I had gay anal sex with an anonymous person, but the condom broke, so I went to an ER and was prescribed PEP (Truvuda and Isentress). The pharmacist told me that I have to be extremely meticulous about taking the pills on time (Truvuda every 24 hours at around 7:30pm, and Isentress every 12 hours at both 7:30pm and 7:30am.
I set my alarm for 7:30am to take the Isentress.
Is combivir an appropriate HIV nPEP regimen for one time unprotected encounter with CSW of unknown status in Kenya? I'm a 24 yr male from UK. Insertive vaginal and oral. Asked about Kaletra and doc said it's low risk doesn't recommend, but I am still very worried. Started within 12 hours, but still within 72 if kaletra should be added. I feel terrible of course but appreciate any advice.
I had a risk exposure and had a base hiv test 4th gen ab/ag 25 hours after pep or after 2 truvadas and 3 isentress. Could this affect the negative result of the base test? Is the base test considered conclusive? The only risk exposure is no longer since the other party hiv test was negative and the exposure was low risk.

Since the chances a quite low Can I stop taking pep or can I stop kaletra and remain with truvada take it upto 28days.coz kaletra gives me diarrhea.
1 Truvada and 2 Kaletra at 7am while 2 Kaletra at 7pm. Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do.
My sister-in-law is just above 10 years old. She takes Viread and Kaletra every day. My mother-in-law takes Videx EC and Ziagen. My mother-in-law is currently in Africa, and I've searched on the pills my sister-in-law is taking, and I found out that it was HIV treatment :'( I couldn't hold my tears, because I love her so much, and she is so young. I want to know what it means. Please tell me.
I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of.
My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.
Started PEP at roughly 56 hours, was prescribed Truvada and Kaletra (those orange ones). However in such panic I took the one Truvada and stupidly only one Kaletra (I was meant to take two), the second tablet I took at roughly 68 hours. I then realised my stupidity and the next day (about 80 hours) I began to take the correct dosage (one truvada and two Kaletra twice daily).
Tested negative for all other STD's inc. HIV on roughly 12th Jan.
I had an episode of unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex with a Sex worker , originally from ukraine. During the short period of vaginal sex, the had come off once i removed my penis- the length of unprotected exposure was only short( < 3 mins). I am unaware of HIV status of Worker. I rinsed my penis and swabbed with alcohol after. I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week .
Four months ago i had a condom break on me on a girl with her period that had unknown status and dr put me on Combivir with Kaletra, and i stopped after 10 days when the girl showed me her test result. I did a test 1 month ago and i was negative, and now i am in the same spot. I already started on the Combivir every 12 hours and the kaletra every 12 hours i have left...
Please Dr, what are my chances of risk??? I do not want to take PEPs if not necesary..

There are no data on which to base a risk estimate for receptive anal sex of different durations. Logically, a very brief exposure like this would carry less risk than more prolonged exposure with ejaculation in the rectum. If you were in my clinic, I probably would not recommend PEP.
t notice It was cold out and my eye was tearing so I wiped It later I looked at my hand and noticed blood stains on it and then looked at my face that also had blood from wiping my eye I went to the er and they game me truvada and isentress and a week later the raining pills today I was working and got a needle stuck in me from a patient I transport the red bio cases for that has needles in them were I dispose of it.
ve been on Kaletra/Truvada since 36-8 hours after. Also been taking a histamine based sleeping tablet every night.
I've had numb hands and arms occurring at night since day 10, along with night sweats. No fever during the day, no other symptoms.
I know that peripheral neuropathy is rare in both meds and ARS. Since I am never, ever ill normally (and I'm not imagining these palpable symptoms) I'm 95% sure the symptoms are either meds or ARS.
I'm on truvada and isentress I have 14 days left due to the condom breaking I asked the guy to take a or a quick test when it broke I went to CVS and bought it...he tested positive... I was on pep 4 hours afterwards...
I went 30 hrs after my exposure to the hospital and they gave me PEP (1 combivir and 2 kaletra twice per day) coming back to my country after 3 days i forgot the pills that i bought in switzerland and the doctor here suggested i take 1 atripla pill instead every night !!!
do you think this is feasible ( what is your assessment to the situation?!
