Avatar n tn Trying to figure out what this is ... I've taken a few pictures in hope that it assists some of you. First time on here so I hope I'm doing this correctly (asking the question). I've had this for about a year off and on - lately a lot more on than off. I will get rashes anywhere on my body (ranging from arms to legs, torso - everywhere). The skin will become itchy with very slight redness, or sometimes even bright redness.
Avatar f tn Hi When topical corticosteroids do not provide relief, sometimes more the doctor may consider prescribing some more potent corticosteroids for some period, in adults with may be needed for adults with eczema on the scalp, limbs, and trunk or those with chronic/ lichenified eczema. Newer two topical eczema drugs like pimecrolimus (Elidel Cream) and tacrolimus (Protopic Ointment) are reserved only for cases where corticosteroids have not been effective.
Avatar n tn thanks again for ur quick response! i posted pictures of the rash in my photo album. im going to see a doctor soon, and id like to hear what u have to say before i go.
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms and pictures,it looks like nummular eczema(stubborn, itchy rash that forms coin-shaped patches on the skin.Found mainly in adults but can oocur in children also) , hives(red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known.
Avatar m tn I have eczema in my eyebrow/upper cheek on the left side of my face. I used to have dandruff, but it has essentially cleared after using zinc shampoo a few times a week. But the skin is still greasy under my brow and on my eyelid, which results in hairs being weak and falling out. Any suggestions to clear up the greasy skin? I've tried hydrocortisone cream, but to little avail. Also, the condition seems to worsen after a night of drinking alcohol - is that part of the problem?
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your respond, can u really only get Eczema in only one place? I thought that ends up getting in many areas when u have it. also what are some other things u think it may be?
Avatar n tn Hello, From the pictures it looke like eczema. . It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, certain foods, plants, metals, cosmetics, dust mites etc. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin.
608553 tn?1389502811 Topical steroids is the mainstay of treatment of eczema. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
Avatar n tn Within the past few weeks I have noticed very small, but growing red rash type objects on the shaft of my penis. After looking at lots of pictures, it seems to look similar to very very mild herpes. But the problem is that I think it is impossible for this to be the cause due to what has happened. First off, I haven't had unprotected with someone other than my girlfriend in the past 5-6 months, and I never experienced the first episode 2-10 after contraction of herpes.
784419 tn?1236261756 Has your DR spoke to you about your diet? Eczema can be traced back to what you eat most of the time. This is especially true for kids. For adults you have to look at the detergents you are using, along with moisturizer. The most important thing is not scratching and to keep applying moisturizer. It can be hard to find one that agrees with your skin. Just after shower apply a liberal coat of a natural moisturizer like coconut oil.
Avatar n tn This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates and is aggravated by sweating and humidity. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. The other possibilities are of eczema, lupus erythematosus or dermatitis.

Avatar n tn Also, along with these symptoms i have had a mild burning in my anus after i use the toilet, once i shower without using soap it goes away. One GP said i might have become sensitive to condoms, but after 2 weeks of abstinence the redness remained. I might try using non-latex condoms. If i dont use condoms at all i'm fairly certain myself and my girlfriend will be back to square one. I am thinking about this a lot, but my penis is definitely more red than it was.

Avatar n tn My 18 month old developed a rash about two weeks ago that began as separate bumps that turned into a more sandpapery raised rash that started on the outside middle of his leg and now seems to be spreading as far down as his heel, as far up as his hip. I brought him to the doctor who quickly diagnosed it a s atopic dermatitis, gave me hydracortisone valerate and sent me on my way. He was busy. Driving away I realized that he didn't answer some of questions.
Avatar m tn I have this rash and it is extremely itchy. Its there in my armpits, and inner thighs. I don't think it is an STD because I'm still a virgin and I have not had any sexual relationships with anyone. I have attached some pics. please look at all three pics. Link to pictures I scratched the area and the skin is now damaged and when I apply a deodorant it's very painful. I've used anti fungal and eczema treatments i bought over the counter, nothing seems to be working.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately from looking at the pictures around Eczema, it does not really look like the bumps that I have on my finger. There is typically no redness around the bumps. About a year ago, I was diagnosed through an anonymous testing service with HSV-1. From doing a lot of research and seeing pictures, I'm scared that the bumps are from the possibility of having herpes whitlow.
Avatar f tn If you know of anything you can ask to better help me I will answer anything if in need of pictures I am willing to send again thank you so much for the response

Avatar f tn Often dry scaly skin detaches from the area with subsequent bleeding from the underlying skin. The skin is also darker in pigmentation. Can you give me a diagnosis (ezcema?, psoriasis?, ???) and help with suggestions for topical treatment?
