Now this year it has happened again, and another specialist again has diagnosed it as insect bite. I do not under stand why insect bite would happen in the same part of body twice (it repeated on a much lesser extent in feet also) !!! The Doc has suggested me Fluticasone creame, an anti allergic (levocetirizine ) and an anti-biotic.
Please advise what I gotta do, and is he treating it as insect bite really!?
For the last couple weeks, I've been getting continuous insect bites. They are small, reddish bumps on my skin that are mostly appearing on my arms and legs, and they itch like a flea or mosquito bite. They itch for about an hour, and then fade after a day or so. I shower daily and wash my clothing regularly, so I have no idea where this is coming from, and they appear throughout the day.
Shortly after the bites started appearing, I spent a week visiting my boyfriend in another city.
Thanks, I will google insect bites. I do not know what an earwig looks like. I did have three pest control companies come out and assess, found nothing. I do know they are entering from outside because I saw small black bugs in my washing machine. I bought a new washing machine and have not seen any in there yet. I always have a bad reaction to insect bites or stings with really bad swelling. Normally necessitates application of loads of antihistamine cream, taking maximum dose Piriton tablets for days, then a course of strong antibiotics. If I'm in a situation where I know there is the risk of being bitten, is there any advantage in taking Piriton tablets in advance - along with using insect repellent?
My husband has big bites on his inner thigh, penis, and just under his scrotum. They are itchy and painful. Not mosquito bite. Could it be spider bites. Read up on bed bugs and I don't think that is the answer either. Do you have any suggestions? Could it be baby spider bites???

Thanx for the comments. I'm confident it's insect bites. As I am outdoors on a daily basis in many different environments. And I thought herpes was painful??
Are you sure it's not a rash, rather than insect bites? If in fact it's insect bites, are these bites around the hair follicles? If so, they are most likely chiggers. "Google" the subject to see photos, more info for self-diagnosis, and at-home treatments. I'm a big believer in mild antiseptics, benadryl itch spray, and calimine lotion to treat both rashes and bites. I hope you find relief soon!
I have some type of insect bite (I believe spider) on my stomach that has only gotten larger and itchier in the past few days. I've had all types of insect bites and stings before but never had this reaction.
At first, the bite was slightly elevated and red. It was about the size of a quarter. Over the past few days, it's spread out significantly and is still elevated. It's about the size of 3 quarters. It's also dry and bumpy and has gotten more red.
When I woke up the other day, I sound some small bumpy insect bits on my thigh, adn thought nothing of it.
I slept naked the next day and when I woke up, my vagina was unbelievably itchy. I'm covered in what I believe to be these insect bites, my vulva is lumpy from them, slightly swollen and sore. The ones on my arm and thigh went down over a day, but these on my vagina are here for the third day ina row and they're driving me insane.
I have several (3 or 4) weird insect bites of some sort. They seemed, at first like normal bites (mosquito or something like it), they welted up and itched, but now (24-48 hours later) they have bruising around them (not surrounding, in any uniform pattern or anything, just off to the side a little), and the whole area (welt and bruise) is sore.
Hi Christopher, thanks. But does insect bites impact remain for so long since its now more than 2.5 months. Also new red spots keep on appearing while the older ones are blackening and drying. The swelling is also better in the morning but again increases in the evening...
Also my skin, on my legs especially, gets scarred very easily from insect bites, it takes months and months to disappear,hopefully if it does that.My mother has the same but its much worse and on much more of her leg. These dark marks are only present on my leg however, nowhere else. Is there anthing you can recommend ? Any help would be much appreciated.

My 20 month old has bumps comin up her face arms and legs that itch her like crazy and seems like every day she has new ones.. Her pediatrician says it's insect bites but she wakes up with new ones and she comes home from daycare with new ones, she gets em all during the day and nite and it's leaving scars on her and she has trouble sleeping from itching at night. I have what appears to be 3 mosquito bites on the tip of my penis and they are red and irritated after taking a shower. I also seem to have on on the shaft of my penis as well and they are itching like crazy. I live in the house with my girlfriend who never seems to get bit by mosquitos but me on the other hand always seems to miraculousley wake up with bites on my body. I have seen a dermatologist a year ago with insect bites that has not completely healed but has turned into a hyperpigmented scar. It is still itchy and has now become numerous on my extremities, given my exposure to a place with mosquitoes and gnats..I have tried very high potency topical corticosteroid such as halobetasol, betamethasone and clobetasol with some help but after 2 weeks of treatment, comes back itching and non healing.
It might be some insects biting you in your sleep, e.g. spiders, bed bugs, etc.
What concerns me is when you said, "I have had the bites for about a month now." This makes me wonder whether if it's insect bites. I would definitely consult a doctor.

I have a question about what I believe was the result of some sort of bite some days ago.
I was travelling across the states from the West coast, and stopped in Minnesota by the side of the road for an hour nap. When I woke up, my right hand was numb from the pinkie through to the middle finger.
A good treatment for insect bites is a paste made from monosodium glutamate and water(sold in stores as the condiment "Accent"). Place it on as a poultice. and cover with a band-aid. It there is itching hours later topical cortisone cream should be rubbed on. If there arrears to be an infection a bactricidal cream should be used. Clotramazole is contraindicated.
