Avatar n tn I had *awful* irritable bowel syndrome throughout chemo. Luckily (?), when I also had it during radiation, a nutritionist met with me. She recommended a supplement called "Acidopholis." It's the bacteria in the intestines which we all need to digest food, but chemo and radiation kill it. I used it faithfully and saw a radical improvement in my IBS. No more constipation/diarrhea. Wish I'd been told about it during chemo! (I take one called Multidopholis Plus.

Avatar m tn Can hepatitis B causes acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and gall bladder to be removed.
Avatar f tn There are a variety of conditions that can increase the frequency of bowel movements. This can include irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel syndrome, celiac disease, or an infection. Testing the stool for infection can be considered. More tests can include blood antibody testing for celiac disease, as well as a colonoscopy to exclude inflammatory bowel disease. If the tests remain negative, treating irritable bowel syndrome can be considered.
Avatar m tn Hello, The various possibilities for your symptoms are gall stones,GERD(gastroesophageal reflux disease) and irritable bowel syndrome. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional bowel disorder characterized by mild to severe abdominal pain, discomfort, bloating and alteration of bowel habits. In some cases, the symptoms are relieved by bowel movements.Diarrhea or constipation may predominate, or they may alternate (classified as IBS-D, IBS-C or IBS-A, respectively).

As you are having constipation and abdominal cramps while passing stools,it is giving the possibility of irritable bowel syndrome an edge.Uterine fibroids don’t cause such symptoms but ovarian cysts can esp if they are big in size.

Avatar n tn I have diverticulosis and irritable bowel syndrome. Your symptoms of mucus are consistent with irritable bowel syndrome. Also, the cramping and pain going away following a bowel movement seems like it could be irritable bowel. With irritable bowel, all tests are normal including colonoscopy and abdominal ct scans. I also notice more discomfort when laying on my left side. My discomfort feels like pressure, not pain. I am going for an ultrasound tomorrow.
Avatar n tn //www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319962#causes-of-diarrhea I'd have said inflammatory bowel issues but you don't have pus. But that could be it too. It's time to see a doctor. They will also rule out celiac disease (where you can't process gluten). This next article you can copy and paste has diagnosis and treatment of IBS-D. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn Yes, those are pretty extreme symptoms. Are you sure they are related to GERD? What about irritable bowel syndrome. Those are actually more the symptoms of that issue. Do you have a regular doctor you see?
