Avatar f tn But do you think lidocaine infusions will help her along with meds? Her pain is located in a t shirt pattern (not on her chest area). We have literally been everywhere, just thought I would ask your advice.
Avatar f tn Hi, whew, that's rough. I'm sorry! So, first. Lidocaine patches. What about lidocaine cream? It's cheap, REALLY cheap. I've gotten it on Amazon for under 6 dollars a tube. You can spend more as well and it is going to last you and go a lot further than 2 patches. And I use it and it is helpful. You could look for alternatives. They also make a spray, also inexpensive. Ketamine infusions I've heard are pretty amazing.

Avatar f tn I had a follow-up PM appointment today. I haven't seen her in a couple of months. We stopped my Cymbalta about a month ago and it made a HUGE difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. Apparently that wasn't the drug for me, and it makes no difference in my pain, which was the point of going on it to begin with. I had a terrible fibromyalgia flare-up before Thanksgiving. The worst in a long time. To the point I had to crawl up the stairs and go down on my bum.
1425608 tn?1320894142 ve been dealing with nutcracker syndrome, pelvic congestion syndrome, and chronic pelvic pain for 1 1/2 years now. Recently, I was referred to a urogynecologist in Park Ridge, IL. He said I probably have IC and pedundal neuropathy, and before I knew what was going on, the doc jammed a straight catheter into my urethra and injected a mixture of heparin and lidocaine into my bladder. He said it would help ease/numb the pain and wants me to come back once a week for 6 weeks to have this done.
Avatar m tn Have you had any procedures, like lidocaine infusions or stellate ganglion blocks? I,ve had limited help with those. RSD is a very painful condition and very hard to treat. Definitely life changing.
Avatar f tn I have had severe pain that started in my wrists about 2 weeks ago. I have psoriasis and I have had tendonitis, so I thought it was just those things bothering me. However, over the next few days, the pain got worse and then my fingers started swelling. About 5 days after it started I went to the ER one night because my left arm, from my shoulder to my fingers hurt really bad and had increased in pain and swelling all day. The ER dr.
Avatar f tn Thank you very much for writing back in such detail. My point in asking about the lidocaine is that, of course every medication administered is going to have side effects. My concern was, the way you first mentioned lidocaine sounded so disparaging. I was concerned that without giving further detail about your concerns about lidocaine, it might sound to an average person like taking lidocaine under any circumstances could be potentially lethal. The fact is, it's not.
Avatar f tn I have had (and still do) have severe morning sickness to the point were my potassium is quite low (potassium controls the heart) and they have talked about admitting me to give me infusions (IV) why would he want to wait 2 weeks when my bloods are getting worse? Im already on supplements . Im stressed :( I feel like ringing the clinic and requesting they see me next week rather then rush me in for a caesarean . Am I over reacting?
Avatar n tn I also am B-12 deficient. I had 2 additional infusions within the next few years. In March 2008 my doctor said I was anemic and I went back to the same hematologist. He said I was not anemic and could not help me. In March 2009, I was told my hemoglobin was 10 (not too low), but my ferritin level was 4. I went to a differnt hematologist and she said I would have to get iron infusions the rest of my life. I have had no energy for years, and thought this was how my life would be forever.
Avatar m tn Not sure where your pain is or what kind of pain it is, but I use topical prescription gels, lidoderm patches, and have had several procedures, like lidocaine infusions. I still have to go on narcotics for a time due to the pain increasing my BP and not being able to get it down. Acupuncture is something I wanted to try but could not get approval through my worker's comp insurance.
721523 tn?1331581802 s impostant to understand that steroids cause you to retain (sodium) and lose potassium in your urine. I recommend restricting your 1) sodium intake, 2) keeping your fluid intake at normal or higher rates, 3) getting exercise (if you can - walking is fine) and 4) taking a potassium supplement, especially if you have extra heart beats or muscle cramps. 1) The kidneys are directed to retain the salt. They will have a tendency to do this for about a week after the last dose.
Avatar n tn t throw up the medication. Before discovering maxalt, she tried lidocaine infusions. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that they can drip into your nasal passages and it goes up into the brain and effectively numbs the migraine. It is a temporary fix when instant relief is needed. But perhaps a lidocaine infusion with some take home prescription migraine medication will work wonders for you.
Avatar m tn To treat Chlamydia and Enterococcus my doctor is treating me with antibiotic infusions (as this is not the first treatment, the first time treatment was peroral). After 10 days of infusions, he is making 3 injections with antibiotics directly in the prostate. It's one injection per week. Could you please give me any opinion on such injections ? Is this a normal/good treatment ?
Avatar f tn The data regarding the benefits of Zometa continue to be encouraging but final results are still pending. In our practice recommendations for Zometa or drugs in this class has to do with risk or or known osteopenia or osteonecrosis with the POSSIBLE added benefit of reducing risk of recurrence. These drugs are indicated to strengthen bones and any other benefit may be a bonus. You should have a discussion with your doctor about your own risks versus benefits.
8958586 tn?1481360712 Thanks for your replies everyone. It's been awhile since I've been to this site and didn't even realize I had answers. I was admitted to the hospital after an accidental overdose when I was taking too much clonazepam to get through appointments and bad days. Since I wrote this, I still have yet to be diagnosed with Bipolar, simply because i have a new psychiatrist. I was started on Latuda while I was in hospital, but it didn't work for me and was too expensive.
Avatar f tn For nearly two years I have had experienced severe to chronic pain in my right eye. Over the past two years, I have seen 4 doctors, including opthamologists, optometrists, and I am currently seeing a neuro-ophthalmologist. I have had a multitude of tests including 2 MRI's. Recently I have been experiencing floaters when I have the pain. The pain is becoming more frequent and more severe. At times I also experience a sharp line of pain straight through my brain.
4848471 tn?1372238752 Finally done with the solumedrol, I took the other two infusions in the hospital and even though my heart got a little fast (117 at the worst) I was otherwise okay.Unfortunately, the hug is still there, and my symptoms overall feel the same. I'm VERY hungry today, and I woke up in a very cheery and happy mood.(It didn't help my hug or anything else but lifted my depression, what the hell?) The nurses managed to bend my IV line, and I got stuck in three different places.
Avatar m tn only 1/4 inch came out so a good 1/2 inch is still in there i can see it thru the nail. Has anyone here used it before? And did it help? I tried to use it last night but it wouldnt stick to my neck.
Avatar f tn I had been on gabapentin and stopped thinking it wasn’t doing much. In hindsight, I am not sure of the timing and whether it had been keeping nerve pain at bay. Now I am on Lyrica 150 mg a day moving up to 300 mg a day. I have taken cymbalta in the past and it didn’t do much. Gabapentin lotion does not help. NSAIDs do not do anything. Only Percocet helps and only a little bit. My physiatrist is starting to think that I should try ketamine infusions.
Avatar f tn However, the last infusion was not followed with Prednisone and it was the worst few weeks I have ever been through as the pain in my head did not abate (which was the main reason for the infusion in the first place) and I started having pain I think was related to Trigeminal Neuralgia in my face and gums. It was horrible. I also started to have severe fatigue upon awakening in the morning which is very frustrating.
