The test was a rapid antibody test. Can someone please weigh in and tell me could minocycline possibly be used as a PEP drug for HIV? And if so, should I be worried about my status? Should I test again?
I'm worried because I read on the web minocycline is an investigatory drug for HIV that has been shown to reduce replication of the virus.

1) Could this drug (minocycline) really disrupt my body's immune response to produce antibodies because of the reduced replication in CD4+ cells?
2) I've read that after you take PEP, the window period is lengthened due to suppression of the virus. My question is could minocycline possibly be a HIV medication that could be used for PEP?
3) If so, How long should I wait? I was off minocycline for approximately 23 days before I took the 21.5 week HIV test.
Have a bad headache and no pain meds at home. Have a little of the Buprenorphine hcl left from when my cat was neutered. It was given to him orally at a dose of 0.3cc. I looked it up and it looks like a "human" drug also, but am wondering if I am able to take this.

My AIH was induced by an antibiotis called Macrobid.
I have been on Minocycline for acne for well over a year. Usually I take 50mg twice a day, although for the last month have been on 75mg twice a day. If by some freak chance I had rectally contracted Gonorrhea or Chlamydia, would this antibiotic take care of it?
Recieved oral sex 3 days ago but I take 200mg of minocycline a day if I was wanting to go get tested will this affect my test results at all?
The doctors on here even on google say at one point minocycline was used to treat gonorrhea and that is my major concern from oral at this point. 3rd day no symptoms I can see.
The doctors say although it's not the best drug to treat gonorrhea any longer it would cenrtinaly help preventing it from oral.

I was diagnosed with Lyme based on a positive Western Blot test and a Sunnybrook test that was indicative on the 93 band (I think that was the band) I am on Minocycline and was wondering if others out there were also on it and if it worked for them. I seem to be getting better. There are ups and downs but I am able to move much better than anytime in the past 7 and a half years. Just wondering how long one has to be on the drug and if it really makes you better.

I have been going through something very similar. I was prescribed Minocycline (a very evil drug) for my cystic acne back in November. Within just a couple days something terrible happened...and it happened so quick. Something just clicked...and then all of the sudden I started to have the most awful thoughts that I have ever had in my entire life. And these thoughts aren't thoughts that I've had before.
The only meds I am on now are Allegra, Zantac and just ending a four week round of Minocycline. If this is possibly from Minocycline, how long does it take for a drug induced rash to go away?
I mean, how is it that millions of people on PPIs are making too much HCl? Hyperchlorhydria or too much stomach acid is rather rare. If you're overeating, eating junk food or other food that is hard to digest, eating when stressed, living under stress, chances are much greater that you don't make enough hydrochloric acid or digestive enzymes and your symptoms stem from that. Started 50mg Minocycline with dinner Saturday night for perioral Dermatitis. Woke on Sunday very depressed, unable to deal with people, very irritable & crying. Chalked it up to a bad depression day. Worse next day. No other changes. Nothing else to trigger worse depression & anxiety. 2 pharmacists & my psychiatrist all say this shouldn't be the case & I can't find any info on a google search.
