Mirapex er dosage

Common Questions and Answers about Mirapex er dosage

mirapex

410281 tn?1254229064 PLMD, RLS and apnea. My neuro put me on mirapex immediately upon seeing the results. I actually feel like myself again. I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!
749148 tn?1302860959 hands... she prescribed Mirapex. I have not started it yet and wondered if anyone out there is using this medication and what your thoughts are. She recommended a TENS unit for the rib pain I guess it's caused from a miss-firing message between my spinal cord and my brain, even though no lesions showed on my thoracic MRI doesn't mean they are not there...hummmm.
279948 tn?1241270076 However, when thinking of the future, I will have to admit I am more frightened of RLS which I have had since I was seven. I am taking Mirapex for relief of this torturous malady, but now I am afraid of the drug. I take .25mg four times a day. I have had episodes of going to sleep and dropping whatever it is I have in my hands. As of today, I am trying to cut down and take half a dose in the morning and at noon. The drug has made my life bearable.
1182133 tn?1266851531 Sounds like you are coming off your bodies expected Vike dosage... It's something that can be help a little with bananas or potassium supplement... Some people take a hot bath... to relieve the pain. I know how ya feel .... hope you feel better.
Avatar n tn I meant to add that the neuro should increase your pain meds like Darvon to a higher dosage or stronger medicine, becuz RLS is controlled by that better than the Mirapex. Also the Mirapex does have "rebound" effect, where after a while, the drug loses its effectiveness and RLS will come back with a vengeance (like at night when you don't know it), so your Neuro should know what to do with the Mirapex when that happens.
1390101 tn?1281000559 Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.
Avatar n tn I recently started taking Mirapex ER for possible PD and my tongue is numb and feels swollen. However, it does not appear swollen. I have had some numbness in my tongue in the past although it did not last for several days. My symptoms become more apparent about an hour after taking medication. I looked at the side effects and this is not one of them. Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to this medication?
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
1200450 tn?1317496867 The doctor put me on mirapex. She told me it would make me very sleepy and help to control the jerking and twitching at night to allow me to get better sleep. I spent most of my sleep time in phase 2 sleep with very little time in REM. My question is about the mirapex. Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better.
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
410281 tn?1254229064 I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
398059 tn?1447945633 Because of the Mirapex and Gabapentin I can sleep at all. I still get uncomfortable though. It is pain really, except in my left arm anyway. But, the uncomfortablnes and pain in left arm is toerable. I just need more sleep than i am getting.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?
Avatar n tn Get a sleep consult, a sleep study (in lab, unfortunately) and a [while you are waiting, talk to your PCP] prescription for Ropinirole. Starting dosage is around 0.5mg but it depends on your physiology. They may try Mirapex, Gabapentin, or other drugs. You should also avoid caffeine as much as you can, as this will aggravate the hell out of this.
Avatar m tn Definitely talk to your pain Dr about this. He/she needs to know the medication is not helping much at all. Yes, you may get more relief with an increase or you may have to try another medication. How often are you taking your meds? That's another thing to talk to your Dr about. If you're taking them say every 6 hours you may need to take them every 4 hours. If your Dr decides to increase the mgs of your meds they will most likely do it slowly, maybe 5 mgs at a time.
487070 tn?1313665952 Secondly, I have been put on Pramoxile (sp?) Mirapex for it. Started at 1/8 mg and increased over time to now 1 mg. I hate the side effects but it seems to be working for the most part. I understand it is mainly used for Parkinson's diasease and sometimes RLS. Does anyone take this for their RLS? If so how much? Supossedly it helps increase Dopmine levels which PLMD and Parkinson disorders have in common.I'm not sure if RLS is caused by low Dopamine or not. I feel like YUCK.
Avatar f tn I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?
Avatar n tn I have RLS and take Mirapex, .25mg about an hour before bed. It has worked great for me. I tried the Gabapentin and got up to 1200 mg - which was also taken before bed, but it did nothing for me. I have been told that Mirapex works much better than Ropinerol - you may want to talk to your doc about Mirapex as an option - it just went generic.
Avatar n tn TSH in Oct before the issue started was 1.34 (137mcg synthroid). TSH end of Oct (after an ER visit becuase of my symptoms) was 0.8. Endo dropped my dosage to 125mcg. Improved slightly over the next two months and even stopped losing weight. Then in January of this year went to ER with same symptoms (wildly fluctuating high BP, sinus tachycardia, and anxiety/palps). Cardiologist put me on Beta B because my rapid HR and high blood pressure 140+/90+ was now sustained.
Avatar n tn Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0. Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too? I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
Avatar f tn Yesterday my doctor prescribed me Mirapex Pramipexole Dihydrochloride tablets 0.125mg. I took two before bed and no RLS! I slept for 12 hours! BTW I'm down to one 10mg oxyneo and one 5mg oxtcocet. Staying like this for another day and than hitting ground zero tomorrow. Praying it won't be to bad, but with this new med for RLS I think I'm gong to be OK.
Avatar n tn I once took my night time met twice, (my normal nighttime does is 1000) anyways I called the hospital and spoke with the ER they called an MD and I was told to not worry about it.
