Avatar m tn i guess im just wondering if anyone knows of any epileptic meds that doesnt have acne as a side effect or anything to help me out this my situation besides for the social life stuff cuz i know its not the end of the world but the acne makes it a lot more diffecult with stuff like that.
564491 tn?1320360393 I was prescribed Keppra for my chronic headaches. I also suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and depression, secondarily. While taking Keppra, my mood was very erratic, irritable, depressed (very), and a lot of other unpleasant psychological side effects. I'm wondering how often this happens with Keppra. I have since stopped taking it. Thank you.
7486852 tn?1410352184 Seizures, RLS, Depression and Anxiety. Keep fighting for social security even if it is a pain in the butt. I had a tumor from my right temporal lobe which caused all of my problems. I am sorry but I can not give you any insight into keppra or depakote, both of them did not work for me. I believe that I maxed out on keppra. Dilantin worked for about 8 or 9 years before it started to not control mine anymore. I am afraid the only way to see if depakote or any other drug is is just give it a shot.
Avatar n tn He has been on Keppra again exclusively for the past 8 months. His behavior is hard to describe. Before Keppra he was a happy, fun-loving, calm kid. Now he can only be described as disrespectful, disobedient, argumentative, rude and sometimes enraged. Hence ‘Keppra rage.’ He finally being weaned off Keppra and onto Vimpat. We pray that this is the answer. What happened to our silly, fun-loving, laid-back boy? Any idea that this is “just teenage hormones” is completely misguided.
Avatar f tn like i had i said before he had a seizure a couple months ago and was put on keppra, dilantin, oxycodone, naproxion, and alprazolam. he has severe social anxiety and got hit by a car 2 years ago, fractured ribs broken bones, pulled muscles in back, neck and head. he always complains about him having a headache and makes me put pressure on him neck when he thinks he about to go into a seizure.
Avatar m tn I have no health insurance. I was finally got a really basic coverage, but it doesn't cover keppra. i've been taking keppra for a 2 months. I was switched to phenobarbitol for when I run out. since keppra is not on the charity's formulary. I hope to God that I cant find some source of keppra before I run out. The phenobarb is scary. So I'm excited about the links here: http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/index.php http://www.needymeds.
398501 tn?1334702273 Since Keppra he has been seizure free(16 Months now) In relation to his side effects tiredness seems to be the main one, he also gets mild anxiety which only started since he started taking Keppra. Compared to other medications the side effects are not bad. The most common side effects generally are: Sleepiness. Dizziness and unsteadiness. Weakness. Mild agitation, anxiety, or depression. But none of these are severe..
Avatar n tn Hi all. I am really scared. I have been on Keppra for a little over a year. Initially I didn't notice any issues, because I already have some anxiety (undiagnosed), so what noticed I just brushed off as anxiety. But over the last nine months or so I have seen a change. I get angry more easily, and over really really stupid stuff. Once I flew into a temper tantrum because my roommate threw out something I had in the fridge. A year ago I would have moved on without a thought.
Avatar f tn I am, and have been on Keppra for almost 5 years. Started at age 23 and I am now 28. At the beginning they made me very sluggish, but after about 2 months I felt wonderful (since it was the first time in my life I wasn't having seizures!!) I have noticed the following: quick to get angry, short tempered, excessive crying, like to focus on negative conversations rather than the positive, I complain a lot, and I take it out on the ones I love most.
Avatar m tn Also, I wanted to know if anyone has tried Keppra for seizure activity in dogs and if so, how did that work? Our 6 year old French Mastiff had a seizure on Thursday night - first one ever. He walked across our bedroom floor, stood in front of our open door and acted like he saw someone in the hallway. I sat up and said "Archie, there is no-one there. Go back to bed." Then he looked like he was rubbing his shoulder on the clothes hamper and I thought it looked really weird.
Avatar f tn no not on wellbutrin any longer, i started it long before I started Keppra. I've been on keppra for almost 2 months now. You would have to speak to your doc regarding any other AEDs that would work without effecting your daughters mood. so far havent recieved any benefit from lamictal as far as mood stabilizer goes but its only been 2 wks and I'm slowly increasing my dose. Lots of luck.
Avatar n tn Continued with Keppra and Di Tan Tang 2X/day each for another 8 days. Then took her Keppra down to 1/day for 2 weeks. Then she went one day with no Keppra and the next day she had a seizure. This seizure was longer, but her disorientation was shorter. Vet then said to go back to giving her Keppra for 30 days and we will re-evaluate. So for the next 30 days she was taking Keppra 1/day and Di Tan Tang 2/day.
Avatar f tn found no cause for the seizures. He has been put on Keppra and the Generic brand ever since. Me and my husband will both admit that he does not get the medicine like he should. My husband just says that because of him not getting the med like he should that the reason he is acting the way he is. He will barely eat. When he does, he puts it in his nouth but then spits it back out after feeling how it feels and tastes. He gets a very bad temper. Constantly wants his cup. He won't drink water.
559697 tn?1243286385 hello, im a 20 year old female and i was diagnosed with epilepsy back im '08(thought'd id put it out there for technical reasons), and im currently taking keppra xr. if its one thing i noticed about this drug (not a doc, could be totally wrong), its that it doesnt stay in the system as long as previous drugs ive been on in the past.
Avatar f tn So I've just recently become open with my social anxiety. I remember being in middle school and thinking that something was horribly wrong with me. I would get so nervouse around people. My body would tremble, my voice would shake and I couldn't think clearly. I've become more comfortable with being uncomfortable, and yes I do notice that there are plenty of people that are shy, but I really hate the fact that my real personality can't show when I'm around people.
Avatar n tn I believe I have social anxiety and am currently seeing a therapist. However, managing my symptoms has become a daily challenge. How do I prevent panic attacks when I'm around others? I still get really anxious around strangers which prevents me from making genuine relationships?
Avatar f tn I have a presentation coming up next week, so I decided to go and seek medical help today. I went to my doctor and he diagnosed me with social anxiety. He said that the best treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy, but he prescribed me some medication to get me through this semester. He prescribed 10 mg propranolol (inderal) 3 times a day and an extra 10 mg inderal 1 hour before the presentation + 0.25 mg Xanax 1 hour before the presentation.
Avatar m tn In fact, I find that most times I have to attend any social function, I count the minutes until I can leave the party. I can usually fake it for about 2 hours. But then, it's like I hit a wall and the desire and need to leave increase greatly with each minute. In fact, the minutes start to feel like hours. Inside I feel myself getting angry, edgy, and moody. At the same time, my wife has usually had a couple of drinks by then and is wound up and having a good time.
494087 tn?1257793207 I was diagnosed with social anxiety and panic disorder a year ago. I take remeron and klonopin but the doctor says only to take them at night. I think I need some medication to get through the day but I am afraid to tell him I am having trouble getting through the day. I always have a butterfly feeling in my stomach and when I have to go in public I get very nervous and feel like everyone is looking at me. I guess my question is does anyone else feel this way and what should I do?
Avatar m tn Hi, I suffer from severe social anxiety and public speaking, my doctor in Manila prescribed me Abilify and Sertraline. Did anyone use these medicine for social/public anxiety and does it help?
Avatar m tn I know, when you feel the anxiety, it leads to more anxiety because you are anxious they will notice your anxiety... Higher heart rate, blood pressure, chest pains, wish to immediately leave the place... And to me, it seems better to leave home at night or when it is colder or rainy, because there are less people out there, on the street... You are not alone!
Avatar f tn Anyone else get social anxiety in big groups? I have always been an anxious person in general but i have always Been able to manage it and show up to group events. I have noticed now though the farther along i get the more anxious i get and the more i get the overwhelming urge to bolt from events. Its getting bad too. Any one else or any ideas?
722310 tn?1234762137 He has been struggling with MAJOR social anxiety for about 6 years. I figured he would eventually out grow it, but it has only gotten worse over the years. He has a very hard time walking into a room with other people, besides his family. He looks down, he doesn't have eye contact with others. He almost seems like he is shamed of who he is. He is a kind, gentle and thoughtful young man. He is also extremely bright. He is off the charts on all IQ tests.
Avatar f tn Yes you do have social anxiety. I have had it for years and now it has turned into agoraphobia. I also have panic attacks. I am not saying all this could happen to you but just be aware of these things. Have you seen a therapist? I stay secluded to my home but my therapist is trying to help me with these issues. I take xanax for the panic attacks and anxiety. But they do have different meds. I suggest you go to a mental health facility in your area. They can be quite helpful.
