Avatar n tn I was taking Linzess and it didn't work and they offer a refund as long as you have your receipt and tell them why, etc.? Do you know if the manufacturer who makes Lubiprostone offers a refund if it doesn't work?
Avatar f tn The MAF precursor activity of serum Gc protein of breast cancer patients was lost or reduced because Gc protein was deglycosylated by serum -N-acetylgalactosaminidase (Nagalase) secreted from cancerous cells. Patient serum Nagalase activity is proportional to tumor burden. The deglycosylated Gc protein cannot be converted to MAF, resulting in no macrophage activation and immunosuppression.
Avatar f tn Have they cultured the skin lesions recently to confirm it is still GC? GC is getting very resistant to antibiotics so if you were on one and it didn't get better and they have confirmed it is still GC then they will probably switch antibiotics. I agree a molecular test which requires a urine or swab for the genital area and a swab into the lesions will be the best test.
Avatar n tn Could anyone please tell me what a GC and CT test for urine is testing for? Is this gonorrhea and chlamydia?
947931 tn?1251495088 It will show up on a standard opiate test, but if it is a GC/MS test (the most advanced/prescise drug test to date) then it wont show up. The GC/MS test for opiates only picks up your natural opiates and their metabolites, and Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opiate, so it would not show up on the GC/MS test. But thats besides the point. Im sure it will show up on any standard opiate drug test you can buy from Walgreens/CVS.
Avatar f tn Hi I wonder if your bleeding is really a brown discharge? Although you can bleed with PID. Also, GC can cause PID and GC is becoming very very resistant. It isn't a gram negative cocco bacilli (it is a diplococci) so I wonder if you either still have the GC or got it back from your boyfriend? Is he being treated too? If not you will just keep getting it. You may also have PID caused by a gram negative coccobacillin too or just that. Do you or did you have a fever?
Avatar n tn Other things that cause these organisms to take over or cause infection are change in Ph due to douching,or other changes that cause Ph changes, having Gonorrhoeae can cause this as well. Usually, an infection with GC can go unnoticed and then you are not treated with the proper antibiotics and then get PID. Also, GC is becoming very resistant and it could be that you were not diagnosed properly and then given the wrong antibiotic.
Avatar f tn This is not common - unless the thyroid is out of control -- which yours is not. IF you have autoimmune hypothyroidism (hashimoto's) -- then would ask about autoimmune diseases that effect the esophagus (like scleroderma).
Avatar f tn So, usually they test for both when the test for GC. But best to test for CT if you are getting tested for GC. All of these are less likely to get orally than through genital sex but you can. If the women (your wife gets it she can have no symptoms yet get damages to her female organs. Good news is there is a one dose treatment usually for these two bacteria. Bad news is they are becoming resistant. GC though is less common in straight people so it is really CT you have to worry about.
Avatar m tn The person also said that the previous week they had their PAP and nothing came back. Chlyamidia, GC. I did a little research and found doxycycline to be effective against chlyamidia. I had an ample supply left over for antimalaria purposes. I took 200mg a day for 7 days no improvement and then I got acute epidymitis. I just then hoped the doxy just needed time to take effect. 8 days later embarrassed as I was I went to the most annonymous place I could find. Planned parent hood.
Avatar m tn Back to the past post where I was unsure of what was going on due to a strictly oral exposure...I had a GC and Chl test and was negative. Symptoms are still there though and sometimes worst after a bunch of Bactrim. I and my partner were treated concurrently with Levaquin, 500mg 1 per day, me 30 days and she 7 days. Wouldn't that have also cured any NGU if I had gotten it? You seem knowledgeable...what does NGU discharge look like?
Avatar m tn Perhaps, it is GC that was resistant to the antibiotics you were given and it didn't get killed off entirely by the ceftriaxone. GC is becoming extremely resistant and very hard to treat. It is possible you still have it and need a different antibiotic.Rarely GC can go to other body areas but this is usually when it is untreated or if you are immunocompromised. It is possible that it could also be a different STD that didn't get killed off by the cefrtiaxone.
Avatar f tn Then 20 minutes later they swabed for gc and chly. The doc only put it in abt a half of cm. I really was worried I had just peed and doc didn't insert it far enough. They treated me with a shot and four pills to be taken right then to cure gc and chly. Test came back negative but symptoms continued. Then abt a week after doc, pain started in calves and I had discharge or light brown for 4 days. The pains would only last for a few minutes at a time.
Avatar m tn Went in for my first pre-natal appointment. I just received in my patient portal a test for GC Chlamydia amplified. In the results it says, "site." What does that mean? Am I infected?
Avatar f tn Hi BB: How are you ? I will do all in my power to fight this illness. and to help this community and the patients ,I met during my treatments. I will find out where CTC TEST is done, and get it.I am also research Gc Maf (Gc Macrophage Activating Factor) It is being tested and it is incorporated into the patient's regimen to provide additional inmune support. there is an excellent article in the March issue of Life Extension Magazine. Gc Maf are injections ,for Breast and prostate cancer.
Avatar n tn I was also on my last day of 10 day course of levaquin for a sinus infection. I did test myself for GC 6 days later, because of unprotected oral, I tested for GC on the day I posted the question. The results came back negative. Any chance that the levaquin could have interfered with the GC testing? Also I have been having sore throat for 2 days. Do I need to get tested for pharyngeal gonorrhea? Will I get disseminated Gonorrhea from asymptomatic pharyngeal gonorrhea?
