Common Questions and Answers about L arginine and magnesium

l-arginine

1703392 tn?1307450500 I found an interesting article regarding taking taurine and l-arginine (amino acid) supplements for eliminating PVCs. If you google "taurine for pvcs" there are some interesting stories. http://george-eby-research.com/html/taurine-l-arginine-arrhythmias.pdf Anyone out there suffering from benign pvcs/pacs try this?
Avatar m tn Somewhere I founded this link, and consulted my doctors who told me that it can't hurt if you try.
Avatar n tn , however the year is 2014, and knowledge regarding L-Arginine (a vasodilator, that increases the interior diameter of the blood vessels, increasing body capacitance) and the safety thereof has been common knowledge for the last fifty years. That being said I think it would always be a good idea to ask your doctor about everything in your life.

Avatar m tn They have increased the Ranexa 500 mg to 2 x a day and I am still having angina attacks mainly left shoulder pain. I have read several articles about L-arginine being used to increase nitric oxide and that seemed to help control spasms. I am currently on Norvasc 5mg 1xdaily, Lisinopril 5mg 1x daily, metoprolol 100 mg 2 x daily Ranexa 500 mg 2x daily, magnesium 500 mg 2 x daily, garlic 1000 mg daily, evening primrose oil 1000 mg daily, simvastatin. I also have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine.
Avatar m tn Is there any correlation between biliary dyskinesia and L-arginine? I heard L-arginine affects the sphincter of the oddi, which is the cause to my biliary dyskinesia if I'm not mistaken. Does the L-arginine help or hurt? Or is it neutral?
Avatar m tn Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine?
Avatar f tn I truly believe it is the deficiencies causing a lot of our problems. That being said, I remember trying taurine and L-arginine years ago with no success. Possibly I didn't take it enough. I think I will check out which foods have this. Maybe I'm eating a bunch right now cuz my heart has been behaving again.

Avatar m tn So I am 3 and half days into Taurine and L-Arginine, so far no effect.
Avatar m tn I take a multi vitamin as well as L-Arginine, Zinc and Saw Palmetto. I was wondering if anyone has any concrete evidence that the L-Arginine especially has any negative effects on my condition (causes/exacerbates) breakouts etc. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible. I like taking the L-arginine for the muscle building properties but I am willing to stop taking it if it makes my HPV worse.
Avatar f tn But since I think you probably want to remain anonymous or are posting for someone else, if it started after you began your other meds you need to pin down which one triggered it and switch to an alternative for it. If it was there before, you can try saw palmetto, l-canatine, or l-arginine. Also check your Vitamin D and Magnesium levels. You'll have to experiment with how much of any of them to take but most are beleived to have no interactions.
Avatar m tn & one thing that i understand from the report is: the sequential therapy facilitate the T-cell function to word the Hbsag clearance fast. Does this mean adding L-Arginine to our Nuc's helps more to facilitate to the Hbsag clearance? Thanks!
Avatar f tn However, another doctor told me I should not take it because I have an autoimmune disease (Sjogren) and L-Arginine would aggravate my condition. I am not sure whom should I follow. Have anyone aware of any research related to L-Arginine and auto immune problem? Many thanks!
Avatar f tn I have a question from the opposite angle.. I had been told l- arginine would be of help releasing nitric oxide in the blood to help with male erection/orgasm ..however, that arginine shouldn't be taken by those with hsv1/2 because it can provoke an outbreak. Can you debunk this ? I would love to take arginine if it can help at all !
Avatar n tn L-Arginine and L-Citrulline are quite effective in restoring sexual ability in a certain universe of patients, specifically those with diabetic neuropathy. You need to take at least 2-3 grams of L-Arginine for an effect. Purchase it in quantitities at health food stores.
Avatar m tn All the searches I have done related to this inform me of a diet high in L-Lysine and low in L-Arginine to help treat herpes, which I do not have. I am currently undergoing cryotherapy for my breakouts because the Aldera cream irritates me too much. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible (quit smoking, drinking and eating healthier).
Avatar n tn I have been taking L-arginine, L-citrulline, along with Alpha Lipoic acid and fish oil to prevent heart disease. My doctor told me to take aspirin. I exercise 4 times per week and have lost 10 lbs. Recently I have been having frequent nosebleeds. I cut back on the dosage of aspirin but still have nose bleeds although not as often. I don't know if the combination of supplements is the cause of the nosebleeds.
Avatar m tn Haha, no that's not much potassium. A banana has a lot more than that. :-) My doc put me on propranolol "as needed" at first, and I rarely took it. I'm on 25mg Metroprolol ER now and it definitely reduced my resting heartrate to something in the low 50's. It did not stop my PVCs but rather just made them less forceful so I felt them less. Low dosage beta blockers (I'm guessing your propranolol is low dosage as well) are pretty safe.
Avatar f tn Well, to start with, I (and a lot of others) know exactly how you feel! The somewhat good news is that you probably aren't going to die from the PVCs if you've been checked out and ruled "benign". I just completed a 9 month or so streak where I was getting 10k+ per day. I'm on Metoprolol 25mg which perhaps is similar to your dosage of Atenolol. I have the same side effects as you experience with the dizziness (esp. when standing) etc.
Avatar f tn For me, it seems that extra Taurine and L-Arginine is doing the trick (1.5 months practically PVC free after thousands a day for 9 months). @tronius reports that gasx seems to have done the trick there. It seems to take some experimentation. With regards to the beta blocker, I take 25mg of Metroprolol ER. You need a prescription for that and it probably won't stop the PVCs. What it did do for me is make the follow-on beat after the PVC less forceful and less annoying.
Avatar m tn citrulline is said to be better to rise blood levels of arginine but for now i m trying l arginine only and waiting to see if it has any effect on hbsag or alt levels
