I had been using clomid, but my lining is very thin so my RE switched me. It worked great for me. On clomid I had 2 follies. On letrozole I had 6! I didn't get a BFP but it was bc my progesterone was too low. I liked it much better than clomid-no side effects at all. Good luck to you!

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

We are glad you are on to maintenance therapy for your previous cancer! Typically, letrozole does have a favorable side effect profile in relation to toxicity. This doesn't mean it is side effect free, however. The trade off is that it does appear affective in terms of prolonging recurrence.

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

I have been on letrozole for 5 months now and nothing.I had a miscarriage in march and have been taking this since march.The only side effects I have had are hot flashes in the beginning but I do get stabbing headaches occasionally.Has anyone else had to go from letrozole to something else that helped get them pregnant.

I don't understand your question .... if you mean the difference between Femara and Letrozole .... if you mean the difference between the two names there isn't any. Letrozole is the Generic Name for Femara. Regards ....

i did use Letrozole for 6 cycles...but no BFP...there were no side effects either....just got cramps during those entire cycles...i know 2 of my patients who used d same...one of them who had PCOD concieved with timed intercourse n letroz...d other who had endo like me didn't...however she got preggo by ICSI...Letroz is now banned in several countries but here in India its widely used....

t occur anymore. If I do abstained from ejaculation for over 14 days then it slightly improves for me a little.... But that's with the support of heavy weight training. Most of the time my testicles hurt a little and itch and not in a a more painful way. Obviously I'm not a professional or anything But I really want to get this fixed. Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

Letrozole is effective in increasing final adult height. Many medical studies have shown that. Most doctors don't know it yet. The recommended dose of 2.5 mg is actually not necessary. 0.3 mg will provide similar effects.

I have done Letrozole twice now, one with an IUI that ended up with a BFN this morning. I'm super bummed about it...trying to be as positive as possible. Hi! Yes, letrozole is the same as femara, and it does work alone. I used it alone for three cycles, and I had two mature follicles each time. As for moving straight to IVF after femara, I'm not sure why he wouldn't suggest injectable/IUI first...but you could always bring that back up if you don't get pregnant over the next three/four cycles. My doctor put me on Clomid 100 mg (day 3-7) for three months. Besides the side effects for me were pretty bad (mood swings, crying for no reason, vision disturbances, ovary pain, back pain) I didn't ovulate until day 21. I used OPK's but no luck in detecting my LH surge. So I phoned the fertility clinic and they did E2 and LH. The same day they called me back and my E2 was very high so I had an ultrasound.

But i have stopped bleeding on 22/08/16(is it normal?).On top of that my doctor has advised me to take letrozole from 2 to 6 days during my period.My question is that,should i continue taking letrozole even if i do not bleed?

Do your mean lifting weights as in weight lifting the sport, or lifting weights as in bodybuilding, I cant think of a reason that bodybuilding should stunt your growth, but that you may just a small build, in that case you may find it hard to build your weight up, and weight lifting could stop you growing by the amount of weights that you lift over your head.
