Avatar n tn Xanax is a pregnancy category D meaning that it has very high potential for neurological effects on the baby- and the stage she is in now (the first trimester) is when the brainstem is developing... I would/did quit ct if at all possible. Most definately, you should talk to your OB, since none of us on here are an OB doctor!

Avatar m tn X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.

Avatar f tn Can you take ultram during pregnancy? I know it is a category C drug but I know people who take phenergan and that is a category C drug as well.
Avatar n tn A category C medicine isn't nessesarly dangerous. I was on one for 6 months during my pregnancy and taking it 2-4 times a day. I would definitely get a second opinion from another doctor, or you can call your local pharmacy. They have more knowledge of drugs than doctors do and can give you proper advice.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone! I really need help. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and since last a couple of weeks I'm having severe anxiety attacks. I'm making stories in my head and sometimes I get this huge wave of fear out of no where, I get extremely shaky as well as nauseous and I have rushing thoughts. I feel like I'm being scared all the time that something bas is going to happen. I can't control it! My husband thinks is hormonal but it's just overwhelming.
Avatar f tn Hi there - We have a breastfeeding community - http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Breastfeeding/show/233. I am not sure if you were looking for a community or if you are asking about a knowledge category for the Questions for You. Let me know, and if it's the latter, I will pass your suggestion on to our developers.
751951 tn?1406632863 Thanks for all your comments and feedback. The badges are assigned at the category level, but if you go into the forum, the Top Answerers should be members who are actually a member of that community. So even though you have a badge for Neurology, if you go to the Neurology forum, you're probably not listed in the Top Answerer panel unless you're also a member of that community. When you're in MS, the Top Answerers listed should be the ones for MS.

1144050 tn?1261292610 Ask your doctor for sure. I just did a search on it and turns out someone had a similar question on this site in 2007: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/Can-Oxycodone-be-taken-during-pregnancy/show/52784 and this was one of the responses: Actually, it's a category C, not B. It is unknown if it is safe or not.

Avatar f tn Both my RE and gyn do not like Category C meds to be taken during pregnancy. If you have a serious bacterial infection, then I would imagine you need to treat it with an antibotic, but this is short term use then, correct?
Avatar f tn I used to work for a biotech company (and one of our drugs was rated Pregnancy Category X). This category applies to pregnancy specifically, and means the risks outweigh the benefits and should NOT be given to pregnant women. Please see links below. I also have been freaking out because my dr. has me on estradiol and I've begged him to take me off them because of these concerns. I've considered going off of them on my own.
Avatar n tn I had to take it while pregnant to flush another drug out of my liver. It was safe. I will say it made my morning sickness 100 times worse. My baby came out very healthy.
Avatar n tn You really need to consult your dr or even your pharmacist to get accurate information on what meds are safe for you and your baby ahead of time. Some anxiety meds (i.e. Klonopin and Xanax) are category 'D' - not recommended for pregnant women. Good luck!
