memory

Avatar n tn My doctor was able to determine this by a sending me for a neuro-psych evaluation ...it tested my memory, motor skills, logic & reasoning, and more by repeating things immediately, 15 minutes later, half hour later, little puzzles and test to test your ability to sort things and solve problems. That test takes a few hours.
Avatar n tn 1) if there are any medications my father could be taking to help improve his memory, and 2) whether his current combination of medication may be affecting his memory. He is currently on zocor (20ml/day) for cholesterol, methotrixate and folic acid for psoriasis, and takes a 81 mg aspirin per day to help thin his blood. He had a pacemaker installed in 1993 (updated in 2002). Any thoughts or suggestions as to what we might explore with the doctors would be helpful. Thank you.

Avatar n tn he is now walking and talking but his short term memory has been very deeply affected, also his long term memory is bad,he does not seem to recall many events from the past and even though we are repetively repeating to him that he is in hospital he keeps asking where he is and saying there is nothing wrong with him.
Avatar f tn s like he has a become a totally different person, a 6 yr old stubborn boy. He has almost no short term memory, he keeps repeating the same things, can understand only short sentences and if you speak slowly and repeatedly. He will probably have radiotherapy for the residual tumor but I am totally confused at this point. What do you recommend we should do now? Shall we start seeing a neuropsychiatrist?
Avatar f tn I have alot of pain and cramps in my legs and hands along with memory loss and repeating myself like crazy and not even realizing it. I went for an MRI and the results came back as vague faint increased signal in the lower left anterior pons and medulla oblongata. It says it may just represent artifact but it could be a white matter disease. I was referred to a Neurologist but he didn't seem to concerned or really explain anything to me.
Avatar f tn s call my wife and tell her everything because I will not remember. His short term memory might never get better but if he keeps repeating things enough it might make to into the section of the brain that controls long term memorys. I know how frustrating it is for both of you.

710085 tn?1238023364 BOOP is bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia. It means a pneumonitis with no known (or found) infection, but that keeps coming back, sort of hiding out in your lungs until it gets a chance to strike again. They sent my biopsy to Mayo Clinic, and the report they got back suggested the it was probably BOOP, caused by a medicine I was taking for pain. It is a rare response a very few people have had to Vicodon or Neurontin. That's one of several kinds of BOOP.
Avatar m tn I have been having worsening memory and cognition issues over the past several years along with Fibro type physical symptoms. I am being treated for severe anxiety, emotion dysregulation (related to childhood traumas), depression, an eating disorder, generalized pain, exhaustion and insomnia. My Rheumatologist says my "fog" is too severe for Fibro and referred me to Neuro who ordered a sleep study and MRI. Rheum tests incl Ssdna range 0-200 u/ml w result of 605.
Avatar m tn I am 49 years old and have been having simple partial seizures and grand mal seizures for the past 2 years. Started out with simple partial seizures and ocular migraines, but I didn't know what it was, so I ignored it for about a year. I could tell they were getting worse and also noticed I would feel nauseous sometimes & pass out - other times smell a funny smell and pass out. I went to a neurologist and had EEG & MRI & table tilt test, nothing was found.

1260255 tn?1288654564 I've read people mentioning memory problems, but have not seen one type of memory problem discussed. Do any of you have problems where your memory does not store information? There are numerous occasions when I have absolutely no recall of conversations. This happened several weeks ago when my son called me at work. He told me that the grill was corroded at the bottom. I have no recall of this whatsoever, but his girlfriend was sitting next to him and vouches for him.
751951 tn?1406632863 I thought I was a complete idiot when I walked out of the place. The test memory and recall several different ways, i.e. lisitng a bunch of words and then asking you to repeat as many as you can. Then later during the testing, they ask you to repeat as many as you can after they've administered a couple of other tests. Another test is repatinga series of nubers or numbers and letters and categorizing them numerically and alphabetically in mentally before repeating them.
Avatar m tn But in the meantime, while you wait for a sleep test or to see a doc to figure out what might be doing this to your memory, let us say you know on your own that you don't sleep very well. I can suggest a couple easy things you can do to try to clear this up: One is to exercise to where you break a sweat at least three or four times weekly, this helps release tension and also helps a person sleep better. Two is to make your sleeping room very comfortable...

Avatar m tn Hi friends, I'm not sure if posting here would help me. My situation started a year ago around April 2018. Where I went to a massage place and it ended up on a intercourse but was a protected one. After that despite everyone keeps telling I'm -ve and did not contract the HIV virus I kept on testing until Dec 2018 and since it was about 8 months after my encounter I thought I was safe and tried to move on. But somehow the fear came back with what if....
1176211 tn?1264038680 It started with short time memory, difficulty repeating and remembering numbers, immediate memory loss, hitting the wrong letters on the keyboard, while thinking out something, there is a nano second when I know the memory is going to dissolve. Some fluctuated in degree of intensity oh and now a calcified mass in my right lower flank that is being repeated to see if there is a change in size.
Avatar f tn What is one (or more) thing (s) you do to keep healthy? Are there any tips you would give someone else in regards to managing their bipolar illness. For me the biggest help is a mantra. When things get tough I just keep repeating "This is only temporary, it will not last forever" Keeping that thought in the forefront of my mind has really got me through some tough times. Your turn now! Lets see if we can help each other out.
Avatar n tn I am still tired, even after 10hrs of sleep, achy, short term memory - I find myself forgetting and repeating myself to others, often. Long term memory is fine. Dry skin, etc. The endo wants me to take another sleep apnea test, the last one I did not sleep but one hour all night, and the hour reported no apnea. I have no drive, no interests, and yes they already have me on antidepresants.

Avatar f tn Black outs occur as alcohol cuts off the supply of oxygen to the brain seriously disrupting the activity of several neurotransmitters in Your brain, These transmitters are responsible for storing short term memory and THEN responsible to transition short term into long term memory. When those receptors shutdown, short term memory fails to become (transition into) long term memory. This happens because of the level of alcohol in Your blood.
