I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. I have no problems with that and my IOP is well controlled. However, I noticed my PVC's have gone up considerably since taken the drops. At first with only one eye I had about 15,000 per day, now with drops in both eyes they have gone up to almost 30,000 per day. There where no other medication changes during that time.
Lumigan and latisse are the same chemical (bimatoprost). Latisse is suppose to be brushed into the lashes rather than put directly on the eye.
All the medications in this group of glacoma medications stimulate eyelash growth: latanoprost (Xalatan brand name), Travatan-Z, Lumigan and Zioptan.
Now my doctor asked me to also take them in my right eye, but I never had a high IOP in that eye. Does that mean - I did not have a chance to ask him yet - that I have "normal tension Glaukoma" in that eye? If so, could I switch to Beta Blocker drops which apart from being cheaper might also help with my Atrial Fibrillation?
I needed an updated Rx for my glaucoma eyedrops and he switched me from the brand name Lumigan to the generic latanoprost as I had hoped! He mentioned it might help reduce the eye redness that Lumigan can cause. Hopefully it will maintain a similar IOP in my right eye - it was measured as 16 yesterday.
So I was taken off of the glaucoma medication alphagan because it was not working well and caused severe dry eye and floaters and then I was put on and am currently on lumigan 0.01% that helps the pressure but makes the dry eye and floaters still a problem.
For the uveitis I am on pred Forte 0.01% and has caused a slight cataracts.
For my dry eye syndrome, I am allergic to most of the things prescribed to me so I take preservative-free over the counter refresh tears four to six times a day.
regarding Lumigan and others like it, have people experienced growth of eyebrows and hair elsewhere as well like scalp hair? or is there good understanding of the active ingredients,that they can also help brows and scalp hair too?
I am not only thinning fair eyelashes, but also fair hair and eyebrows and in my 40s with only slight graying. so has lumigan been studied long enough to know if fair skinned/hair people get similar darkening and lenghtening benefits?

I have pseudo-exfoliation in left eye. Started out on xalatan, then switched over to Lumigan when I was Glaucoma Suspect with ocular pressure 21-30. Under control low 20's on Lumigan, optic nerve healthy, no visual fields defects on test 5 months ago. s done the computer program will tell you if there is a change. the last time it showed i may have some vision loss in the right eye but he said the vision fields test will show, the problem i have with the vision fields test is i get so anxious,nervous and upset .it makes me ill. over the years i have skipped every 6 months doing and do once a year. not only is it uncomfortable with your shoulders sunken down really low and your body leaning forward.
Hello, My 6 year old son has lost his eyelashes on only his left eye. Both his upper and lower lid has eyelash loss. We noticed this is November and our pediatrician had no knowledge as so why. His blood came back fine. His eyes look normal no red, swelling. He recently went to a local eye doctor which he was diagnosed with blepharitis. He were instructed to wash is eyes 3xs a day and apply eye ointment at bedtime. At the very outer edge he has a few about 10 lashes.
I was given Alphagan P for elevated pressure post cataract surgery in February in addition to some other glaucoma meds I was on prior to the surgery. I developed a very bad red eye, itching aching eyes, crusty dry skin eyelids, and other visible manifestations. In addition, the Alphagan affected my low light/night vision to the point I was having quite a bit of trouble seeing in other than bright outdoor light.
When does baby's eye color change ? My eyes are blue/green/hazel. My husband's are brown and he is half Mexican half white... his white side is from England and UK (related to English royalty) and I am mostly Scottish, Irish, and German. Husband's mom has blonde hair and blue/green eyes and blonde hair blue eyes goes way back down her family tree. It would be so neat for my son to have green eyes like me. My aunt has green eyes. My dad has brown and my mother has olive green eyes ..
Azopt is a great medicine but sometimes expensive. Lumigan I really dislike because it causes red, inflammed, irritated eye, permanent dark circles around the eyelids and orbital fat atrophy with sunken in eyes and droopy lids way too often. Travatan-A is much better, longer acting, lowers IOP more and doesn't cause near the side effects of Lumigan.
additional myopia when it develops where as soft CTL change every time the eye changes. This has to do with the rigid GPCTL not wrapping around the cornea as it becomes steeper.
Stay very very close to highly qualified Eye MD ophthalmologists as you are at risk for a host of eye problems of the retina and due to your glaucoma as you get older.
I guess u can look online thereally is research about eye color, my eyes are veterans hubby's is also bit our last daughter was born with bright grey eyes
It's really hard to say. I always heard that brown was the dominate eye color, but I don't know how much I believe that. My grandmother had brown eyes, but my dad got my grandfather's blue eyes & my niece's mom has brown eyes, but she was born with my brother's blue eyes. The weird thing though, she's 19 now & her eyes are now a lighter brown, but she had the bluest eyes as an infant & toddler.
Darkening around the eyelids, and atrophy of the fat within the socket are extremely rare (they are however very common with Lumigan a stronger, longer lasting medicine in the same family and it is brand name and expensive). Iris color change is only a consideration in iris that are hazel a mix of blue and brown. Over severl years the brown pigment can predominate and the eye can look more brown than hazel. For brown or blue eyes not a problem. Don't drive yourself nuts.
