Avatar m tn Sigh...I tried Lialda for a month...the headaches were insane! My doc switched me to Asacol...my body wouldn't absorb them. So, I'm on my third med...Apriso...$248 for a one month supply! I don't see any real difference with anything so far...
Avatar f tn Last November, I had another flare that lasted 4 months (I never lost a pound even though I was eating very little). The doctor quadrupled my dose of Lialda, and again more weight gain around my stomach and nowhere else. This is very frustrating. I have always been a very thin person and do not like looking like I am pregnant when I am not! Has anyone else had this issue with Lialda. How about knee pain? Itching? Any help is greatly appreciated.
1070971 tn?1299614110 I started on Lialda in February 2009....gained 10-15 pounds within 3 weeks. I have always been thin, I didn't even gain weight when I was on steroids! I have been working out and watching what I eat, but I can't seem to shed the pounds I gained. I even had a flare-up this winter (I usually drop 10-20 pounds during a flare) and didn't lose a single pound. I can't find any information about Lialda and weight gain.
Avatar m tn I basically stopped taking the lialda because it made me feel worse than I already was. My question is is there a reason why the lialda makes me have pain in my gut. Are there any other new meds out there of UC? Are there any new surgeries to cure UC?
1269644 tn?1270486006 I have had bloody diarrhea, dizziness, muscle aches/pains, fatigue and nausea for the past 9 months. The Dr. said that he saw some inflammation in the left side of my colon and took some Biopsies. Is this how he can tell if it is Crohn's or UC? Can't he tell just by the imaging through the Colonoscopy? What can they determine under a scope? Also, he prescribed me Lialda 2x's a day.. Anyone taking this have any side effects? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have been on Lialda for almost a year and recently noticed hair loss. Since I am also bruising very easily, it could be more related to an underlying anemia, not necessarily the Lialda itself.
Avatar f tn I have had for several days now facial pain more on the right side and traveling pain throughtout my body. I wake up feeling great and as the day progresses I start to feel run down, fatigue, my face starts to hurt, my lips hurt sometimes, then my head will start to hurt like it feels like its burning inside, travels in my toes, fingers, arms, legs, feet, hands and this will last for hours. Then I will be fine for a while and then it will start all over again. I do have UC as well.
Avatar n tn I started taking Lialda in August, 2008, and took it (3-1g tabs once per day) for 5 months before I got better. However, I am not sure whether to credit the Lialda or the Flora-Q I began taking after three months into my treatment. I have lymphocytic colitis so this may not pertain directly to your diagnosis, but I hope it helps.
Avatar m tn Fast forward about 4 years. Still having lots of diarrhea and pain, and have progressed to passing some blood and lots of mucus. I'll go and pass nothing BUT blood-streaked mucus. Repeated colonoscopy was negative except for a bleeding internal hemorrhoid. Ok, fine. Go forward a few more years. Things have gotten even worse.
Avatar m tn s for the last 5yrs and am on 5mg of Prednisone/day as well just being switched to Lialda 2.4gms/day (from Pentasa 4gms/day) one month ago. I was started on Famvir today-500mg tid. I am leaving for Hawaii on Wednesday and am scheduled to swim with the dolphins on Thursday. I have completed my first full day's dose of medicine and will continue until the prescription is completed. Avatar n tn I don't know what meds you're taking but often the drug companies have assistance programs and will provide you with discounts and even free medications. Years ago, I was between insurance coverage and couldn't afford Lipitor, and I just had to have my doctor fill out a paper, prove my income, and they covered all the expenses.
Avatar f tn s very stabbing and also I have lower back pain. The later after I drink and eat something and do my daily work it disappears for the rest of the day. Sometimes in between I feel a pinch on both sides but that is not so troubling. I am so feeling dizzy especially in the morning and late evening. Could anyone please help me out with this. It would be highly appreciated.
Avatar n tn t appear to be in a specific spot (general abdominal discomfort and what sometimes feels like swelling). The pain is pretty much always there, but varies from very mild to severe (causing me to leave work on two occasions). It's frequently worst right when I wake up and I’ve noticed that sleep/lying on my stomach will cause severe pain after a while.
Avatar f tn I was on Asacol for many years, but my new insurance company made we switch to Lialda a couple of months ago (three 1.2GM tablets 1x daily). I am also on Lisinopril (20mg 1x), Rosuvastatin (10mg 1x), and Citalopram (20mg, 1x). In addition to prescription meds, I also take one vitamin D3 (2000 IU) daily, as well as two 650mg Acetaminophen tablets. I tend to pay a lot of attention to my liver, since I had a good friend pass away of liver cancer at an early age.
Avatar f tn I agree with lizziecee. I'm on Cimzia, lialda and folic acid. When I have a flare to help reduce inflammation too,is to try to stay on clear, or soft diet.Applesauce, pudding, boullion, apple juice. Just give the intestines a rest for little bit. Good luck, and feel better.
Avatar n tn I always have white and light yellow mucus after I have a bowel movement, diarrhea, or after passing alot of gas. I think I have to rush to the bathroom and then all that comes out is bunches of the mucus, stringy like mucus and other foreign looking mucousy stuff. Is this something I need to ask my doctor about--its it IBS? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar f tn I have hashi and joint pain, muscle ache, stiff body, frozen shoulder. You get a feeling as if joints are connected in a crude manner. When you have prolonged pains like this, our brain tries to avoid any movement that can cause pain. This kind of makes you less mobile and lethargic...
Avatar f tn She did blood tests and did an ultrasound all blood tests came back normal and no blood clots. The pain in my muscles has taken over my whole body, it hurts to walk, carry my 4 month old son (who I almost dropped last night), bend over and basically move. I went into the emergency room one day because it was really hard to swallow and i couldn't feel my throat. The ER doc gave me some vicidan for the pain and it didn't help at all.
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone, I came down with a mild flu roughly 11 weeks ago and have suffered with muscle and ligament pain from cramps, tightness and aches ever since granted it has improved since it began so that I'm not in constant pain all day like I was but I have muscles that since this whole thing started have pulled tight and remained that way, I get quick sharp pains usually in my legs and arms ( like the muscle is about to cramp but doesnt ) cramps on and off that leave my muscles sore particul
539478 tn?1296621012 I've had muscle & joint pain for many years & knew it was my thryoid but only recently have finally been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I now also have hypothyroidism. I've had back pain for many years which is why I became a personal trainer & fitness instructor to fight the pain. I am 36.
Avatar f tn t talked to you before, but I would like to say hi and give you some advice about joint and muscle pain. I am sorry you are having these problems, I feel for you. I have Stills disease which is a arthritis kind of like rheumatoid arthritis, it is very painful. Do your joints become hot, warm, red, swollen or tender? Are you running any kind of fever? Do you have any rashes? Are both of the legs or arms affected or just one side? Have you tried naproxen? Meloxicam? Flexeril? Baclofen?
Avatar f tn Well I went to see an oesteopath and he said that he thinks that I do have carpal tunnel...but the numbness and tingling was also happening in my feet (I forgot to mention that in my post). So, honestly, I really didn't think it was carpal. The thing is that I have had this muscle pain since February and I didn't start exercising until about a month ago. I hate not knowing what is wrong with me. It's just a horrible muscle pain, and it makes me feel so tired too!
Avatar m tn ve been having very bad muscle pain and weakness in my legs and was wondering what I might be able to take to help ease these symptoms before I see the Endo. It's making me hard to get up and down from my desk at work. Thank you.
