xyzal

Avatar n tn Xyzal) for my allergies, I skipped it this morning since I was going in for a blood test and urine test, but I did take a dose yesterday. Will Levocetirizine affect the outcome of the test in any way? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Hydoxyzine worked wonders for me (once I got a high enough dose). I take 25 - 50 mg. every 6 hours. I had a bad rash all over my body except my face and buttocks and it stopped the itching and is clearing the rash. I wish they would have started it in Dec,. but it seems with these side effects we are all re-inventing the wheel. The docs seem clueless.
Avatar n tn For burning throat, gargle with salt water immediately and keep doing it. Take Montelukast+levocetirizine for 10 days one daily(0-0-1) preferably night. take multivitamins and gargle with Tantum before food, betadine(1:5) and hydrogen peroxide(1:10) after food for three days. Take dichlo for pain relieving for 2 days(1-0-1). If symptoms persist, rush to the ENT specialist.
Avatar m tn I'm allergic and I know it! I've been allergic ever since I was a little boy and I've learned to live with that. My problem is that during the last couple of years, I seem to get more and more sensitive to the allergens that trigger my reactions, as well as more prone to have shortness of breath as a primary reaction! This year, although spring hadn't affected me so far, I happened to catch a cold (whether it was the flu, a cold or bacterial infection I don't know!

Avatar m tn why then are berry fruits recommended, even though they have Tannins, which are beneficial, but their insoluble fiber to soluble fiber ratio are significantly greater. same for almonds and nuts, as can be seen in links: http://commonsensehealth.com/soluble-fiber-insoluble-fiber-foods-list/ http://huhs.harvard.edu/assets/File/OurServices/Service_Nutrition_Fiber.pdf are they recommended by some people because each person has a unique intestinal flora.
3867523 tn?1348949685 I've heard several places that a fiber supplement is helpful to control the diarrhea discomfort from incivek. I've also heard to make sure that you use a water-soluble one, but none of them say water soluble. They say soluble fiber supplement. Are all of these water soluble. I don't want to take something that will absorb my incivek.
Avatar m tn t like oatmeal, you can get soluble fiber in other ways. If the whole idea of increasing your soluble fiber is a turn-off, you can focus on other aspects of healthy living.
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar m tn How are medicines, in the form of pills that are not water soluble, absorbed by the body? An example is curcumin.
Avatar m tn Herbal extractions are formulations that separate the soluble active medicinal and flavor components out of the inert, fibrous material of the herb. These may be used in cooking, for example, vanilla extract, and in health care as herbal teas or tinctures. The various techniques that have been developed over the centuries extract active constituents from the herb, to make them available to the body.
Avatar f tn Vitamin c is water soluble, so any excess you would excrete through your urine. Vitamin d is fat soluble and the excess is absorbed by your body. Too much of a fat soluble vitamin can lead to toxicity, so i would talk to the pharmacist to see what levels are safe to consume.
Avatar f tn She prescribed me levocetirizine. Its a newer allergy medication and supposively the best! Its class B which is in same caterogory as benedryl. I'm telling you I have been through 14 bottles of afrin and have not been able to go anywhere without my tissues. I have taken one so far and not one tissue today!
Avatar f tn fat soluble, such as A, D, E or K, and water soluble, including all of the B vitamins and vitamin C. Fat-soluble vitamins stay in your body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are absorbed immediately, with any excess being excreted in urine.
Avatar m tn Hi, so when you say 'loads of fiber', what are you eating? Do you know too much soluble fiber will CAUSE constipation? https://www.webmd.com/diet/features/insoluble-soluble-fiber Not all fiber is the same. Things like oatmeal, beans, apples are soluble fiber. Also, found in supplements. Another reason is that although we have the right amount of fiber, we aren't doing the other things that aid in normal BM's. This includes proper hydration. Do you drink a lot?
Avatar n tn Just going out in the sun at peak hours should do it unless you're having some problem synthesizing it. It's fat soluble, so it stores in the liver, meaning it should register fairly quickly and stay up unlike water soluble vitamins that leave the body quickly and have to be replenished more rapidly.

Avatar n tn Too late to help now, but Ashwagandha doesn't do anything all that profound that it would affect you that much, unless you overdosed, in case you should have seen a physician. Herbs contain two kinds of chemcials -- fat soluble, and water soluble. The water soluble leave the body quickly, the fat soluble slowly, as they're stored in fatty tissue.
2075737 tn?1379447682 Folic acid is a B vitamin, so you won't hurt yourself by taking more. (It is water soluble, so can't build up in your system, unlike A for example which is fat-soluble and can build up to levels that are considered to be too much. With water-soluble vitamins, you just pee out the excess.) Therefore, if you want to take two folic acid tablets a day rather than one until you have a chance to talk to the doc, it would not harm you or the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Generally, toxic levels of vitamins are achieved through high supplement intake and not from dietary sources. Toxicities of fat-soluble vitamins result also can be caused by a large intake of highly fortified foods, but foods rarely deliver dangerous levels of water-soluble vitamins.[1] The Dietary Reference Intake recommendations from the United States Department of Agriculture define a "tolerable upper intake level" for most vitamins.
Avatar f tn I thought fiber was the answer. It is, but not all fiber. The fiber that works for people like us is soluble fiber, not insoluble fiber. The difference is that fiber on the outside of the apple, the skin, is insoluble fiber. The stuff inside is soluble fiber. Wheat is good for other people, not us! It is insoluble fiber. Insoluble fiber will cause cramping, increased pooping, and discomfort. Soluble fiber hydrates and balances water absoption in the intestines.
