I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.

Problem is the doctors deny the side effects are associated with the medication. I'v tried it. They act like its all in my head. However, having been on PPI for years now I can assure you that I have ALL the side affe cts that you mention here. If I knew what else to take I woulod but with a hernia, and a govt that will only give operation's as a last resort I am stuck with it.

I was put on Esomeprazole 20 but i had very bad side effects especially dizziness and body weakness... I went back to the doctor who changed the medication to Lansoprazole 30mg but still i feel like there is no improvement on the dizziness and body weakness. I am also having heart palpitations which i think are from anxiety. Other side effects i am having include tingling sensation in arms and legs, chest tightness, headaches, sore throat and cough with sputum...

So she went to the doctors and prescribed Lansoprazole. About a week and a half after the Lansoprazole was prescribed she started to shake. And for about a half a week now its been getting worse and worse. Now she is also having trouble seeing, and is experiencing ear ache's and headaches. While she is still shaking. What could be the issue?

There seems to be no side effects, the problems of bloating,discomfort (painfull at times) that comes and goes througout the day,has not eased at all. If these combanation of tablets were going to work,would my symptons have eased by now ?. The doctors advice is take the full course,and go back to see her in 7 days after finishing course, if symptons persist. I have been suffering with this off and on for 6 months. And was started to think i should go for a second opinion.

Have taken Lansoprazole for years and after a heart condition kept on it but started to get atypical chest pain, which was not put down to the cardiac medication. Eventually the g.p. suggested trying (Nexium) - Esomeprazole 20mg instead, with the instruction that if there was a temporary flare up, - double the dose.

I took/take Prevacid for 6 weeks and also have terrible side effects from it. Anxiety gone through the roof, muscle twitching in my throat, depression beyond believe. I was supposed to take 30 mg a day but because I had a really bad swallowing problem (turned out those were actually anxiety crampings of my throat) I took a few times 60 mg a day (morning and evening a 30 mg).

I understand that this is quite a high dose normally given under clinical supervision when someone is admitted to hospital with uncontrolled asthma. There is an enormous list of side-effects and I am not willing to add these to the problems I already have when I have no firm diagnosis of the problem. I am now awaiting further blood tests and a spirometry test. I have started to wonder whether what I am experiencing now are side-effects of the lansoprazole????

It maybe possible. If you feel bloated 24/7 then air and gas could be expelling to your lungs making it hard to breath.

It may be u r in a flare and that is y u do not know individual triggers, but u should avoid certain foods, greasy, acidic, spicy, and carbonated bevs....and caffeine.....so coffee and some teas. I had it so bad one time I got the reflux from water, but that is bcuz everything was so upset, and u have to stick to the modification of ur diet and lifestyle to help calm it down....

My mom was diagnosed with lymphoma of her stomach. The lining of her stomach is surrounded by malignant tumors. Her doctors are trying different rounds of meds. One is called Prev Pak. She has to take this for 2 weeks and then she is going back to the doctor to see if there is a change int he tumors. If not, then she will have to do chemo. My question is... how is this medicine suppose to work. I have researched Prev Pak and have'nt found much info.

i just heard that powerful drugs could delay seroconversion,,and based from my experience this drug has some nasty side effects. i just though this would be one of those "powerful drugs"that could prolong my window period. i just needed reassurance from people around here. so my 85 days would be conclusive right?

Hello I'm going to be having 3 stents inserted into my arteries in a couple of weeks time. My specialist (who will be carrying out the procedure) has asked me to take 600mg of clopigdogrel and 600mg of asprin the night before the procedure, and I'm a bit worried about doing this. Is it normal practice? I currently take 75mg of clopidogrel every day.

I did find, like CalGal, a link between Omeprazole and a cough, and it was also causing itchy skin down my spine area. Changing my PPI to Lansoprazole recently has not made the slightest difference, and I continue to cough all day and all night, a dry, irritating cough. I was told a couple of years ago that i was getting the side effects of some stomach medication i was on (lansoprazole) and have since come off them. I am now having another episode of the symptoms above. I was searching the internet and found hypokalemia which seem to have similar symptoms. I have consulted may doctors and currently take lansoprazole (Prevacid). The vomiting and nausea continues no matter what I eat, how much, or how little. I honestly have no idea what to do anymore. I'm considering an endoscopy but do not really want to go through that if it is not necessary - which I do not believe it is. Any idea what this may be? Blood results show that everything is normal.

Hi...both meds are PPI's and work the same...getting off either needs to be done with the help of ur Dr, u need to step off slowly ot avoid the rebound effect of this med. PPI's stop production of the acids, when u stop taking the meds, it flips the on switch and many times our system makes too much all at once and we feel the same as we did b4....this is y it is very important to slowly step off these meds and know u may have some GERD until ur body adjusts.

I am on 30 mg. Lansoprazole daily. My last menstrual pd. was in mid-Dec. 2012. I just got done having severe left side pain with alot of gas and bloating. The back pain gets so bad that I had to quit a job that required hours of standing. BUT, now the back pain is there when I sit , also. Any ideas what I should do?? Thanks!

I currently take Gabapentin, Lansoprazole, Laxido Sachets, Magnesium, Lidocaine Cream and recently added is Morphine (MST) and Salbutamol Inhaler. I am at the maximum dose of Gabapentin for the nerve pain and I am currently waiting for a specialist appointment with a neurologist. Since taking Morphine my asthma has flaired which has resulted in me taking alot of my reliever inhaler which has worsened my sleep, anxiety and caused muscle tension/cramps.

I started noticeing side effects at about 8pm, and they continued till this morning. I experienced a low grade headache, aches in my upper legs and lower back, some difficulty sleeping, and an awkward kind of dizziness (which I notice now seems to immediately follow my Riba dose). I am 55 yrs old female and went for a physical and was told i had high blood presure, that day it was 144/92. I had a blood test and it showed high cholesteral 257. Doctor put me on 10 MG Lisinopril.
