Mircette for hair loss

Common Questions and Answers about Mircette for hair loss

mircette

Avatar m tn ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously.
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
525501 tn?1212432217 m not going to be able to sleep for a while so I thought I would share a bit of info about mircette from drugs.com, This is important to me because I've been having slightly more discharge than normal even though no period. It seems to me that if the medicine effects the mucous lining that might be cause for the increase in discharge...from drugs.com "Mircette contains a combination of female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary).
Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar f tn In some cases, there is a need to treat the underlying cause for resolution of the hair loss. Take care always.
Avatar n tn If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 18 years old, and have been having issues with hair loss. It all began about 2 years ago when I initially switched up my diet and lost weight quite rapidly. I lost my period for about 6 months and my hair shed. I had blood work done then, and no irregularities were present. My hair loss eventually subsidized (although my hair never fully grew back), and my period returned. However, in June I missed my period, and my hair loss returned.
1765695 tn?1313669583 Jibs thank you so much for the information I am loving this site already. I know diet has gotta have an impact too, do you know of any foods that are good for hair as well along with the supplements?
Avatar n tn I just recently had a baby on Sept 5, I have a prescription for birth control but I am not sure when to start taking them. I think the nurse at the hospital told me to start taking them on the third Sunday after the baby, but I am not sure. Can you help me?
Avatar f tn Is that normal to loose hair after RAI? i had it done for about 2 1/2 months ago.
Avatar f tn Stress is a huge reason for hair loss on anyone. My mom experienced hair loss while undergoing treatments. I have experienced hair loss for stress, medications for migraines (seizure meds for prevention will do it every time). Also my doctor put me on a great prenatal vitamin that helped with my hair loss and I started to have new growth. Soak with your doctor and see what he recommends. Could be a simple imbalance due to stress in itself or the cancer side effects.
314532 tn?1206415109 Deep repair (which I use), hydrating hair mask. They really help the hair fiber and it will be so much easier for you to comb out! I have also been taking the nioxin recharging complex. As for coloring you hair...I have been coloring my hair through tx and I even permed it recently in hopes to make it look fuller. I have had no problem coloring my hair during tx. Although, I do use all of the nioxin products.
Avatar m tn Hello, Stress can be one of the causes for hair loss. Other than that alopecia aereta should be ruled out. The causes for excessive hair fall may be physiological or pathological and include hormonal changes, fungal infection, physical effects (traction, heat, chemicals), psychological & stress-related reasons, thyroid disorders, iron deficiency anemia, excessive intake of Vitamin A, hereditary reasons etc.
Avatar f tn I then took Armour 15mcg once a day for one month now and I feel so much better but alot of my hair has fallen out. I am not sure if this has been going on and didn't notice it as I had so much beautiful hair. I eat organic as much as possible,do yoga also.

Avatar n tn I was under stress the last month with a sports injury and on anti inflammatory tabs for nearly 3 weeks so dont know if thats the cause, but had hair fall and hair thinning 3 months, thats fast for having a ponytail to be seeing my scalp now isnt it? Im a 31 yr old male, sorry for the ignorance but didnt know men could have thyroid levels changes, how do I find out? My general health is good.
Avatar n tn I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist for this as it is important to rule out all the causes of hair loss and reach a confirmatoty diagnosis.Treatment is specific for that diagnosis.Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
Avatar f tn Ongoing hair loss is most often associated with still being hypothyroid, although some people have problems with specific meds. What was the original reason for going on meds and how much are you taking? Free T3 is the most important test, followed by free T4. Free (unbound) T3 is the thyroid hormone that correlates best with hypo symptoms. Suggest that you make sure they continue to test for the "Frees". Are you also experiencing other symptoms?
Avatar f tn I am hoping someone will have some answers for me. I am not sure what I should do about this thyroid hair loss I am having. I read that adding t3 helps with hair loss? I know you can not believe everything you read. Right? I did get my new tests back from the doctor today and now I am considered hyperthyroid instead of hypothyroid. I just can not seem to get the right dosage needed to fix me. Help.
Avatar f tn Before I started Tx, I looked online for hats, scarves, caps that were specifically made for chemotherapy hair loss. As it turns out, there was a store near me and I went there to see what they had. I picked one out and got the data on it. I did not buy it because I did not want a hair covering if I did not need one. But I felt very relieved that I could call them and get the head covering in less than a week if I needed it. http://www.headcovers.com/ http://www.hatsscarvesandmore.
Avatar f tn 05% w/w to my scapl twice daily for a week then give it a break for 3 days and apply minoxidil 3% for those 3 days twice daily, along with which he asked me to take 2 pills bioton 600 and spironolactone 100. do you think its a safe combination? its just been 2 days that i started using the drugs.
