avelox

Avatar n tn now only left moxifloxacin hasnt try, seems to be last resort. this bacteria already bothered me for 6 months, really want to get rid of it.
Avatar f tn Cure rates with moxifloxacin are 100% According to some info I’ve found, and is used after Doxy and az. So id press to get moxifloxacin. moxifloxacin 400 mg daily for 7 to 14 days is the preferred antibiotic regimen.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend got tested positive for mycoplasma genitalium. We have been together about year and a half (and he has not had sex with anybody else for about 2,5 years and then with a condom). Could it be that he got it even before that, so maybe 3-4 years ago and it didn’t show? And how is it possible that in november I tested negative for the same thing and we have regular sex? I am pretty sure he hasn’t cheated on me.
Avatar f tn I’ve been diagnosed w mycoplasma genetalium but I’ve been dealing w these symptoms of discharge, testicular pain, and burning sensation when peeing since March. I’ve taken zithro, doxy, Bactrim, over the summer. And lots of it. And recently I’ve taken cipro and a shot of rocephin. It was also recently that my test results from a swab culture came positive for mycoplasma when in the past urine tests always said i was negative for all STDs.
Avatar m tn t offer at the time and this test confirmed i have mycoplasma gen. He also took a swab to develop in the lab and he said moxifloxacin 400mg was fast effective to the bacteria but there was a part of the bacteria that was resistant. He still gave me a 20 day course and its been a week since i've finished it and yes the infection is still there. My symptoms is not as bad as some other sufferers, slight discharge in the mornings and tingles around the tip but not as much as before.
Avatar f tn However, as I now know there are multiple ones out there that have never been tested for. He had pain with urination and came up positive for mycoplasma genitallium. I have done doxy and azithromycin and still came up positive for mycoplasma genitallium and ureaplasma. my partner and I are finishing up 14 days on Moxi and I am still having cramping. My partner is still having testicular pain. So I’m guessing this didn’t work either.
Avatar m tn Worried, I tested for STDs which all came back negative except for mycoplasma genitalium. The Chinese doctor at the time said there was no need for treatment. Over time, I had more symptoms and they seemed to move from location to location in my body. Currently I suffer from: - pain near testicles, near epididymis.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I have been experiencing ongoing issues for a good long while now and have read comments from other members (particularly BadgerMG) regarding Mycoplasma Genitalium. I have been tested (by NAAT/PCR) for this infection specifically several times. I have been careful to make sure I have not been on any antibiotics and have taken first void urine after waiting at least 5 hours (that's about as much sleep as I get) only.
Avatar n tn Different bacteria can respond to different medication
Avatar m tn I first visited a Chinese STD hospital and tested positive for two forms of mycoplasma. I first took Doxycycline and then Moxifloxacin, neither one cleared up my symptoms. I will likely go to visit a urologist soon. I hope your problem was cleared up.
Avatar m tn The most recent course of Moxifloxacin I have finished was for suspected mycoplasma genitalium, although the tests came back negative when I was half way through antibiotics for it. However, after a few days of taking the anti biotics the tip of my penis was itching and red. When I went back to the clinic, the doctor said this whole time it has been Thrush and prescribed me a tablet + cream.
Avatar m tn 12 days after infection (04/17) I completed blood tests and urethra swab samples in a STD hospital and three days later the doctor told me I was infected with Mycoplasma. He did not explain more, just gave me Doxycycline x 40 pills (one in the morning and one at night) I am unsure what the dosage was. My symptoms went away instantly but about two weeks later (05/06) the symptoms returned mildly. I finished the Doxycycline and returned to the doctor on 05/21 and ran the exact same tests.
Avatar f tn I recently tested positive for Ureaplasma Urealyticum and Mycoplasma Hominis, my symptoms are - Frequent Urination. - Painful bladder that comes and goes - Pain in Groin Area - Tickle in throat that provokes a cough and mostly aggravated with dry Air. i have tried many different Antibiotics (Minocycline, Doxycycline, Zitromax) Anyone familiar with this painful infection ? Help ??
Avatar m tn Your situation is a difficult one and moxifloxacin has proven to be effective against chlamydia, mycoplasma genitalium and gets into the prostate well. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn If you have a persistent mycoplasma genitalium infection that has failed azithromycin and Moxifloxacin, urge your doctor to try Lefamulin (Xenleta). This is a new and very promising antibiotic and could be the hope those need for untreatable mycoplasma infections. Lefamulin is now available through Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy. Please look into this and demand that you try it.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. So this is a bit of a long story, but I'll try to keep it short and to the point. I went through a really tough time and I had a fling with a girl I didn't really know. We had unprotected sex and I'm now paying the price. I developed symptoms, burning & discharge, took Doxycycline prescribed for 1 week and test came back positive for chlamydia. I finished antibiotics, symptoms cleared. Came back and prescribed 1g azithromycin. Symptoms completely cleared again.
Avatar m tn I knew the first day waking up after taking the moxifloxacin and rifampin I feel that the reason this mycoplasma strain was so vicious and highly resilient was due to the fact it was breeding inside someone immunocompromised .
Avatar m tn Probably you have nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). Chlamydia causes about 30% of cases and Mycoplasma genitalium around 10%, trichomonas 5%. In half the cases, the cause is entirely unknown.
Avatar m tn hey there, badgerMR. to be honest, i took metronidazol just one day after i took my azythromicine (i know, shouldn't self-diagnose), but I took them anyway. and it did not help. I know there's an alternative which is tinidazol but I'm just saying I did take antibiotics against MG myself and it did not help the symptom...
Avatar f tn I am not a doctor, but I read that for Mycoplasma and maybe other NSU, it seems like Moxifloxacin is a more efficient treatment. Maybe you should ask your Dr after it ? Good luck, hope we'll both get out of this very soon.
Avatar n tn Ok so I came back negative or not detected for hiv genotype 1 not detected for PR gene mutations and not detected for RT gene mutation..
Avatar f tn We’re you tested for mycoplasma Genitalium as well? If not I suggest being off antibiotics for AT LEAST 3 weeks and then testing for it.
