Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn I'm awake, sadly. I slept only an hour and a half and my body is telling me it's time to get up :( Lot lost , what kind of NyQuil worked for you?
Avatar n tn I am actually awake now by 8. I mean wide awake. I dont know what to do with myself with so much time awake during the day.
1355301 tn?1287967641 Does anyone have issues with going into dream sleep but feeling like you are awake watching the dreams wishing you could sleep? I will wake up feeling like I have worked all night long. A friend told me that she learned in a dream class in college that you only remember your dreams is you wake up during them. My doctor disagrees. But it seems logical if I wake up remembering dreaming all night long and feeling like I haven't slept a bit.
519035 tn?1348275773 I am not hyper of course, but the anxiety of this whole thing trying to keep me normal is what is really going on. Doc wants to put me on a low dose of ambien. I need my sleep if I want to get better. Some nights are better than others. Anyone else take anything?
Avatar n tn I was taking Lunesta 3mg prior to the Lexapro for 1 1/2 years. With the Lexapro, the Lunesta was ineffective. The MD put me on 15mg of Remeron with the Lunesta and this really helped. In an attempt to ward off tolerance to Lunesta, I now alternate ( 2 weeks at a time) between Lunesta 3mg and zolpiedem ( Ambien) Since the zolpiedem has a much shorter 1/2 life than the Lunesta, I take 5mg about 11:30 and another 5mg at 3:00 or whenever I awake.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking the following for FMS: Celexa (depression), Ultram (pain) Vicodin (bad pain), Lunesta (to stay asleep), and now Provigil (to stay awake in the day). I have say, these all are helping, but maybe about 50%. The pain never goes away, only flucuates to bad or worse. The Lunesta is great. I tried Ambien & Sonata, but couldn't handle the side effects. Lunesta keeps me asleep but doesn't make me feel hung-over in the morning.
327369 tn?1326119908 I have some xanex that helps sometimes and I have tried melatonin but nothing is great at helping me. I do not like lunesta or ambien because of side effects. Oh well....just wondering about others out there and how you handle it. Being awake when everyone else is asleep in the house depresses me!
736314 tn?1276884623 I am taking lunesta and guess what. I am wide awake. It usually works for me but not tonight i guess.
Avatar m tn ve tried meditation and while that works initially to relax my mind, as soon as I drift off I snap awake. The only thing that knocks me out is severe sleep deprivation (being awake for more than 24 hours) or alcohol (which is less than ideal). I've been working with my general practitioner to figure this problem out but they're frustrated since nothing seems to work. I'm frustrated too. This is impacting my life and has become a huge form of stress and unhappiness.
Avatar f tn m up in the middle of the night wide awake. Any suggestions on a pill to keep me asleep that I can ask my pdoc to try. She just gives me more klonipin and Visteral and that's not working.

Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
Avatar f tn I only took Ambien once, a while ago and I found that it did not help me much and also made me do strange things in the middle of the night, so that was it for me. I use Advil pm and it works great. I am so sorry you can't get any rest.
Avatar f tn Sorry this is so long. Background- I was do with ADD as a child, I was on 5 mg then later on 10mg Ritalin, Ritalin XR when it first came available until about 5 yrs ago when it seemed not to work as well. The Pdoc wanted to try Addrell 10mg, the 15mg 2x day.
Avatar f tn ) If this is just another of the same in the meek and mild category for insomniacs as Ambien and Lunesta are, it will act like a placebo for me, and therefore please do not recommend it. Thus, the more I hear, the more I know, and the more I know, the less money I will be throwing away regarding having Rozerum filled for naught, in addition to anteing up big bucks to pay for it. Self-pay patients, a monthly (#30) day supply costs $135.00. Three years ago, Ambien cost $3.00 per pill.
Avatar n tn However, I still hae terrible sleep problems. I am on Lunesta 2 mg. I have been taking Lunesta for 2 years now every night. Sometimes I sleep , sometimes I don't. When I do sleep, I only sleep for about 5 hours. If any thing is bothering me whether it bothers me a little or alot I don;t sleep, or I sleep a little at a time and wake up. No matter how tired i am I start feeling awake around 11:00 at night. Sometimes this awake feeling subsides around 1:30 in the morning.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar f tn Hello again everyone! Boy it has been a very long day for me. I woke up yesterday morning a little after seven a.m. and have been awake since...unable to sleep. I have been off the Oxy's for almost a full well but ran out of my Ambien on Saturday. I am thinking the new insomnia has more to do with the Ambien than the Oxy's. I was taking 1 sometimes 2 Ambien a night to fall asleep....
620048 tn?1358018235 -) I tried it - the ambien, not the unconcious s ex and it left me feeling like I had a hangover. I went back to Lunesta, which leaves a metallic taste in the mouth but not the hangover.
Avatar m tn Congratulations on day 11! Sleeping was an issue for me. Both before and after. I was taking lunesta. I stopped tho because it didn't help. Now I take a hot bath, drink my sleepy time tea, melatonin and valerian root. I don't take the valerian every night because I heard it can have wd symptoms too. I only slept 6 hours last night, but the night before I got 9 wonderful hours. Best sleep I've had in a while! It helps me to stay in a bedtime routine.
632011 tn?1234347109 I take Lunesta most nights - falling to sleep has not been a problem for me, but staying asleep was. I would wake up after 3-4 hours and be wide awake. The Lunesta has really stopped that. I hope you get some relief soon. Sleep deprivation is no fun!
Avatar n tn This isn't an answer to your question but a sympathetic response. I'm currently still trying to figure out why I struggle with the same thing. For me, my sleep anxiety has manifested itself in a couple of different ways. The current manifestation is that I jerk awake when I'm falling asleep. The only way to mitigate it , is to be so completely sleep deprived that my fatigue over powers my mind/body's desire to jerk awake.
462361 tn?1207858977 I was wondering if taking lunesta would help out. Ive been perscribed it for almost a year now cause ive always had problems sleeping mainly insomnia but would lunesta push any button for my past addiction? As in the percocets?? Just wondering.. seems like RLS and twitching is EVERYONES problem here =/ buhh when will it stopppppp!!!!!!
1201433 tn?1328997637 Bless your heart! I can totally relate to the insomnia! My doctor has me on 7.5 mg of Restoril at this point. It doesn't help me fall asleep but it will help keep me asleep. My sleep schedule is to go to bed around midnight. Lie there for an hour and a half to three hours trying to fall asleep. Then I sleep till 6:30 - get up, take meds, stumble back to bed and sleep until around noon. I nap in the afternoon if I can.
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
