Well, I've searched a lot and all I've found is that L-arginine can make herpes (HSV) replicate and get worse. But I haven't found a study saying that it could be the same with HPV.
I bought a protein supplement of egg protein and I've read that it has lysine and lutein which seems to have a good effect in the clearance of HPV, but it also has L-Arginine and there are mixed opinions about it... Anyone has tried it with success?

All the searches I have done related to this inform me of a diet high in L-Lysine and low in L-Arginine to help treat herpes, which I do not have. I am currently undergoing cryotherapy for my breakouts because the Aldera cream irritates me too much. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible (quit smoking, drinking and eating healthier).
Supplement your diet with high quanties of L-Lysine and reduce your intake of L-Arginine. Foods high in L-Arginine include nuts, grains, beer, chocolate, peas, coffee, and so forth. Reduce sugar intake and avoid caffeine like the plague. Also, try to remain out of the sun. All of these "triggers" can make herpes worse. There are other supplements you can consider like Red Marine Algea and Olive Leaf Extract.
no need to worry about arginine - the lysine/arginine connection never panned out outside of the lab. They are even using arginine in studies to treat herpes! lysine supplementation also isn't of any use for herpes either. most of us already get more than enough of it in our day to day diets anyways.

you can try steeping a tea bag, letting it cool and then using it as a compress on the area - helps reduce redness and itching.
From all the research I did, this is HSV I.. now I am paranoid and think everything is going to explode on my face. I am using L-Lysine, Acyclovir and Abreva to prevent an outbreak (heard they hurt like hell and are just nasty like that guy's-which I thought was the result of a bloody lip).
My questions are, I don't have an outbreak that is visible, no redness, and I am on day 6 of the occasional burning and tingling.
I have a sore on my tongue that's been there awhile. The ear nose & throat doctor said it is irritation & hard to heal. I'm taking Lysine tablets 500 mg 3xs daily. Just started .I have seen L-Lysine ointment by basic organics. People use it for core sores & ulcers on the inside of lip. Would it be safe to dab a small amount on my tongue to help battle this condition faster. It is painful & very frustrating.
I understand what you are saying about when you stop the medication but I still think that other things can keep it under control being that I have had the virus for such a long time. I never tried the Lysine I think I should give a shot have you ever tried the L lysine for genital herrpes outbreaks.
Do not take Arginine unless under supervision of your medical doctor. Do not take Arginine if you have Genital Herpes or if you are using lysine supplements.
-Zink. Low sperm count can be boosted with Zinc . Take it 30 mg a day for 4 months.
-Astragalus. This herb can improve sperm motility. You should follow recommendations on the label.
