I have the same problem too. I'm able to attain a good erection but I sometimes lose it just before penetration. I know this is 'just psychological' but it's frustrating as hell. Anxiety can ruin your sex life.
I agree with ttt100: PDE-5 inhibitors (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra) may be helpful but they're not anxiety drugs.
I hate to say it but chances are he never got rid of the other woman and is using the Levitra with her (or with someone else). I still say no one wastes their pills (and their money on the pills) in order to masturbate. He's not embarrassed to tell his wife of 27 years that he's taking a pill. I have not noticed any improvement as of yet, though my urologist mentioned that it could take 3 weeks before I saw any benefit and would probably want to continue the use of Levitra until that time. Is this true, normal or am I not going to see a benefit from this medication?
I would have thought the doctor would have then dug deeper to find the physical cause to then treat that but instead just gave him a sample of Levitra to use if he wanted to have sex. The Levitra did help, but not all that much...the erection was soft and still failed shortly after attaining and there was of course no climax or ejaculation for him. He also had quite a headache the next day and at $14 a dose doesn't seem to be a good solution.
I am considering switching from Levitra to Cialis. Have read that Cialis has a longer half life (up to 36 hrs vs. 5-7 hrs.). Anyway, I have tried extending Levitra's half-life by taking a second dosage a few hours later, but no matter what, the max effects still really fade off 5-7 hours after the initial dosage. Wondering if anyone knows why this might be... and why a second dose would not extend the effects? Just helps with planning.
