kaletra

Avatar m tn I took combivir since monday, having feeling nausea and diarrhea, but today the doctor decided to give me also Kaletra four pills a day. Isn't that too much?. I think i won't be able to endure so many drugs.., can you give me some advice about this, please ?
Avatar n tn 68 hours late I have started a PEP treatment including Truvada and Kaletra for 28 day. I have complete the treatment sticking rigorously to the time frame for medication intake. During this time I have experienced many side effects. After stopping the medication I have experienced increased and uneven heart rate, joints pain, diarrhea, stomach pain , light head. Each o the has lasted for number of days replaced by another just to be back in a two weeks frame.
Avatar n tn rash on the foot, shortness of breath, sore throat, sore arm pits, malasie, bad headaches, fatigue, constipation, and diarrhea after 42 days i was taken off the PEPs (kaletra and combivir) and almost immediatly the sore throat was reduced and the headaches have gotten slightly better. however my arm pits are still sore. i tested negative at 7 days and 30 days.
Avatar n tn Two days later, my genitals started itching and burning and I got acne on my back, so I went to the doctor, who prescribed PEP (Truvada and Kaletra). This was 62 hours after the encounter. I was on PEP for 30 days. Eight weeks after completing the PEP regimen, I tested negative for all STD's (HIV/Herpes/Hep/Syph/Gon,etc) on November 18. But a week later, I started getting knee pain and muscle aches all over my body (arms, legs, back).
Avatar n tn Within an hour of taking the pills I had diarrhea and nausea. Today on Day 4 the diarrhea has subsided, however, the nausea has remained but is tolerable. I happened to get hold of this mans phone # and I did call him and tell him that I had started to take the PEP. He assured me that " we passed out and did not do anything". He then told me that he was testsed on 12/24/07 and was Negative. This contradicts, what he said the morning after the incident.
Avatar f tn Is combivir an appropriate HIV nPEP regimen for one time unprotected encounter with CSW of unknown status in Kenya? I'm a 24 yr male from UK. Insertive vaginal and oral. Asked about Kaletra and doc said it's low risk doesn't recommend, but I am still very worried. Started within 12 hours, but still within 72 if kaletra should be added. I feel terrible of course but appreciate any advice.
Avatar f tn 30am and 8:30pm along with Kaletra, is it ok to change this to say 6am and 6pm or will the moving around times effect their effectiveness at least on the day I changed the time of taking them? Also will taking PEP have any long term side effects. It just that with all the sport I do I need to stay muscular, would PEP have any effect on this? I'm currently taking Kaletra and Combivir.
Avatar m tn 1 Truvada and 2 Kaletra at 7am while 2 Kaletra at 7pm. Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do.
Avatar f tn Since the chances a quite low Can I stop taking pep or can I stop kaletra and remain with truvada take it upto 28days.coz kaletra gives me diarrhea.
Avatar m tn My sister-in-law is just above 10 years old. She takes Viread and Kaletra every day. My mother-in-law takes Videx EC and Ziagen. My mother-in-law is currently in Africa, and I've searched on the pills my sister-in-law is taking, and I found out that it was HIV treatment :'( I couldn't hold my tears, because I love her so much, and she is so young. I want to know what it means. Please tell me.
Avatar m tn Started PEP at roughly 56 hours, was prescribed Truvada and Kaletra (those orange ones). However in such panic I took the one Truvada and stupidly only one Kaletra (I was meant to take two), the second tablet I took at roughly 68 hours. I then realised my stupidity and the next day (about 80 hours) I began to take the correct dosage (one truvada and two Kaletra twice daily). Tested negative for all other STD's inc. HIV on roughly 12th Jan.
Avatar m tn I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week . I was considering commencing kaletra as well . Is my risk high ? would you recommend anything else? thanks for advice worried !!
Avatar m tn mitochondrial toxicity were using PEP for an extended period of time or taking a different cocktail as opposed to Truvada and Kaletra. Seems like Truvada and Kaletra is typically safe but has the annoying side affects for a few weeks.
Avatar m tn In the morning of Thursday I took 1 Kaletra. In the evening of Thursday I realized I misread the label and took 2 Kaletra though I forgot to take the Truvada because I was used to taking the other medicine in the morning (I’ve also not been thinking straight and been very stressed, I made a mistake). On Friday morning I came to my senses and took 2 Kaletra and 1 Truvada and set a plan so I wouldn’t mess it up and that’s the regiment I will stick too.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, Last weekend (Saturday night - Sunday morning) I stupidly allowed myself to have unprotected aggressive-anal and passive/aggressive-oral sex. About an hour after I found out that the person has sex with people that have HIV. The person tried to assure me that they were clean, had an HIV test last March that came back negative, and that I was the first person they had sex with since November (as if March 2011 to November conveniently doesn't matter).
Avatar m tn I read on thebody.
Avatar m tn I took a dose of PEP immediately after(combivir+ kaletra). This is my second time on PEP after a workplace exposure. I tested negative after that incident. I have severe diarrhea when on PEP so had to stop for some days to write an exam. In total I have taken 6 whole day doses to date( 8/07/18).
Avatar m tn I am worried about the side effects of the medicaments I am taking Kaletra (4 each day) + Truvada (1 each day). Im having nauseas and diarrhea and had pale stool despite i was completely healthy before this. Do you think I should take just the Truvada? Could the cut or the total stop of treatment lead to resistance if I finally have HIV? 3.
Avatar n tn 20 hours from the encounter i started up PEP( kaletra+ truvada), with the usual side effects + blood in the spitting ( a consequence of the deep throat or of the kaletra ? i noticed the blood only 1/2 days after the 1th assumption) tomorrow morning the male of the couple promised me he's gonna test and show the result. in case of negativity should i interrupt the treatment ? or i need both of them to be tested ?
Avatar n tn 3 days later my doctor switched me from Sustiva/Combivir to Kaletra/Combivir. A few days after that I began to develop a mild sore throat and a quarter size rash on my penis. On July 24th I got a Stat-Pak HIV test at a clinic which came back negative. By July 30th, 2008 (maybe a few days earlier) I developed a small quarter size rash on my right foot but this rash was nothing at all like the rash on my penis a few weeks earlier.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am hoping someone can help calm my fears, although I know my risk is not small. Over the past two days, I engaged in the best sex...several times over, all unprotected...it was amazing and was the most wonderful time, with the most wonderful person who I have known and respected for years. At the end of day two, I found out that he's hiv positive. This was yesterday. Last night I went to see an HIV Specialist, who returned to her office at 8:30 PM to see me and try to help me.
Avatar m tn if I have a PCR RNA viral load test done 1 week after exposure, what can I expect from the reliability of the results? If I get a negative is it actually the cases that I very likely did not contract the virus or might the retrovirals just suppress the viral load to an undetectable level?
Avatar m tn A day after it happened I went to my doctor who gave me a prescription for Truvada/Kaletra. My baseline test was negative for all common STDs and HIV. A week after it happened I went to another STD clinic and had another test done (I wasn't sure if gonorrhea and chlamydia would show up on a test a day after) and those tests were all negative. However, the clinic gave me an antibiotic shot and azithromycin.
