Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol and platelet aggregation

bystolic

476246 tn?1418870914 S ratios are increased platelet aggregation to thromboxane and clot ting activity of platelets is decreased and response to adenosine diphosphate aggregation is enhanced. Saturated fatty acids increase thrombin aggregation and platelet function can be decreased by altering diets. Platelets are important in clotting and in the development of the arterial thrombi that underlie most 'heart attacks' due to acute myocardial infarctions.
Avatar f tn In the in vitro study several cocoa flavanols and their metabolites were shown to inhibit platelet aggregation, P/M, P/N, and platelet activation. Their effects were similar to those of aspirin and the effects of a cocoa flavanol and aspirin did not seem to be additive. There was also inhibition of monocyte and neutrophil activation by flavanols, but this was not replicated by aspirin.
Avatar f tn Fish oil, an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid, may affect platelet aggregation and/or vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. The exact mechanism of interaction is unknown and further tests may need to be done. Prior to taking any supplements, it is best that you discuss this with your attending physician for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn anyone know if vitamin k2, not k1, has any negative effects on platelets ie thicken the blood, increase platelet aggregation or interact with aspirin that I take for coronary artery disease?
Avatar f tn Acute vitamin E toxicity effects include nausea, gastric distress, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, easy bruising and bleeding, inhibition of platelet aggregation, diplopia, muscle weakness, and creatinuria. According to the American Association of Poison Control Centers' National Poison Data System, in 2008, more than 60,000 acute or chronic vitamin overdoses were documented, with 8 major adverse outcomes and 0 deaths.
1654058 tn?1407159066 Quinine may not act solely as a hapten however, as we have shown that it inhibits platelet aggregation (ex vivo and in vitro) and release and modifies the ability of activated platelets to bind the adhesive proteins fibrinogen and fibronectin in a dose dependent fashion. Studies on the effect of quinine on the binding of monoclonal antibodies HuPlml (GpIIIa) FMC25 (GpIX) and AN51 (GpIb) to platelets shows a selective reduction in AN51 binding.
Avatar m tn Author information Abstract Mean platelet volume (MPV) is an indicator of platelet activation. Platelet activation and aggregation are central processes in the pathophysiology of coronary heart disease. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is present up to one-third of the general population and the majority of patients with cardio-metabolic risk factors such as abdominal obesity, type 2 diabetes and other components of the metabolic syndrome (MS).
Avatar f tn You could be one of the CFS patients who have chronic infections that affect platelet aggregation and hypercoagulation. But this can also occur for other reasons not associated with infections. You are correct that Hemex is the best lab to have this done, but it may or may not result in a new treatment direction. In terms of the heparin effect, it is not clear whether this is a coagulation effect or biofilm effect (heparin can affect some biofilms, so can Wobenzym).
Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
Avatar m tn Chlorogenic acid acts as an antioxidant, and neutralises free radicals, which damage the cells in your body. In addition, it inhibits platelet cell aggregation (sticking together) and needless blood clot formation in the vessels. This process can lower the risk of heart disease, and stroke. It can lower triglyceride level in the blood, fat tissues, liver, and the heart. Chlorogenic acid also reduces the cholesterol level in the blood stream, fat tissues, and the heart.
Avatar f tn mechanism of healing wound in is shot due to platelet aggregation and various other factors..and in hiv patinets.. healing of cuts ofcourse takes time than normal people...but not small cuts.. i mean it takes longer time to get perfect after surgery or to recover the inflammation.. and for small cuts u cannot measure the time..to see the watch when the blood clots..even how nourished are you and your food habit also effects in blood clot.. what hiv virus does is ..weakens the immune system..
Avatar n tn Hi Pacemaker leads can behave like a foreign body in the blood which can alter blood flow and increase turbulence which may lead to platelet aggregation and fibrin deposition which could lead to a blood clot formation. The presence of conditions such as hypertension, use of oral contraceptives, obesity etc can increase the chances of thrombosis (clot formation) in the body.
Avatar f tn Increased platelet aggregation too results in faster clotting. You must get your blood platelet count done along with bleeding time and clotting time. Other tests that need to be done are 'prothrombin time' and the 'activated partial thromboplastin time' (APTT or PTT). Liver function tests and both venous and heart angiography should be done to see the state of your blood vessels. Vitamin deficiencies especially Vitamin K should be looked into.
Avatar f tn I am taking nebivolol 5 mg for my high blood preasure and using viagra didnt had any side effect(serious) or interaction with nebivolol but im afraid.I get sometimes uppset stomach thats all.But i dont want to use viagra. Is there anything for PE?And not harmfull?Sometimes i thing that nebivolol has worsen my PE but i wasnt very good at it even before nebivolol. And what about DuraMale?Has anyone tried it before? Its a herbal drug for pe.
Avatar m tn The diet I am on is helpful for Nitric oxide and for endothelial health as well as providing some level natural ACE inhibition, and platelet aggregation inhibition, and is high in natural anti-oxidants. So, what will staying on 6.25 mg coreg and 10 mg pravastatin do for me in the long run? I would like to try going back to 3 mg coreg for a bit if my echo is good and drop pravastatin all together. and then assess everything after 6 months or so.
Avatar f tn Basically you have an autoimmune disorder and something increasing the platelet aggregation and thrombosis in the blood vessels. You also appear to be have iron deficiency anemia. The three conditions together are making you tired. While it is not good news as this may need urgent treatment, it can be treated and managed well. Please consult your doctor regarding this as soon as possible. Take care!
Avatar m tn Thus, nebivolol is, with regard to hemodynamic and metabolic properties, similar to carvedilol, although the two act slightly differently — carvedilol is a non-cardioselective beta 1, beta 2, and alpha-receptor blocker, whereas nebivolol is highly cardioselective (blocking beta 1 receptors only) and achieving vasodilatory properties by nitric-oxide release, he added." Apparently is was just officially appvoved for use in the United States by the FDA.
Avatar m tn Inflammation can also cause a rise in platelet numbers. Since there is some platelet aggregation going on, the actual number of platelets is actually somewhat higher than the reported number, and some of those clumps of platelets are being seen as odd-sized red blood cells (anistocytosis).
Avatar f tn Alcohol use could predispose to ischemic stroke, and intracerebral and subarachnoid hemorrhage via multiple mechanisms (for example via hypertension, atrial fibrillation, rebound thrombocytosis and platelet aggregation and clotting disturbances). The drugs most commonly associated with stroke are cocaine, amphetamines causing hemorrhagic stroke, but also over-the-counter cough and cold drugs containing sympathomimetics.
482754 tn?1341791494 However, the physician quickly changed his mind after a test revealed that plavix had 0% inhibition effect on platelet aggregation for me. I was told this was due to a genetic effect. Then the physician prescribed me with Effient. Since it is a new drug and it is Christmas time with early closing, . I had hard time locating a pharmacy which stocked Effient. It is early days yet so I don't know how well the combination of this drug with 320 mg aspirin is going to work.
Avatar m tn The doctor knew I had a prior heart attack, and I was on anti-platelet medication. The tooth had split in half and had to be pulled and fixed bridge was part of the procedure (no problem).
1013028 tn?1250923267 Patients with a lupus anticoagulant are prone to excess bleeding, repeated miscarriages, thrombosis and strokes. Patients with a lupus anticoagulant that presents atleast twice and a history of thrombosis should be given indefinite treatment with anticoagulants. Thrombosis can be prevented with heparin administration and treated with heparin and warfarin. If clots occur heparin followed by warfarin ( coumadin )is usually prescribed. Higher-than-usual doses of warfarin may be needed.
