I could tell you more, but there are different causes to the symptoms you are describing.
Avatar f tn Hi - I was just prescribed Atenolol for sinus tachycardia and episodes of SVT. In reading all the possible side effects, I am now scared to death of taking the atenolol. When I have the sinus tach my heart rate is around 140 and it lasts for hours. The SVT episodes are isolated and only last less than a minute. I usually cough and they seem to go away. My bp is normally 110/50. Is this atenolol going to help, or do I just put up with the tach and svt.
Avatar m tn I don't think atenolol can usually cause memory loss. It is less lipophilic than propranolol and is excreted by the kidneys besides.
Avatar m tn It was 104/66, which is kind of low for me. I take 25 mg atenolol at 6 pm every day for IST. Sometimes my blood pressure can run a little high. I worked out that night, lifted light weights for 1/2 hour. I have been working out a lot recently, using Heart Zones training. Today, I worked out at lunch for 20 minutes, got my heart in target heart range of 127-135 with a high of 148 for a minute. I got back to work and felt kind of light headed and rush of adrenalin, sweated a little bit.
554422 tn?1220575366 Hey everyone!Well I have been on atenolol on and off for the past 8 years...I was talking to my new cardio on the phone a week ago about how my blood pressure is still pretty high when I check it..and my heart rate will shoot up from time to time..He told me to increase my atenolol.Normally I take 50 in the day and 50 at night(however honestly I cut the night dosage to 25 because i kept having bigemeny)..
Avatar f tn hi, for the past six months i have been having these strong, irregular heartbeats, and i was recently diagnosed with sinus tachycardia. they could not find an explanation for the other irregularities (they did not show up on the holter). i was put on atenolol 25mg morning and night, and it's been working more or less, but i still have the irregular beats. sometimes, when i take a deep breath, my heart pounds really hard once before i exhale, or sometimes when i'm walking.
Avatar n tn Should atenolol be prescribed when one has high blood pressure and also irregular heartbeat?
