lunesta with nyquil

Hey Sandy is Lyrica better than Lunesta? I'm trying out the Lunesta but I get a metalic flavor after I take it and it doesn't go away till like mid day the next day...

My doctor gave me Lunesta to sleep. I also tried Rozerem. Lunesta worked GREAT!!!!! The only side effect I had was strange taste in my mouth when it started to kick in. But I would fall asleep and STAY asleep for 7 to 8 hours. When I wake up, Im wide awke and feel rested. If not, after the first 3 nights of not sleeping I would have been in the hospital because I felt like I was going crazy. Rozerem did not work as fast at nite and I did wake up and was sleepy in the morning.

If you are looking for an OTC solution, I would recommend treatment with a medication that does not contain acetaminophen, as NyQuil and Tylenol PM do. This will just cause unnecessary damage to your liver. Tylenol does make a sleep aid that does not actually contain acetaminophen, only diphenhydramine (Benadryl), which is what's making you sleepy when you take these meds. You can also find generic versions of Benadryl sleep aids at most drug stores.

NyQuil has a new sleep aid out called Zzzzquill! That seems to work pretty good for me. It's liquid and is absorbed better, at least for me. You might try it! Try not to stress!

For me, the first time I detoxed it only took a week for my legs to quit hurting and sleep normal. Bit this last time took about 2.5 weeks to sleep with no meds. I'm sure lunesta is great, but my inpatient facility told me to stay away from it because it is addictive. I have no idea, but they gave me trazadone to sleep. In off it now(4.weeks later) so I know it isn't too addictive. Good luck my friend.

Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?

I finally went to my doctor and got a prescription for Lunesta. Worked like a charm. They are strong though, I cut them in half and they still worked great.

I've taken ambien and lunesta. All sorts of problems with ambien including abuse. None of those issues with lunesta. It's still a hypnotic and anyone taking them should be educated about the drug and cautious about its use.

d the rozarem along with the lunesta (this was my sub doctor - said it was perfectly safe and I had no bad effects from it). I actually liked the rozarem. I dont know if youve ever seen the "It brings your dreams back" commercials, but it REALLY DID bring my dreams back. I got such a kick out of that. I dreampt every night. (I no longer ever dream). I stopped getting it though as it was not covered under my insurance and couldnt afford it.

Congratulations on day 11! Sleeping was an issue for me. Both before and after. I was taking lunesta. I stopped tho because it didn't help. Now I take a hot bath, drink my sleepy time tea, melatonin and valerian root. I don't take the valerian every night because I heard it can have wd symptoms too. I only slept 6 hours last night, but the night before I got 9 wonderful hours. Best sleep I've had in a while! It helps me to stay in a bedtime routine.

Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.

I'm on Ambien every night, otherwise, I would only get 2 hours of sleep a night. The benefits outweigh the risks. My doctor said there is a chance of depending on it to put you to sleep, but when my newborn comes, I'll wean off of it from having to be up with him all night. I even took Ambien with my first son, and he was born picture perfect. Get some rest!

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

anything a person uses every night to sleep can become mentally habit forming tho..even nyquil! caution as with all things should be used...

I really dislike getting sick on the weekend because I can't call the DR. Can I safely take nyquil? There is liver warning on back but that's also on tylenol. Hoping to get some help with sleeping and fight this cold. Liver stage 1-2 and not yet on triple treatment. I haven't taken any meds at all today, if that matters. Thanks everyone!

Hello again everyone! Boy it has been a very long day for me. I woke up yesterday morning a little after seven a.m. and have been awake since...unable to sleep. I have been off the Oxy's for almost a full well but ran out of my Ambien on Saturday. I am thinking the new insomnia has more to do with the Ambien than the Oxy's. I was taking 1 sometimes 2 Ambien a night to fall asleep....

but it can be abused and there are people who have an addiction to nyquil and benadryl too...be careful with any drug you use..even OTC drugs...

Have you tried I think it was mucinex?

I would like to know the answer to that one too. Sleep is what i long for too.
