Levocetirizine sedation

Common Questions and Answers about Levocetirizine sedation

xyzal

Avatar n tn Xyzal) for my allergies, I skipped it this morning since I was going in for a blood test and urine test, but I did take a dose yesterday. Will Levocetirizine affect the outcome of the test in any way? Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Hydoxyzine worked wonders for me (once I got a high enough dose). I take 25 - 50 mg. every 6 hours. I had a bad rash all over my body except my face and buttocks and it stopped the itching and is clearing the rash. I wish they would have started it in Dec,. but it seems with these side effects we are all re-inventing the wheel. The docs seem clueless.
Avatar n tn Note that most antihistamines cause reduced level of alertness and even overt sedation and these effects are enhanced by alcohol. You can take a newer antihistamine, such as levocetirizine, that does not enter the brain or even cetrizine. Do not even consider benadryl or diphenhydramine preparations as they depress your central nervous system reflexes.
Avatar n tn For burning throat, gargle with salt water immediately and keep doing it. Take Montelukast+levocetirizine for 10 days one daily(0-0-1) preferably night. take multivitamins and gargle with Tantum before food, betadine(1:5) and hydrogen peroxide(1:10) after food for three days. Take dichlo for pain relieving for 2 days(1-0-1). If symptoms persist, rush to the ENT specialist.
Avatar m tn I'm allergic and I know it! I've been allergic ever since I was a little boy and I've learned to live with that. My problem is that during the last couple of years, I seem to get more and more sensitive to the allergens that trigger my reactions, as well as more prone to have shortness of breath as a primary reaction! This year, although spring hadn't affected me so far, I happened to catch a cold (whether it was the flu, a cold or bacterial infection I don't know!
Avatar m tn Runnning nose and watery eyes and i have taken levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5mg... it seems better but my head has become heavy after taking the medicine.. please advice and can i take steam ? what are the precautions that needs to be taken ?
Avatar n tn These include levocetirizine, loratidine etc. this can be combined with nasal decongestants (combination are available) and should be taken against prescription. Take care and regards.
1677180 tn?1304453354 I'm not sure about the sedation methods commonly used in various states. I can tell you, though, that for my own cataract surgery here in Illinois I was given a dose of Valium (in pill form) along with the usual numbing eye drops. I didn't think I needed the Valium, and as it turmed out I was awake and quite alert during the surgery (Valium notwithstanding). However, my eye surgeon told me that the surgery center was pretty insistent on using Valium sedation.
Avatar n tn . I had gas and gas pain for many years and had bad experience using sedation. I have to do EGD and colonoscopy, But I have seen several doctors in ut, all they only use sedation for my colonoscope and EGD. Anybody know a GI doc in UT supports colonoscopy sedation-free?
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
746512 tn?1388807580 I have the option of doing it with or without sedation. I was wondering if anyone has any stories or opinions for which is better.
Avatar n tn Got question is it possible or should I say can one have a colonoscopy without sedation? And if not what is the best possible way to have this done being awake without discomfort.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have "conscious sedation" for a colonoscopy without having amnesia of the experience ? I don't mind being relaxed & sleepy, but I do NOT want my memory stolen from me (even if it is just 10-15 minutes). Thank you.
Avatar f tn She prescribed me levocetirizine. Its a newer allergy medication and supposively the best! Its class B which is in same caterogory as benedryl. I'm telling you I have been through 14 bottles of afrin and have not been able to go anywhere without my tissues. I have taken one so far and not one tissue today!
Avatar m tn I would have one done without the sedation, but doctors (and outpatient) clinics insist that it must be done with sedation and that it is safer that way. Safer for who?
Avatar m tn After reading the many colonoscopy horror stories and problems with sedation associated with it; I was less than anxious to get a colonoscopy. But the symptoms persisted and I met with several GI docs; they did not listen to any of my questions, ubt insisted that I get a colonoscopy immediately. When I told them that I didn't want sedation, they said that was impossible and basically told me to get lost.
Avatar m tn I have reasd a lot about colonoscopy and want to get one without drugs; I had conscious sedation for dental work (versed) and really freaked out and it still scares me when it when I think about it. Googling "versed problems" brings up hundreds of people who have had the same, so I'm not alone. And only in the USA do they "insist" on sedation for colonoscopy.
Avatar m tn Throat was sore for a few days. Bottom line was no sedation to recover from. You can ask for light sedation. Never totally out. Have done that also. When I do it again, I will go no sedation. I have no experience with no sedation with the lower end. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Endoscopy is safe, but almost all of the risk (drug effects or perforation) is caused by the sedation. Most docs insist on sedation; but if you schedule the exam and show up prepped and tell them no sedation (don't sign the consent) most will obey your wishes. I am not advocating doing these tests unsedated; I just think that patients should have a choice.
Avatar f tn I scheduled a colonoscopy without sedation (I had terrible long-term memory loss from Versed previously so I now decline all sedation). The doctor told me that she had no problem with doing the colonoscopy unsedated (several of her GI doctor friends get their colonoscopies unsedated), but I had a problem with the anesthesia nurse. The CRNA told me that an unsedated exam was "impossible" and she got upset when I disagreed.
Avatar f tn When I arrived to my appointment a nurse came in and put the oxygen tubes in my nose and hooked up my IV, but she never administered the sedation, she just got me all set up. She said the doctor would be in to talk to me before they administered the sedation, and sure enough the doctor came in shortly there after. He chatted with me briefly and then he said that one of the weird side effects to the sedation was an "itchy groin".
