Avatar n tn Which sleep aid is less addicting and less toxic, ambien or lunesta. I have heard ambien is hard on your liver.
Avatar m tn 5mg (half pill), 3mg (full pill), or 4.5mg - one and half pills). I usually do 175mg trazadone plus half pill lunesta for sleep almost every night. i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months. Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related). I also take cialis/viagra as needed for ED that started about 5-6 years ago.
Avatar m tn My doctor offered me Lunesta, but I'm not excited about another pill. I haven't slept much for two weeks and wondered if it was worth a try. Melatonin and Benadryl haven't helped much.
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar f tn ll never get to recovery by slipping a half pill every night. Also, sleeping pills will only make things worse in the long run. Get some aftercare and get into recovery. In the end, it's all worth it.
Avatar n tn I want to taper off xanax. Would it be safe to take half a 1 mg. xanax with 2 mg Lunesta or would I then become dependent on the Lunesta also?
Avatar m tn In my opinion he may be getting too much diazepine and fentanyl. If the evening sleeping pill (lunesta) is given too close to the diazepam there might be problems. The simvastatin and the atenolol and the cymbalta are probably not a problem....... He may well be getting too much pain medicine. Fentanyl, fentora, and opana are all strong pain meds..... depending upon metabolism and times of dose the lunesta and the diazepam may be interacting.
Avatar f tn Hey Sandy is Lyrica better than Lunesta? I'm trying out the Lunesta but I get a metalic flavor after I take it and it doesn't go away till like mid day the next day...
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You. Jeffi.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
1102799 tn?1269237714 LUNESTA!!! Although i have not taken it since being prego ...if your DR ok'd ambien then Lunesta is ok as well. It works MUCH better...i hated Ambien.
Avatar f tn I take Lunesta still 6 week post treatment. It really worked well for me getting thru treatment. I am still struggling with insomnia so I have decided not to worry about letting the Lunesta to for a few more months I hate insomnia!!!
Avatar f tn I haven't slept thru the night in at lest 6 months. Before That, I go thru the same boughts. I awake around 3:00 every morning, wide awake. Go to bed about 11:00, sometimes earlier. No naps when I'm not really depressed in a bad way. I have tried Trazadone, Ambien and Lunesta in the past years. They all keep me awake and once I finally sleep I'm up in the middle of the night wide awake. Any suggestions on a pill to keep me asleep that I can ask my pdoc to try.
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
723660 tn?1247163511 ve started taking a simple benadryl and some melatonin in the evening to help me get to sleep on time, and regulating my dose of caffeine by taking half a caffeine pill and a B-complex in the morning rather than coffee or soda throughout the day.
Avatar f tn ) If this is just another of the same in the meek and mild category for insomniacs as Ambien and Lunesta are, it will act like a placebo for me, and therefore please do not recommend it. Thus, the more I hear, the more I know, and the more I know, the less money I will be throwing away regarding having Rozerum filled for naught, in addition to anteing up big bucks to pay for it. Self-pay patients, a monthly (#30) day supply costs $135.00. Three years ago, Ambien cost $3.00 per pill.
1000729 tn?1253365050 I am still concerned about the half life of the Fent. patch and the fact that it took 9 to 10 days last time I came off the patch... But, I was still on Norc's. and this time I quit the Norc's. a week prior to D-day so i'm hoping the worst is over as far as the w/d's..... I feel less anxious then I did but have been following the Thomas Recipe (not to the "T") with the exception that I didn't just dope up with the Benzo's. the whole time I was w/ding....
Avatar m tn I would agree with ricart....if you are getting even a little natural sleep then your better off staying away from Lunesta....I will also add that one side effect experienced frequently...myself included....is a taste like sucking on a sock full of dirty pennies...eww!!!!
Avatar n tn My doctor said to drop my Xanax to half a pill (which would be .50 mg) for 3 nights (and take 1 mg Lunesta) then move to a .25mg Xanax for 3 nights, then break those in half for .125 mg for 3 days. Then, I'm supposed to continue Lunesta for a while- or forever I guess, if I still have trouble falling asleep. That's my withdrawl plan- maybe you can modify it to work for you. Don't quit cold turkey- I have a friend who did that and things got very ugly for her.
Avatar m tn I'D LIKE TO FIND A SLEEPING PILL THAT IS SAFE FOR THE LIVER EITHER PERSCRITION OR OTC ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Avatar f tn If the pills can be split in half (some tell you not to), you can ask your doctor to prescribe double the strength with instructions to take half a pill. Double strength is usually little to no more expensive per tablet.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed ambien before I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer about 6 weeks ago. It was a miracle pill for 4 days and after that it really didn't help me sleep. It did turn my mind off and slow things down, but sometimes I am still awake hours after taking this. Everyone is different and I sure think that it is worth a try! Good luck with it!
Avatar m tn bouts of fatigue flu-like feeling This has now been going off and on for about 2 and a half months now, and I am terrified. Is this PAWS, or prolonged withdrawal? The symptoms change and go away for a bit only to reappear again. I did go to see a neurologist, cardiologist, and rheumotologist. They found nothing in the brain MRI, nothing in my blood work, etc.
