Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta vs temazepam

lunesta

Avatar m tn Does anyone have any information or experience regarding using ambien versus temazepam? I've been taking ambien for 60 days, and my Dr. today gave me a prescription for temazepam 15mg as an alternative to ambien. He said it should give me a few more hours of sleep. Ambien right now is good for about 5 hours of dead-to-the-world sleep, followed by a few hours of in-and-out sleep. Not very satisfying. Besides, I've taken it longer than I really wanted to.
Avatar m tn I am also taking Adderall 20mg, once when I wake up, and 10mg about 4 hours later, and another 10 mg later, if needed, but seldom take the last one. After talking with doc briefly, he decided to let me swap over to Temazepam from Trazodone. I know I shouldn't just stop trazodone, but I did, which of course is making it worse when I am trying to sleep. First, about 5 days ago, doc had me double my trazodone, took 100mg.
710513 tn?1247522479 I called my Dr today and he prescribed Temazepam 30 mg...he says i can take it for up to two weeks...We had along talk about my anxiety, there are certainly factors in my life other than WD's so maybe this will help.....I told him i did not want to take anyhting that could lead down a path of furthur addiction...He says as long as I only get presciptions from him we will stay on top of it... He gave me a script for 30 but my insurance will only pay for 15 every 27 days.....seems weird.
1460021 tn?1445735958 Hey all...just wondering if any of you guys have had Temazepam while on a stimulant? (I'm on dexamphetamine 50mg over the day) I haven't been sleeping well for quite some time now (i was awake for over 40 hours a couple weeks back) so my doctor has given me a short course of Temazepam to try and get my sleeping patterns right again.
623065 tn?1275503695 I was on day 3 when i went and i had anxiety like no other the dentist gave me a script for temazepam and extrastrenght vicodin witch is what i was quiting like to say now on day 6. Avatar n tn I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline. Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day. Do you know of any other medicines that would help with longer sleep? How long does it usually take for the sleep to return on its own?
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
2021910 tn?1339896686 so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern.
Avatar m tn I was hearing people talking and laying awake all night and going to work all day. I called my doctor and he prescribed Temazepam 30mg capsules. I fell asleep in 20 minutes that night and have been taking one capsule every night for the last 12 years. How can I get off of Temazepam? I am taking prescriptions from my psychiatrist at night of one Seroquil XR 50mg tablet, and two Lithium Carb 300 mg capsules. Temazepam sometimes only gives me 4 hours of sleep.
Avatar m tn m have a hard time to get to sleep now without the Melatonine, I found some Temazepam 10mg Tablets but I dont know if I can take them without any trouble cause of the Dexamphetamine. Can I take Temazepam 10mg when I took my last Dexamphetamine at 6:00PM today? I normally go to sleep around 0:30AM so that when I will take the Temazepam, will it bring any problems or can I just take it?
Avatar m tn I have been extremely stressed and anxious over all of this and have been suffering from insomnia for the last 4 weeks. My PCP has prescribed both temazepam and just recently Lunesta to help me sleep, but still, I am getting only about 3.5-4 hours of sleep a night. Can anyone provide any thoughts on my potential HIV risk from my activities above as well as what may be happening to me physically?
Avatar f tn The GP I saw today said I may have developed a tolerance to the lorazepam so instead prescribed temazepam for sleep (to be reviewed in one week). He also wrote a follow-up letter to my GP's one asking the psych services for more support. This doctor comes across as being more assertive so he may have more luck. This doctor also has very strict limits and appears (is) less empathetic than my GP. The district inspector never phoned so I'll need to follow that up next week.
1201433 tn?1328997637 Hi, I was on Lunesta for the entire tx and it worked great. Ambien comes in two forms one is extended ambien, do you know which one you are on? You should talk to your Dr about which one you are on.I took regular ambien long before tx and it didn't work too well for me either. Best of luck....
Avatar m tn Personally I have been able to work my way through a list of meds to find one that works for me; Trazodone, Rozerem, Lunesta, Ambien, and finally Ambien CR which I consider a miracle drug. Hope this helps and hope you decide to see your doc. Good Luck!
Avatar n tn 3.5 mg/day isn't so bad. I've been on 4 mg/day Lorazepam for five years at least. PLUS two Temazepam for sleep. Anybody who knows benzos knows this is WAY too much. I'm tapering gently but firmly, even if it means losing an hour or so of sleep some nights. Not the end of the world. What works for me was half a Lorazepam (1 mg tablet) less other week. Once down to one Lorazepam and two Temazepam, I drop one of the Temazepam and go back to three Lorazepam.
1017452 tn?1254904998 the drug u mentioned is the American version of lunesta//it does not help me sleep either..i do think u tried phenerga...at 50 mgs it will knock most out/most at 25 mgs...ambien works better for many than lunesta and they r very similar in chemical make-up...but both are also similar to benzos...not benzos but people with a high tolerence to benzos have troyuble with ambien and lunesta for sleep..but i cant recall if he did benzos or not?
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar f tn m not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, since I have never abused medications, but I think I might be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from prescription medications, so I thought I would seek information here. I previously alternated between temazepam and zolpidem for sleep. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day.
