lialda missed dose

I have just started taking Lialda. I previously took Asacol. I enjoy the Lialda because I was taking 3 pills three times a day with Asacol and now I only take 4 pills once a day with Lialda. I haven't been on the Lialda for very long, but so far the results are good. I'm not sure that it is better than Asacol, but I think it is easier and equal in performance. You might ask your doctor if they have any prescription cards for Lialda.

Last November, I had another flare that lasted 4 months (I never lost a pound even though I was eating very little). The doctor quadrupled my dose of Lialda, and again more weight gain around my stomach and nowhere else. This is very frustrating. I have always been a very thin person and do not like looking like I am pregnant when I am not! Has anyone else had this issue with Lialda. How about knee pain? Itching? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! I recently had a Colonoscopy to find out what is going on with me.. I have had bloody diarrhea, dizziness, muscle aches/pains, fatigue and nausea for the past 9 months. The Dr. said that he saw some inflammation in the left side of my colon and took some Biopsies. Is this how he can tell if it is Crohn's or UC? Can't he tell just by the imaging through the Colonoscopy? What can they determine under a scope? Also, he prescribed me Lialda 2x's a day..

My 16y/o daughter has UC. Has been on Lialda 2.4 g/day for 6 months. She was on prednisone for the first 4 months of the same time period. Has had significant hair loss for the last 5 months. Cortisol AM is normal. My duaghter also has ITP and is considered chronic, it usually manifests during a UC flare up. Is the Lialda a possible culprit.

I was put on lialda when I started having an alergic reaction to sulpha drugs. I main question is that I now have a bad taste in my mouth. Is this from the lialda?

I was told that I have inflamation in my small intestine after having the pill cam done so I was put on Lialda. It works great. I have actually been able to go to the bathroom without Milk of Magnesia or other stool softeners. I have noticed that I have gained alot of weight in a short time though. About 10 pounds in 2-3 weeks. Has anyone experienced weight gain with this medication? Is this just water retention? I am not happy about it!

I am currently taking lialda 2 capsules twice a day. I basically stopped taking the lialda because it made me feel worse than I already was. My question is is there a reason why the lialda makes me have pain in my gut. Are there any other new meds out there of UC? Are there any new surgeries to cure UC?

I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?

If someone missed synthroid for 4 days, is it ok to take all the missed doses together? A friend went away and forgot their synthroid medication at home.

Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?

s for the last 5yrs and am on 5mg of Prednisone/day as well just being switched to Lialda 2.4gms/day (from Pentasa 4gms/day) one month ago. I was started on Famvir today-500mg tid. I am leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday and am scheduled to swim with the dolphins on Thursday. I have completed my first full day's dose of medicine and will continue until the prescription is completed. I am then staying on a maintenance dose of 250mg/day until I can get the vaccine in 6mos at age 60.

I started taking Lialda in August, 2008, and took it (3-1g tabs once per day) for 5 months before I got better. However, I am not sure whether to credit the Lialda or the Flora-Q I began taking after three months into my treatment. I have lymphocytic colitis so this may not pertain directly to your diagnosis, but I hope it helps.

so i missed my dose of rivoferion last night fell asleep noticed this morning that i didnt take it. so nov.11th is is my last dose,by missing this dose did i just screw up my tx.i sure hope not!!!! and this is the first x.

just one missed dose will do nothing, i also remember tdf halflife is very long so even a missed dose is safer on this drug

I missed taking my zoloft by 15 hours. (I'm supposed to take my 50mg at 12 midnight and I didn't remember until 3pm the next day). I took the missed dose at that time (3pm)....I JUST NOW relized that I should have just waited until tonight at 12midnight to take it. So, since I took it at 3pm, what should I do? If I take it at the scheduled time tonight then that would be 2 doses in just 9 hours. How do I get back on schedule of taking it at 12 midnight?

No, if he missed a dose yesterday, then he missed that dose. Do not try to make it up today. Ribavirin has a long half life so his blood level should be okay as long as he does not keep missing doses.

Yup. GB is right. It won't matter that you missed a dose. If you'd been in the first few weeks it might have made a difference, but not now. The official literature from Roche for Copegus says that if you remember on the same day, take the missed dose when you remember, otherwise consult your doctor. It's not bad advice. You could give your doc (or the nurse) a call.

I just returned from a conference where this was discussed. The doctor says take the missed dose as soon as you can, then resume your normal schedule. Synthroid is in our system for an extended time, so missing one is not going to upset things too much. Even two missed doses can be taken together.

I missed a dose once and I had no problem. my progesterone level was good.

I take 1.25mg of clonazepam daily- 0.25mg during the day and 1mg at night. Last night I fell asleep and woke up at 5am to find out that I've missed last night's dose. I immediately took 0.5mg- i didn't want to take the whole 1mg because that would bring today's total to 2.25mg, instead of 1.25mg. Do you think I'm going to have problems today? Thank you.

You are not the only one who has ever missed a dose!! So don't beat yourself up over it...and you are not "stupid" : ) We all have done it one time or another. You will feel better, trust me!!!! Been there and done that!

Just saw this message. Tell him to continue normal dosage. He should NOT double dose any days to make up the missed days. Chances are, nothing will happen. He would have needed to miss many more days than 2 in a row to have issues. I have missed a dose here and there by accident and have been fine since. It's not the end of the world. Body responds just fine but tell him to try not to miss any more.

hi there yes i have uc and bowel sounds are quite normal for me as soon as i eat? then i have to go on the loo !!

I tried to do the same thing with getting my Lialda medication but they never replied back to my paperwork or anything. I am going to try again this year to see if I can get it.
