Avatar f tn i am really concerned about my feet as they are constantly aching and the soles of my feet feel inflammed. i have been taking 125 levothyroxine for over 6 months now and thought that once i started taking the medication that this feeling would go. most of my other symptoms of hypothroidism have now gone, apart from the aching feet which is getting worse. so much so that it keeps me awake at nught and i dread getting up to do a days work with my achy feet.
Avatar f tn I have had nothing but pain since I started taking it...The top of my foot has pain constantly and both thumbs in the fatty part toward my wrist. Now I have shoulder pain radiating down my arm and can hardly sleep at night. Tylonol doesn't touch it... Is it due to my thyroid? What is going on....my doctor seems unconcerned. says my foot was tendiitious....My fingers also hurt and thought that to be artritius but maybe not.
955035 tn?1246539172 I experience night sweats, constant hip and low back pain, foot pain, infrequent abdominal pains (not sure if this is from the hip/back pain). Additionally, I have on occasion I have noticed a strange, ammonia-like taste in my mouth/sinus that reminds me of a strong urine scent from a litter box (sorry, only way to explain it). I have had issues with facial hair since my early 20’s and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
Avatar f tn I have had hashimoto for the past 10 years and after my TSH levels were consistanly high on my last 3 blood test the Endo told me that I am starting to stay Hypo, and so I started on .50 levothyroxine.. Towards the end of Sept. i started getting pain in my left hip, which got so severe by Oct. that i went to an Orthopedic who said I had bursitis.
Avatar f tn I had thyroid removed 6/21 and been on Tirosint (levothyroxine) and I have excruciating pain in left hip for months and now right hip! They say bursitis. I’m going for pain block in lower lumbar because I do have 3 bulging discs.
Avatar f tn Over time, the pain has traveled to both of my calves, thighs, hands, feet, arm, and headaches. The pain is sharp and stabbing which lasts anywhere from 1 minute to hours in one location then moves to another area of the body. To make matters worse, the last 6 months I have developed painless muscle twitching in my face, fingers, and toes. My cardiologist ran tests and I have an arrhythmia, but cannot be on beta blockers since my normal blood pressure is 80/60.
Avatar f tn 2 x 1.1 cm, and a smaller 8 mm solid nodule. TSH was now 15.4. I was put on levothyroxine 25 mcg at that time. 1 month later, TSH 9.4. started on 50 mcg of levo. Since starting levothyroxine, i have had continuous pain in my neck, and have gained a few pounds. I have also noticed more fatigue. 2 weeks ago, i had labs checked after I requested additional thyroid testing. TSH is back in normal range, but microsomal TPO antibody was greater than 1,000, suggesting Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Avatar f tn In addition, there has been a shortage of Armour lately and the formula has changed in the pill, so my DR wrote me an RX for cytomel 5mcg twice in the AM and levothyroxine 0.05MG one in the AM as a back up ( in case I cant get my Armour RX filled ) Is it OK to switch from Armour to the cytomel/levothyroxine and is the dosage equivalent ? I notice when I take my Armour, I feel very hot/warm and somewhat irritable afterwards for a few hours. Is that a normal side effect?
Avatar f tn ve started having really badly shoulder neck pain and this horrible heavy fuzzy headache and lightheaded is it the mix medication.
Avatar n tn hello. is it safe to take methylsulphonylmethane supplements and levothyroxine? do you guys ever heard of any interaction between those? Im taking cranberry pills aswell i would like to hear from you if cranberry interact with levo, or theres no need to be worried here....
Avatar m tn I have another question regarding Levothyroxine. I've been on it for 5 weeks now and for the most part the only positive difference I've noticed is having more energy. The cons of things I've been feeling are muscle pains, menstrual cycle changes and digestion. Can Levothyroxine cause constipation or mess up your digestion in any way? I've been having a lot of abdominal pain for the past week and my stomach is just gurgling really loudly when I eat.
Avatar m tn Are you sure your foot pain is thyroid related? I understand that the foot pain has improved on your current meds, but increasing thyroid hormone levels can to some extent "make up for" or mask other deficiencies (at least temporarily). Have you had your B-12 level tested? Ignoring the FT3:RT3 ratio for a moment and just looking at your other current labs, the only thing that jumps out at me as something you might do differently is raise your very low FT4 level.
Avatar f tn I am still waiting for results from blood work that was done this week but they did include CBC and Thyroid (I have hypothyroidism and take Levothyroxine daily); my iron levels and blood sugar have been normal in years past. Your words on positional sciatica are reassuring, I do feel better when doing yoga and stretching, but will consider pursuing a nerve conduction study as well.
Avatar m tn Inadequate levothyroxine dosage will produce or fail to ameliorate the signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism. Hypersensitivity reactions to inactive ingredients have occurred in patients treated with thyroid hormone products. These include urticaria, pruritus, skin rash, flushing, angioedema, various GI symptoms (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea), fever, arthralgia, serum sickness and wheezing. Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine itself is not known to occur.
Avatar f tn It started to hurt every time I would walk long distances and would feel like I had my socks bunched up under my toes. It graduated to constant ball of foot pain with numbness in the ball of foot and toes with tenderness between the metatarsal bones on both feet. Has anyone ever had this or currently has the same symptoms? I have been to my GP who thinks it is a foot issue. I have an appointment with an Orthopedic, but could not get an appointment until April.
1303999 tn?1279581926 Neck sensitivity and irritation. Leg and foot pain. Scalp acne (this drives me nuts, it is very painful). And again with the brain fog. It seems that it when I start a new dosage the symptoms are alieviated for a few weeks and then come back. Is this normal? Also some days I will feel GREAT and others I am back to rock bottom. I am going to have to drop out of school until I can get this under control.
Avatar f tn So a week after my pcp appt, which happened to be this past thursday, I felt really bad. I was so spaced out and heavyheaded with so much pain in my head and neck. Everytime i shook my head or turned it, I felt dizzy. So i went to the ER again and was diagnosed with vertigo. I was given prescriptions for vertigo and for possible inflammation in my inner ear. The docs ruled out my brain because i had an mri done which came back "normal". I decided not to take any of the meds.
Avatar n tn Its a pain but you have to stay on top of this. Its your health and nobody can take better care of you than you. Make an appointment with your doc and tell everything and get your blood labs done so you can see where you are at. Post your results here and we can helop you with thime if you dont understand them. This place is a great resource to learn all you can so you can be as educated as possilbe about your thyroid. Stay in touch.
Avatar f tn im 51 and just started to have foot and toe pain, i seem to have some kinda of reddish blueish rash on my feet, which is more just on the sides up to my little toes on both feet, its not raised, but does seem to itch just a little, but the pain can be over bearing most of the time, it has effected my 5th toe on my left foot., my big toes are somewhat red to, ive been to my dr.
Avatar f tn Since I was fifteen, I had swelling and a horrible cramping pain in one of my calves. I went to the doctor for it and he said there was no cause he could find, and I was checked for blood clots and did not have any. Every once in a while the cramping will come back, and it is usually after I consume alcohol. I have also been experiencing a burning sensation throughout my body since the last time I drank alcohol a few days ago. Is it possible my body is reacting this way due to the alcohol?
Avatar n tn I then stopped my daily dose of synthroid and the pain is getting better. I have a hard time believing that the two could be related. My research just shows that leg cramps may be a side effect but have found nothing about arm pain (and only one arm at that). I would really appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks so much.
