1413519 tn?1281818201 He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results. Any guess of outcome would be appreciated. Thank you.
20904477 tn?1608092461 It is not a good idea to take steroid drops chronically or for a condition other than the eye doctor prescribed. Read the package insert there are many complications from ongoing steroid use including cataracts and glaucoma.
Avatar f tn I was finally able to find a surgical center to perform my cataract surgery (severe anemia). Began the moxifloxacin drops before surgery, no problems. After surgery, I started the Ketorolac and the prednisolone drops. Surgery was late Wednesday, took drops once, then on Friday morning, I awakened to a rash on both forearms that itch like mad and are on fire.

Avatar m tn For the cataract surgery, it is every 2 hours!!! Eye drops, eye drops and more eye drops. Then more eye drops for the dry eye that the other drops cause. On and on. No end.
177275 tn?1511755244 The agency said it received an adverse event report on August 14 from a physician whose patient was diagnosed postoperatively with bilateral HORV after being administered injections of a compounded triamcinolone, moxifloxacin, and vancomycin (TMV) formulation in each eye after cataract procedures that were done 2 weeks apart. Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, Inc, of Ledgewood, New Jersey, had compounded the TMV.
Avatar f tn It turned out I am allergic to the preservitives in the eye drops they gave me, they were changed for just steroid drops whithout preservitives but ever since I had the cataract removed I have suffered with a complete dry eye. This is bearable during the day as I put in tear drops but at night after being asleep for two or three eyes I wake up with my eyelid stuck to my dry eye. Its like tearing feeling if I try to open it without putting eye drops in first.

Avatar n tn Hi. My 2 yr old daughter has a slight lazy eye. We were given eye drops to use to help correct it. The directions were to use 1 drop in her eye once a day for 5 days. We did this for the first time 2 days ago, and her eye is still dilated, and we are worried. The drops we were given are Atropine Sulfate Ophthalmic Solution 1%. If her eyes will be dilated this long or longer with one drop, how are we to give them to her once a day for 5 days?
Avatar n tn I recently took him to the vet for this problem and he was diagnosed with follicular hyperplasia which is apparently where something gets caught under his third eye lid, irritates it and then nodules/small bumps grow underneath causing redness/discharge/discomfort. The vet said that eye drops would provide temporary relief, but only surgery would potentionally cure this problem. I haven't heard of this disorder and would just like another vet's opinion on.
Avatar m tn I consulted doctor he told I don’t have eye sight and he given “Tears Naturale, lubricant eye drops, Alcon” (Hypromellose, Ophthalmic solution ). But still I am facing same problem please advice me.
Avatar f tn He came home with OptiVet drops, antibiotic eye ointment, atropine ophthalmic ointment, and Rimadyl. He has not had the atropine ointment in about 48 hours and his pupil is still very dilated. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn First, the attendant placed some sort of yellow drops in my eyes that stung at first, and conducted some tests with bright yellow and blue lights. Then he placed dilation drops in my eyes and the doctor came in to conduct similar tests (with very bright lights, of course). As the tests began, I started to feel very nauseous and asked if we could pause for a moment. Then a ringing began in my ears and my body (particularly my eyes) began to feel weird. I quickly lost all vision.
Avatar m tn hey there, badgerMR. to be honest, i took metronidazol just one day after i took my azythromicine (i know, shouldn't self-diagnose), but I took them anyway. and it did not help. I know there's an alternative which is tinidazol but I'm just saying I did take antibiotics against MG myself and it did not help the symptom...
Avatar m tn doxycycline, azithromycin and moxifloxacin. The first two failed to clear my infection and now I have two days that I finished the moxifloxacin 400 mg( 10 days treatment) clearing my symptoms. My question is, Is it possible for the bacteria to reoccur after the moxifloxacin treatment? And if yes what other option are there?
Avatar f tn Hi i had a crainiotomy in 2007 for an unruptured aneurysm, even after 3 years my right side of my forehead and my right eyebrow dont move, this is getting more noticable as when i am tired the eyelid drops down even more, is there any surgical proceedures that can be done to correct this as it is getting worse??
Avatar n tn Have been using warm compresses and saline drops to try to flush out ducts. Antibiotics only help temporarily. Saw one ophthalmic surgeon who said it was allergic conjunctivitis as bacterial infection very rare. Saw second ophthalmic surgeon who confirmed ducts no longer blocked, who also injected saline into ducts. That night had blood in nose. Going to see ENT, could you please advise what tests I should have which could help to determine if there is a problem in nasolacrimal ducts.
Avatar n tn I went to the eye doctor and he examine the eye and stated that I had episcleritis. The first two weeks I was put on anti-inflammatory drops, which did not help. This past week I was put on Prednisolone and over the counter ibuprofen and it has help tremendously. However, I still have just a little redness. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn A recent study was done to show that Myco was only erradicated by 85% of those on the Azithro regiment described, however Avelox ( Moxifloxacin) killed Myco in all cases. Routine is to try described Azithro regimen first and if symtoms still exist Moxifloxacin. Why? I guess so that Myco doesn't become Moxifloxacin resistant. Save the bugs, kill the patient kind of thing. I say take the 400mg a day X 10 day regiment of Moxifloxacin and help yourself.
Avatar n tn Similar problem. Seen by neuro-ophthalmologist. Anesthetic drops and dilation drops applied. Effects worsened as the hours increased after dilation. Disabling blurred vision and photosensitivity for six days, along with dull ache in R eye, feeling of fullness/pressure in R eye, which continues, somewhat abated on day 8. Had revisit today. L eye refraction significantly down. I was advised to use artificial tears. No anomalies other than both cataracts, (which are mild), seen on re-exam.
Avatar f tn included are tobramycin eye ointment, moxifloxacin eye drops, and cephalexin. When I finally saw an opthamologist, he tried doxycycline (100mg BID x 7 wks) and erythomycin (TID for 3 months), which seemed to make the bumps shrink, but not go away completely. Anyhow, my real concern is that ever since I stopped the erythromycin eye ointment, my eye lids have been swollen and stingy...putting in artificial tears alleviates the problem for 2 hrs and it comes back.
Avatar n tn ve always had large eyes, over the course of the past two weeks my right eye became red and irritated and was not anywhere near as open as it was before, and so I thought it was just an infection, so I treated it at first with just eye drops and stopped wearing my contacts. After the redness persisted, I started using antibiotic ophthalmic eye-ointment; this made the redness stop. My right eye is still nowhere near as open as it was before, however.
Avatar f tn Cure rates with moxifloxacin are 100% According to some info I’ve found, and is used after Doxy and az. So id press to get moxifloxacin. moxifloxacin 400 mg daily for 7 to 14 days is the preferred antibiotic regimen.
Avatar f tn At that time, IOP was possible high (there was a sensation of tear, but the eye was dry), since I just finished using Vigadexa 5 days ago with dexamethasone, which often causes ophthalmic hypertension (total duration of admission is 3 weeks, including preoperative, surgical and postoperative period).
Avatar n tn The doctor instructed me to stop one of the eye drops he prescriped and wants to give it some time. Why would the pressure be high and shouldn't I be seeing better by now? I see half of what I saw prior to both the surgeries.
Avatar m tn But the doctor mentioned that my white blood cell count is slightly higher than normal ( WBC count taken from the swabs, not from my blood work) and mentioned that there might be an infection so she prescribed Avelox (Moxifloxacin), 4 x 400mg once daily. The background is, I am Chinese male, been with my girlfriend for about a year and both of us have been loyal and we were both asymptomatic before this event.
