mircette

1371539 tn?1281268141 She also sent us directly to a fertility specialist which specialized in insulin resistance PCOS. He indicated that there were a couple of different ways for us to be able to conceive (We were ready a year ago - so we stepped up the process). He did recommend going on a diet (I have also been overweight for many years). He recommended doing a PCOS diet - you can find books on this! For the main part, it was going very little carbs, or switching them to whole wheat.
Avatar m tn ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously.
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
525501 tn?1212432217 m not going to be able to sleep for a while so I thought I would share a bit of info about mircette from drugs.com, This is important to me because I've been having slightly more discharge than normal even though no period. It seems to me that if the medicine effects the mucous lining that might be cause for the increase in discharge...from drugs.com "Mircette contains a combination of female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary).
Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar n tn I just recently had a baby on Sept 5, I have a prescription for birth control but I am not sure when to start taking them. I think the nurse at the hospital told me to start taking them on the third Sunday after the baby, but I am not sure. Can you help me?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I have been on Yaz for over a year and I stopped around 6/13/08. My husband and I have had unprotected sex and for the past 2 weeks I have had tender/swollen breast, went up almost a cup size, very bloated, unexpected nausea that comes and goes. Since Friday I have had very light cramping and pelvic pressure that comes and goes, when I move around they subside. This might sound gross but around 6/25 or so when I woke up I was very wet.
Avatar f tn Hi - This is my first time posting, but I am certain that I have endometriosis. I have so many of the symptoms (pelvic, lower back and abdominal pain, bowel/gastro issues, horrible cramps, etc.). I am 39, but believe that BCP's helped suppress some of my symptoms for years until I had my last child (I was diagnosed about 10 years ago with IBS). I decided to get off BCPs and since, have been feeling awful. I am back on the pill (continuous Mircette), but still do not feel well.
Avatar f tn Also taking birth control (Mircette) continuously for period suppression (ie, only 4 periods a year -- 3 months of active pills followed by a one week break.) I am having trouble interpreting my latest labs with my thyroid and sex hormones... Sex Hormone Binding Globulin - 306 (high) Testosterone, Free - 1 (low) Testosterone, Free Percent - .3 (low) Testosterone, Total - 41 T3 - 229 (high) Thyroxine, Free - 1.5 TSH - 1.22 How is it that my T3 is elevated and the other be fine?
Avatar n tn Greetings SFX, Hysterectomy is not standard treatment for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a disorder that stems from the ovaries. Removing your uterus will not cure PCOS. First line treatment for PCOS often includes combined hormone therapy a.k.a "birth control pills" , weight loss, evaluation for endocrine disorders such as diabetes and in the event of hirsutism (male hair pattern) spironolactone. Removal of the ovaries in the reproductive age women is associated.
Avatar f tn i was wondering if you can get pregnant having PCOS and not taking anything for the PCOS. It is probably slim to none.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you might have Polycystic Ovarian Cyst Syndrome (PCOS) and only a doctor can determine what course is right for you to take. Good luck!
Avatar n tn It was originally for breast cancer, but seems to help with ovulation in pcos. From all the research ive done laprascopy is sort of the last resort. I'd try a new doc.
Avatar f tn Women who are 35+ have these risks increased, but in reality at any age you can have a baby that has birth defects. Just because you have PCOS does not mean your baby will have any birth defects. How long have you been trying for a baby? I'm 23 and haven't even started yet and I too have PCOS. I know when we do start trying it may take some time, and I'm willing to wait until I'm 30 or even old to have my first baby. Are you taking any meds to help with getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn Dont let doctors tell you that you are too young for treatment its never too early to begin treatment for pcos if it is left untreated symptoms could worsen drastically. I dont recommend buying stuff online and creating your own dosage, you dont know how your body will react to clomiphene you could over stimulate your ovulation or harm yourself, consult a different doctor, one who is willing to assist you in your conception.
483088 tn?1212346249 Dear All, Can you help me understand why the Gp thinks three ovarian cysts or right ovary and one on cervix?? si not enough for pcos?? I have history of cysts rupturing ten years ago, I have hirtuism on my face, nipples stomach and bikini area and have had since the birth of my second child 14 years ago. I have been in hospital recently with suspected kidney stones that i suspect may have been these cysts?? and now ive been started on ace inhibitors to bring down high blood pressure.
Avatar n tn Hi love, I'm 20 yrs old and have had pcos for 7 years! The pill has helped me and makes me feel better because not having a regular cycle increases the risks of get cancer of the uterus! I never used to get my period! And now if I missed one I have to go to the doctors and everything cause apparently its a high risk! I'm on Yasmin, which it good for the hair and acne I'm pretty sure as well! As far as what diets, I have these really good books about special diet for pcos!
Avatar f tn t have cysts on the ovaries, then they think you have no problem. PCOS is different for everybody. Some have just the hormonal issues, some just have the cysts, and some have both. I, when I learned i had it...I have just the hormonal issue, although I suspect a cyst now due to missing my period for June. Please see your doctor so you can start treatment asap.
Avatar n tn Hi there. I am about to start metformin for my PCOS next week at the start of my new cycle. Will this help me to ovulate and help improve my chances of conceiving? We are trying for baby number two, this will be our ninth month. I was put on clomid 50mg to help us conceive our first baby two years ago. My transvaginal sonogram showed i have PCOS on my left ovary, but my right ovary was clear. I also have a tilted uterus. Would this hinder our chances of conceiving?
Avatar f tn Thx Nicolak for getting back to me i'll do that and be firm in what i want as i'm fedup with being fobbed off with my doc's, i'll let u know what happens next. Ye i was diagnosed last year but i'm sure i've had this since i was 18-19 years old as thats when my periods started to become irregular and then they completely stopped.
1907238 tn?1340711313 It sounds like they think you have PCOS. Metformin is commonly used for that to regulate your cycles so that you can ovulate without any other drugs. I know I was on it for 6 months and it didn't work for me but my cycles were off from a bad miscarriage. They figure I should have had a D&C but they lost my referral to the OB so it wasn't done. I had a HSG and they think that cleared out whatever was remaining from the miscarriage. The following month I got pregnant. 17wks now.
1434731 tn?1382722384 I'm taking the for PCOS I started taking 1 daily for 2 weeks, now I'm taking 2 daily for another 2 weeks then I'm up to 3 daily for the rest of my life.
603412 tn?1220315536 For 15 days I spotted, for 2 days I had actual flow and horrible, horrible cramps for those 2 days. I will normally have light cramps for a few hours the first day of AF, but never anything like this. DH and I are trying to concieve, does anyone have any thoughts on this?
