Xanax wont help with energy and depression and it is making you more tired and the same is true with morphine. Try tapering the Xanax then go with a stimulant to help with daily energy (something like Adderall if you want amphetamines and Modafinil if you don't want amphetamines and less side-effects). Managing a healthy diet rich in complex carbohydrates rather than simple sugar, rich in Omega-3, vegetables and fruits can also help.

You are trying anything to feel better, including (and I had to look it up) taking an off label drug. Like all addicts who aren't in recovery, you substituted one drug for another. In your case opiates for alcohol. What you are going thru right now is withdrawl. There is NOTHING that will fix it or hurry it up except time.

Can anyone please tell me if adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) will affect taking birth-control pills? In other words, if I occasionally take adrafinil to help me study - will it make the pills ineffective. I certainly don't want to get pregnant. I know that long term use of Modafinil decreases the effectivenes of bc pills but how about short term use? Once or twice a week? Thank you!

The reasons for reaching such a dose are due to both tolerance to the effects, and to optimize beneficial effects (treatment of ADHD symptoms, intermittent fatigue, and moderate depression). Please note, that at the dose I am on, further tolerance has not occurred, and I do not anticipate ANY need for a higher dose. I am not willing to see a doctor (in real life) at this time. I have been put on Modafinil for my sleeping issues and it makes my birth control less effective according to my neurologist and pharmacist. Is there any way I can find out how MUCH less? Not good. You definitely want to look for a specialist. Might want to scope out your throat to see if there are also problems down there. any advice or experiences that could help me understand would be really helpful please. My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. I find it funny that you bring that up because I am also on Modafinil and Cymbalta. Try to get rid of the Seroquel and trazadone when you can and go for the Cymbalta and Provigil. Think about adding a good vitamin B complex to help with energy and you metabolism and what it can do for your brain and mood.

I used to be that way and the doctor says depression. You either sleep a lot or don't sleep at all. Both depression. Changed anything in your life recently?

I as well was denied alertec and they chenaged to Modafinil bc it is cheaper and needs to be tried first (the are the same.. Just cheaper) My neuro still had to send in authorization papers to have coverage approved. It was no problem for ms related fatigue. I did try amantadine first which did not help so that could have been helpful in having the Modafinil covered. Hope it goes though for you!! It is great for me!!

Ive tried ‘forcing’ 8hrs sleep/night and I was a wreck by day 3/4 and slept for nearly 24hrs straight to compensate. Had blood tests, sleep study showed nil, only hx is kyphoscoliosis. Im certain I dont have depression or other psych problems, but have trialed several antidepressants anyway for some time, all had ZERO impact on the amount of sleep I require. Thoughts? It is quite annoying, not being able to live the same lifestyle as nearly everyone I know.

I have been fighting for twenty plus years to find out what was wrong - Called a hypochondriac by doctors and family. Told I have bipolar and - seriously - while I was laughing and joking around told that I was depressed and it was causing my symptoms. At that point I told dr. to give me shock therapy or a lobotomy then. I will do whatever it takes not to be this sick/pain/fatigued. I have/am suffered a cornucopia of symptoms. Fatigue being the worse of them all.

The last eight months were rough with me and I have been a bit dormant. Depression and anxiety with job, fell and injured my ankle...but started a new page this month. New job and a better outlook, happy again after a long while. However my health has not the best lately. I've been having a light-headed dizzy feeling that has me off balance and stumbling, and I am always sleepy/sleeping at any chance.

B12, iron, transfusion, etc and only after that consider Modafinil if the fatigue still hasn't improved.

Hi all, I currently take 100 mg of Modafinil every morning but was advised that I could take up to 400 mg per day. The doc who prescribed mentioned one tab in the am and one in the pm but I have heard from other people who take it that they find it better to take 200 mg in the am instead of splitting it into two doses. I tried the am and pm option today but am beyond exhausted. I would love to hear what anyone has found works best for them. Thanks!

my son is 21 and is also bipolar with psychosis so he deals with the paranoia more. he takes abilify and modafinil (modafinil is like aderol with out the addictive reactions) it helps him stay more focused. don't know if this helps - but feel free to contact me if i can help any.

I work in a retail pharmacy and am used to seeing the prior authorization responses from insurance companies. I also used to be on Provigil (brand) and now take the generic for it, Modafinil, and my insurance approves it, but I have had a sleep study with a narcolepsy diagnosis and my doctor's office has to get it approved every year for a one year period. It is not easy and the doctor has to be willing to fight to get the approval. The diagnosis does make a difference.

Over two years I have been on amantidine, modafinil and now ritalin 10 mg x 3 a day. I can stil sleep on the ritalin and am shocked by that. Obviously I had to try everything else first due to risk. My specialist said that usuallt when people legitimally need the medecicine they usually don't abuse it. I haven't found any problems with it.
