Common Questions and Answers about Nebivolol and chf

bystolic

Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.
Avatar f tn I am taking nebivolol 5 mg for my high blood preasure and using viagra didnt had any side effect(serious) or interaction with nebivolol but im afraid.I get sometimes uppset stomach thats all.But i dont want to use viagra. Is there anything for PE?And not harmfull?Sometimes i thing that nebivolol has worsen my PE but i wasnt very good at it even before nebivolol. And what about DuraMale?Has anyone tried it before? Its a herbal drug for pe.
Avatar m tn Thus, nebivolol is, with regard to hemodynamic and metabolic properties, similar to carvedilol, although the two act slightly differently — carvedilol is a non-cardioselective beta 1, beta 2, and alpha-receptor blocker, whereas nebivolol is highly cardioselective (blocking beta 1 receptors only) and achieving vasodilatory properties by nitric-oxide release, he added." Apparently is was just officially appvoved for use in the United States by the FDA.
Avatar n tn I also took Bystolic at the 2 and 1/2 mg level a few days and then quit slowly because my bp was too low on it and I felt dizzy.
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
Avatar m tn My BP was well-controlled on 100 mg Losartin and 7.5 mg Amlodipine, averaging around 125/68. At peak exertion, during a treadmill stress test recently, my systolic BP reached 215. My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s).
323615 tn?1226193396 hi, my husband has end stage chf and he sleeps a lot, and all night,he seems exhausted all day, but no severe coughing.
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
Avatar m tn I have been through the nausea and vomitting, and severe swelling from the CHF, and now I do dialysis 6 days a week. Considering where I was a year ago, I feel healthy. I hope this helps......
898849 tn?1241811271 It is very important to get these shots especially if you have CHF. My mom had CHF and always got these shots. The pneumonia shot lasts 15 years. People who have CHF are more prone to getting pneumonia. It does not cover every strain of pneumonia, but covers quite a bit.
Avatar n tn At the ER last month, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and pneumonia based on a X-Ray, CT Scan, Pro-BNP test, and an EKG. My EKG was abnormal (enlarged heart, etc.) and my Pro-BNP test score was 4996, which from what I have seen, is very high. I was very swollen and my oxygen level was low (70%). They gave me a bunch of medications including a diuretic. All of this made sense when I looked into it, because I have EVERY symptom of CHF.
Avatar f tn I have COPD and CHF and had a stent put in two year's ago and found out it is now 60% blocked. I am concerned because I had been told because of COPD, not a candidate for surgery. So, my question is can they put another stent in or what or the possibilities now?
Avatar n tn Do you have a diagnosis of CHF? This is NOT meant to imply that you do, but it helps to better understand your situation regarding hemodynamic stability.
Avatar m tn Ive read so many warnings about the two together Im a mess worrying--Thank you * Hepkitty* I have been on valium 25 yrs so not a good time to quit it--Please tell me this is ok-- I sleep a lot but been thinking it is chf--I take 2 mgs in am and 2mgs in pm of valium and 120 mgs long acting Cardizem in am
Avatar n tn I agree 100% that you need to change doctors right away! First off if she only had time for one issue on this visit, she will only have time for one visit on the next!!! Your swollen feet and ankles could most certainly be from CHF and you don't want to fool around with that at all! Do yourself a favor and find an internal medicine physician. When you make the doctor appointment, ask them what their usual wait time is and you can bet if they tell you an hour or more, keep searching!
Avatar n tn My mom has CHF and her heart has a moderate EF and the doctor says that she should think about having a heart transplant. As scary as that sounds to her she is thinking about doing it. I want to ask if she doesent get it done than will she have a chance at living with heart for the next 5 years? And how secure is a Heart surgery..I am scared that she will not wake up and if so how well do people live after they have had a heart implant?
789402 tn?1243630044 you can go to the cleveland clinic website and actually pose direct questions about all this and any thing else i gather concerning CHF. he told me there is a cardiac nurse who answers all your questions, give it a try.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed in a ER with CHF a couple of weeks ago and the cardiologist I am to see is on vacation. I was placed on lisinopril, lasix, and propanolol as a preventive by my PCP while waiting. I have been coughing lately and I saw somewheres that coughing may be a lisinopril warning sign. Is this correct. I do not see the heart doctor until next friday for final diagnosis and future planning. Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn If a cat is on sub-q fluids for a short time and becomes very lethargic, isn't that a sign of possible CHF? And wouldn't or shouldn't a veterinarian recognize that and stop the fluids and do an x-ray?
Avatar f tn My 13 yr old dog is on medication for chf. She is taking enaliphrIL and lassix. It seems to be working for her. Her coughing has gone away and has been gone for 6 months, maybe coughing randomly every once in a while. Today when my husband and I got home we noticed she wouldn't get up and when she finally did her back legs weren't holding steady and she would fall over. We also noticed yellow foamy throw up on her bed.
Avatar f tn My dad had CHF and has been in the hospital for about a week now and they have been doing a lot of blood work and I have some of the result but haven't been able to pin the DR. down for a few minutes, I never seem to get there at the right time, hopefully someone here can help me. He has had CHF for about 10 years and the last 4 have been really bad , getting worse with time. He was admitted as 4+ edemiatic, CHF and Kidney issues.
Avatar f tn t believe it would say right then and there a patient is in CHF. A patient with CHF has the symptoms of the disease and tests such as a BNP would diagnose that. People aren't in CHF 24/7 ; they have periods where they go into CHF; there are times when a patient who has been diagnosed with CHF may be doing well.
Avatar m tn ) She was diagnosed 2 years ago with COPD, then CHF and pulmonary hypertension. She is currently using supplemental oxygen therapy 24/7 @ a rate of 5 - 6 LPM. What might be the benefits from a life expectancy perspective and a quality of life perspective as compared to the stress of a move to sea level, (Florida - high humidity)?
