1 Truvada and 2 Kaletra at 7am while 2 Kaletra at 7pm. Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do.
d say at least 6 hours after your morning dose. You can reduce side effects by taking your dose with food. I tried this and it is 100% true. I couldn't tolerate the drugs without food. According to Drugs.com however (havent read this anywhere else), taking Kaletra with food showed a 20% reduction of blood levels of the medication. Though they can be taken with or without food, I opted to take my morning dose with food, and my evening dose on an empty stomach.
Started PEP at roughly 56 hours, was prescribed Truvada and Kaletra (those orange ones). However in such panic I took the one Truvada and stupidly only one Kaletra (I was meant to take two), the second tablet I took at roughly 68 hours. I then realised my stupidity and the next day (about 80 hours) I began to take the correct dosage (one truvada and two Kaletra twice daily).
Tested negative for all other STD's inc. HIV on roughly 12th Jan.
In the morning of Thursday I took 1 Kaletra. In the evening of Thursday I realized I misread the label and took 2 Kaletra though I forgot to take the Truvada because I was used to taking the other medicine in the morning (I’ve also not been thinking straight and been very stressed, I made a mistake). On Friday morning I came to my senses and took 2 Kaletra and 1 Truvada and set a plan so I wouldn’t mess it up and that’s the regiment I will stick too.

Last weekend (Saturday night - Sunday morning) I stupidly allowed myself to have unprotected aggressive-anal and passive/aggressive-oral sex. About an hour after I found out that the person has sex with people that have HIV. The person tried to assure me that they were clean, had an HIV test last March that came back negative, and that I was the first person they had sex with since November (as if March 2011 to November conveniently doesn't matter).
Is combivir an appropriate HIV nPEP regimen for one time unprotected encounter with CSW of unknown status in Kenya? I'm a 24 yr male from UK. Insertive vaginal and oral. Asked about Kaletra and doc said it's low risk doesn't recommend, but I am still very worried. Started within 12 hours, but still within 72 if kaletra should be added. I feel terrible of course but appreciate any advice.
So 33hours after possible HIV exposure, I ingested my first dose of PEP pills (Truvada and Kaletra). I took the pills consistently for 28 days (one blue truvada pill every 24 hours and two yellow Kaletra pills every 12 hours). The regimen ended August 22nd 2012.
Today is one week later. im going insane. i do not want HIV. I will take a duo test on September 19th 2012 (28 days after PEP and 57 days after possible HIV exposure with woman of unknown status.
Since the chances a quite low Can I stop taking pep or can I stop kaletra and remain with truvada take it upto 28days.coz kaletra gives me diarrhea.
My sister-in-law is just above 10 years old. She takes Viread and Kaletra every day. My mother-in-law takes Videx EC and Ziagen. My mother-in-law is currently in Africa, and I've searched on the pills my sister-in-law is taking, and I found out that it was HIV treatment :'( I couldn't hold my tears, because I love her so much, and she is so young. I want to know what it means. Please tell me.
68 hours late I have started a PEP treatment including Truvada and Kaletra for 28 day. I have complete the treatment sticking rigorously to the time frame for medication intake. During this time I have experienced many side effects. After stopping the medication I have experienced increased and uneven heart rate, joints pain, diarrhea, stomach pain , light head. Each o the has lasted for number of days replaced by another just to be back in a two weeks frame.
I went 30 hrs after my exposure to the hospital and they gave me PEP (1 combivir and 2 kaletra twice per day) coming back to my country after 3 days i forgot the pills that i bought in switzerland and the doctor here suggested i take 1 atripla pill instead every night !!!
do you think this is feasible ( what is your assessment to the situation?!
Again i have started PeP after 28 hours . This time using both Combivir and Kaletra. After the first dose i experienced rather severe diareha and some mild acid taste and abdomen pain.
So i have a lot of questions regarding the oportunity of PeP in both cases. I am a bit worried about the short term side effects and long term side effects. Should i continue PeP with both drugs? Will they damage my liver etc . Looot of questions :)

I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week . I was considering commencing kaletra as well . Is my risk high ? would you recommend anything else?

Hi everyone, am a hiv negative man and I have been on prep 1 dose truvada daily for 1 month and half ..yesterday I had sex with a woman whose taking pep due to condom failure with her positive boyfriend and she's on pep for 5days 1 truvada ones and 2 kaletra twice a daily. .
My question is I had unprotected sex with her on her 5 day on pep and the following day I had unprotected sex with my wife .. what are the chances of me to pass hiv hiv to my wife .?please help.
The morning after the event, I rushed to the nearest hospital in Bangkok and started a course of PEP (Truvada and Kaletra/Aluvia). This was approx. 13-14 hours after the event which i took with 100% adherence for the full 28 days! (Completion on 28/12/12).
I have heard and seen all of the chances of infection after a single exposure of unprotected vaginal intercourse. They look real slim, but cant really be targeted to individual cases. Initially I only have a few questions:

You can test 6 weeks after your last dose of nPEP & then follow up at 3 months for a final test.nPEP is known to make people sick whilst on it.All the best.
She said his viral load had been zero since 2001 and that his tcells were 700. He does not have hep a, b, or C. She started me on truvada and kaletra. I took the first dose of meds approx 2 hours after this accident. I am pretty terrified that I could have contracted HIV. Im wondering what my chances are, and how likely it is that i will be ok from this accident. Im only 27 and have a 4 year old child. I feel like I reuined my life. I cant shake this feeling of dread and up coming bad news.
20 hours from the encounter i started up PEP( kaletra+ truvada), with the usual side effects + blood in the spitting ( a consequence of the deep throat or of the kaletra ? i noticed the blood only 1/2 days after the 1th assumption)
tomorrow morning the male of the couple promised me he's gonna test and show the result.
in case of negativity should i interrupt the treatment ? or i need both of them to be tested ?
3 days later my doctor switched me from Sustiva/Combivir to Kaletra/Combivir. A few days after that I began to develop a mild sore throat and a quarter size rash on my penis. On July 24th I got a Stat-Pak HIV test at a clinic which came back negative. By July 30th, 2008 (maybe a few days earlier) I developed a small quarter size rash on my right foot but this rash was nothing at all like the rash on my penis a few weeks earlier.
By the time I got to the ER, have them do my blood baseline test and took the pills that were given to me at the time (Kaletra and Truvada) it was noon. Needless to say not even an hour later (and back at work) I felt nausea, had gastrointestinal symptoms and had a metallic taste in my mouth with even loss of appetite by that same night.
2 days following my work related incident, I consulted with an infectious disease specialist who was comforting in statistics.
I had risky situation(vaginal sex without condom) I took PEP theraphy (Kaletra and Lazivir) in 63rd hour(doctor said its too late, cause virus needs only 48h ) after exposure and I was very strict in taking pills(twice a day). Unfortunately in third week of therapy I got swollen lymph nods on my neck and groins but I was not sick with nothing. Then I had 2-3 days of little cold(like a week after swollen lymph nods). Now Im extremaly pesimistic and I think I got the virus.
