Mircette side effects contraceptives

Common Questions and Answers about Mircette side effects contraceptives

mircette

Avatar n tn Administration of most combination oral contraceptives (OCs) begins on the first Sunday after or on which bleeding has started. If you have not started menstruating, 3 weeks post partum would be when you would have most likely been told to restart your BCP. Tony is correct, if you are in fact breastfeeding you should discuss with your OB/GYN a progestin only pill ( a good example would be NORA-BE TABLET) . If not here are some low dose pills to consider.
730826 tn?1317943334 Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?
4528412 tn?1357069833 I just went through this. I'm 7 weeks PP and breastfeeding my daughter, after reading some of the terrible things about IUD and side effects I chose the mini pill. It's safe for BF'ing and if I decide to stop I can just switch to the regular pill. I'm really good with taking pills though, so if you're not maybe an IUD is best for you, you can also get depo shots while breastfeeding, but I've heard weight gain is bad with it.
Avatar f tn Breakthrough bleeding(bleeding while taking the active pills of combined oral contraceptives, or other hormonal contraceptives),spotting and changes in menstrual flow are common side effects after starting the oral contraceptives and they are frequent while taking the triphasic contraceptive(orthotricyclen). Breakthrough bleeding is most common when a woman first begins taking oral contraceptives, or changes from one particular oral contraceptive to another.
525501 tn?1212432217 m going to stop taking birth control. It has too many beneficial effects, before I started taking it my periods and my PMS was horrible. Anyway just wanted to add my two cents for anyone with problems like this that happens to find this article. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I really don't think there are any contraceptives without side effects other than abstinence and condoms. I've been on 3 different forms of birth control in my life and all have their own side effects, but unless you're really sensitive, none are that bad.
Avatar f tn but one thing they are not clear about is the longterm and short-term side-effects,thats y im a bit reluctant to try it.whereas with the pills, they`re easily forgettable and one needs to be dicsiplined when taking contraception pills, but they also have side-effects,which im not clear about.the pills dont work while taking anti-biotics and when the stomach is running.so which method works better and at the same time, doesnt bring much harm to my body?
Avatar f tn Hi! Yes, the morning after pill has plenty of side effects. Emergency contraceptives are a big dose of hormones which is how they work. But then those hormones are in her system and her body has to deal with them. Irregular bleeding for 2 to 3 moths is to be expected. She can take a pregnancy test to make sure she isn't pregnant but this sounds like normal EC side effects to me.
Avatar f tn The other contraceptives youve tried gives you that side effects because of the changes in your hormones. Tubal ligation doesnt have that side effect coz it doesnt affect your hormones only cuts the passage of ur egg cell. Its also 99.9% effective as contraception.
Avatar f tn Hi. How safe is the injection as a contraceptive and is there side effects.
Avatar f tn A related discussion, <a href="/posts/Birth-Control-Contraception-/side-effects-or-something-else-/show/2770899">side effects or something else </a> was started.
Avatar f tn re worried call you obgyn in the morning and ask to speak to a nurse. Did you read the info that came with the plan b? It will explain side effects. Any time you put your body through an unnatural experience there are bound to be side effects.
Avatar f tn Skin irritations, messy and not effective barrier over the cervix are few of its side effects. Consult your doctor and discuss your concerns. Hope it helps. Best luck and take care!
Avatar m tn t really have any reasons to worry. If you read the side effects of the pill, it says that it can cause irregular bleeding, spotting, and your cycle might come sooner/later than usual. It can also make it lighter/heavier than normal.
Avatar m tn ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously.
Avatar f tn Thank u for the insight! Much appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have been on every birth control available and they all have side effects affecting libido. There is a very low dose pill called Camila that you may want to check out but since it's a low estrogen, you have to take it consistently. I've heard that the Maca Root supplement is good at boosting a woman's libido.
6916000 tn?1386095142 Is it safe for me to take contraceptives? What are its side effects? And why isnt trancap working? Is polycystic ovary somehow related to hypothyroidism??
Avatar f tn Hallo, try the ring,it is something great, has lots of advantages and not as many (or practically no) side effects on the diabetes in comparison to the other contraceptives. You need to think only twice a month about it, you do not feel it at all and I think it is the best contraceptive discovered until now.I use it for about 5-6 Months and have Diabetes type 1 for 13 yrs. It is also said to be as safe as the pills. Just ask your doctor or search for information in the web.
Avatar f tn My last depo provera shot ran out in november and i never got it renewed as i was having bad side effects and i wanted to come off all contraceptives to let my body sort itself out. Its now nearly april and i havnt had any signs of a period apart from stomach cramps now andagain. I was just wondering if anyone had any information for me as im getting a little bit worried/frustrated. Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Well, the morning after/emergency contraceptive pill is a hormonal shock to the system to rid your body of the ability to sustain a pregnancy. Naturally that is going to have side effects. Our hormonal system controls things like our periods, uterine contracting, etc. All are affected by the morning after pill. Say you 'were' pregnant, there is going to be some expelling of that material by the body. Bleeding is also quite normal.
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
Avatar f tn ntrinaculookin: Sorry to confuse you... I can't and actually don't wanna use contraceptives... Don't want to try anything else cause I don't like the reactions my body gets to them not so I like the side effects... Can't because my body reacts to the side effects... You know how you have a percentage of people that something's don't work with, I'm usually in that percentage... My body is so crazy that even laughing gas makes me cry...
Avatar f tn It also covers some information on side effects from hormonal bc., and how emotions can affect arousal, along with vaginal dryness. You can go to the Scarleteen site, then search article "can birth control cause dryness". It will give you a more in-depth view on what we discussed earlier. Scarleteen gives great advice for teens and young people; it also offers message boards...
Avatar f tn Hi, I just wanted to post this article about injectable contraceptives and breast cancer: http://www.sciencecodex.com/comment/reply/89256 I also wanted to ask people's opinion about newer, somewhat controversial forms of birth control like Yaz and NuvaRing. From what I've read, there seem to be a lot of serious side effects and I'm always cautious about medications that haven't had that many years of data behind it.
Avatar m tn She is in no way allowed to become pregnant while you are on treatment!!! The drugs are very, very strong and the drugs can cause serious birth defects and death of the unborn child. It is advised to use two different contraceptives while on treatment. Do NOT get her become pregnant until minimum 6 months after having completed treatment!!! You can read up on side effects etc on pegintron.
Avatar f tn Micronor (noretindrone) is a Progestin-only birth control medication. One of the primary side-effects of progestin-only oral contraceptives is irregular menstrual bleeding. This can be spotting or breakthrough bleeding, shortened cycles, or amenorrhea. Amenorrhea is the absence of menstruation (one or more missed periods). This is a normal occurrence for some women taking birth control pills.
