However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed.
She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
I'm curious if anyone has tried natural healing for post tx. If so, what did you try? What worked or didn't work for you?
I'm on an anti inflammatory diet, I'm reducing/eliminating toxins from my foods and home. I'm using supplements. I've had to decrease while on tx. Per my Pharmacist I can start using essential oils and supplements to cleanse my liver in 4 more days. I would love to hear what others have tried.
Had all natural and honestly only thing I had done different is ate food a lot after... but it was beautiful I didn't even know I was in labour we got to the hospital they checked me then said heads right there there was 5 painful contractions then pushing began I have them quick and fast so 2 hours from the first time feeling a contraction to holding him in my arms...
As someone who is still recovering from acid reflux laryngitis, I will say that it took MONTHS for my voice to return. My laryngitis started in October 2009 and continued into April 2010 with slight improvements starting in late February. When I was first diagnosed as acid reflux causing my laryngitis, I was told it would take at least three months to get my voice back.

I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. Mami has good advice. Some wounds hurt more than others and those inflicted by a relationship gone bad are some of the worst. It always helped me to keep busy in the begining. Distraction is a great way of keeping the bad and sad thoughts away. Also, keeping your own self esteem high is good. Make a list of what you love about yourself. And then read it periodically. Work out-------- not just because it makes you look better and stay healthy but because it has a great effect on the mind.
Will this be Herpes Laryngittis/ pharyngitis? will viral Laryngitis/Pharyngitis get relief from antibiotics as I was feeling well in a day after I took them. It could be due to varied causes like upper respiratory tract infection like laryngitis or pharyingitis, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, reflux laryngitis in people who have acidity and GERD, muscle abnormality, voice box abnormality, polyps, tumors or weakness of voice box etc.

Well, now I had a GERD attack at night that caused a lot of chest gas, and burping, and I have some laryngitis. Left it untreated for months, because I had palpitations and thought my heart was causing chest gas. I misled myself.

My episode is over, but I can't get the inflammed area to heal. It is in a bad spot that keeps getting aggravated. It is toward the bottom of the inner labia where the butt cheek just begins. More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise. Cough suppressants for laryngitis, treat GERD, stop smoking, vocal rest etc will make a difference.
