What would happen if you rubbed pure nitroglycerin on your skin?
I'd like to know the symptoms on and below the skin. I know that nitroglycerin is used for anginas, but I also know that it's generally mixed with something else, so I'm curious about how well pure nitroglycerin would work and what it would do.
And if you had a vial of pure nitroglycerin, what could you mix it with to be able to use it as ointment?

Alright, well about a month ago I smoked some marijuana which I believe to be laced with cocaine. I smoked the marijuana in a manner that I normally don't smoke, which was very fast - waiting just a few seconds between hits. I believe that it was laced with something because the odor smelled different (pretty bad) after it was smoked. I have had chest pain since that day.

I have been in and out of the hospital and doctors offices for the past month.
The first week I had bronchitis. After that cleared, I began having chest pain and shortness of breath.
Everyone dismissed my symptoms because I was a young female. I had a hysterectomy in 2009 but they said I still had estrigen to help prevent heart problems.
After three weeks of testing (lung vq scan, GERD, and anxiety), a heart cath was done.

00 AM. I was originally prescribed it to help me with sleep during a taper off of Ativan, but it is causing me more harm than good at this point and I'm interested in at least reducing my amount before resuming an Ativan taper. I am currently taking .8 mg of Ativan, spread out in four doses across the day.
I still had stable angina every time I did some for of cardio activity or is I ate something with sodium. I started using Nitroglycerin patches and even have the pills just in case my angina episode occurs.
I had a date and I read online that you can't take viagra and any nitrates cause it can drop your blood pressure really low. So I stopped using my nitroglycerin for about 48 hours so I can take the Viagra.

While chest pain that gets better with nitroglycerin can be suggestive of agina, there are several other types of chest pain, such esophageal spasm, that can get better after nitroglycerin. Exercise tests and stress echocardiograms are screening test for coronary artery disease. If these screening tests are abnormal, the next step is most likely a cardiac catheterization and angiogram in order to look definitively at your coronary arteries.
The patch should only be worn for up to 12 to 14 hours a day, or as directed by your doctor, but continued use with no interruptions can cause a tolerance for drug....It is important to have a "nitrate-free" period of time each day for Nitroglycerin Patch to continue to work well and to decrease the risk of physical dependence.
Maybe the anxiety of missing a dose caused anxiety causing an increase in BP.
Can you be 100% certain that the weed was not laced with something? That is very inconsistent with marijuana and it must have been vey frightening then and now. I would be worried too. Perhaps you could call a doctor and see what their take on this is.

Female age 50 ... I was being treated for pneumonia with 10 days of levaquin and lodrain 24 D. On the fifth day I started having moderate and continual pain between my sholder blades in the upper back and heartburn (no heartburn for 25 years previously) and extreme fatigue. I thought it was the pneumonia and didn't go to the doctor for five days. My blood test then showed troponin was high, doctor said I may have had a heart attack. Doctor wanted a stress test ... which showed normal.
Ironically, the first time I got the high, I had smoked marijuana that was laced with something. I was messed up for two weeks. I remember praying to just be normal again. It was like I was dazed all the time. It did go away, but I can't smoke it even if I want to now because of the panic attacks that go with it. I don't know if yours was laced, I don't know what it would have been laced with, but I can tell you I had to go for 2 weeks before I got back to normal.

The only sympton he has had with the placing of the stents was Chest Pressure, no other symptoms. The same with his recent heart catherization was chest pressure. In the ER he was given 2 nitroglycerin, 5 minutes apart, the chest pressure went away after the 2nd nitroglycerin.
Does any good specialist in cardiology think that my husband should have the open heart surgery for bypasses considering the risks regarding his age, his diabetes?
I've never heard of nitroglycerin being used to treat migraine, but glad that it worked.
But if it keeps on, and sorry to tell you this, but you probably should see a doctor ASAP. It could be the sign of a coming stroke, since it is sudden and very painful. I started with a sudden very different migraine than any I had ever had before. It turned out that within 3 weeks, longer than usual as a gap in time, I had a full carotid artery dissection stroke.
i have been diagnosed with spastic angina. i have blood pressure 116 over 72 angiogram shows no problem with cholesterol 2.5 on test. i have been given norvasc and lipitol ?
