I went to bed and was grinding so bad it closed off The Eustachian Tube I had lots of pain and inflamed jaw and face and ear. The pain is always there and all I do after I go to sleep is start grinding and get up the next day and have neck pain and shoulder pain and lots of swelling in the face and can't hear for weeks or months. I have had this happen about four times over the past. I use heat packs and go on soft foods and no talking if I can help it.
For the past 3 weeks, I have had pain when chewing or biting down in my right ear and in that part of my jaw just below the temple. My dentist and orthodontist have said my jaw is disaligned in the past (I look normal though), but I have never had pain. My back molars do not touch when I bite, and my front teeth bite right together with no overbite at all. However, the pain has just now come and seems worse when I sleep on my face funny. Sometimes it is so bad that it is difficult to eat.
Over the course of a few weeks the pain started to subside and my jaw began to relax... Heat packs on my jaw to soothe the pain... He also suggested certain exercises to strengthen my neck and back muscles because they were weak from all the tension... I also did acupuncture... It also helped to calm and relax my muscles... hi i get jaw pain alot at night. i have a nite guard from the dentist but it doesnt always help. i get some bad headaches which is muscle pain as i get bothersome shoulders. and advil and tylenol dont help at all. the smornig i woke up and my left ear feels full. it was really itchy inside but only the outside of the ear hurts not the inside at all. i can feel that my jaw joint has like a knot in it. its the headaches i cant stand.
AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.
Hi there, for me it started when i lose my voice (not competely) but no pain in the throat area. then area around my left jaw joint area (below the ear) starts to feel uncomfortable especially every time i moved my jaw or open my mouth wide to eat something. i dont have toothache etc. then i start to have running nose and nose block. i went to see a GP, he say there is slight infection in the ear and nose. i was on medication for 6 days.
Has anyone with chronic and active lyme experienced this horrible teeth and facial and jaw pain. I know one person described me exactly, even severe ear pain, all seeming to stem from my teeth issues. I'll try to keep posted on what will eventually work. I still have hope. I am a critical care nurse and work in the intergrative field as well now. So far traditional medicine is not the answer for me.

and jaw clicking (w/o pain), the neck pain and the fact that moving my neck increases my ear ringing, was associated to the ear issues.
I went to a TMJ specialist who is a Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is putting me on Occlusal Splints starting Friday after taking several impressions.
My question is: Has anyone with tinnitus due to TMJ actually improved after TMJ treatment?
The feeling of locked jay can be due to dental infection, internal ear problems and tetanus infection. Since you have pain in the ears, either you have an internal ear problem or an exposed root canal of a tooth due to pus or caries. This can cause pain in whole of head and neck region. Glands in neck and temporal bone pain can be due to this. I would suggest you consult a dentist and an ENT specialist soon. Maybe your PVP can arrange it.
I have been diagnosed with TMJ even though I have no clicking or popping or jaw problems, only pain in my ear and around my ear in a typical TMJ pattern. Recently, for about two months I have been getting sharp shooting pains in the back of my head and around my ear. It may happen once or twice a day, lasts for about 3-10 seconds and then goes away. It does not happen every day, I would say in the last month its happened once per week. Today is the worst I've ever experienced.
I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
Pain below ear/in jaw began about 6 months ago. Tongue pain is recent, ear pain and sinus pain/congestion have increased from allergies but were present prior to allergen exposure. Lymph nodes in neck are perpetually swollen but worse in the last couple months (again, possibly allergies?).
Other relevant/potentially relevant info: have reflux for which I am on Prilosec.
The first root canal on #30 tooth was done on May 21 and then about five days later I started getting pain in the tooth area and thoughout my jaw area and into my ear. I went back to my endodonist who said it was not the tooth and then referred me to an oral surgeon/Maxillofacial dentist who said I was having jaw spasms due to the fact that I had two root canals done just a few days apart and my mouth was open for so long.
I consult ENT 3 more times,they are preferred antibiotics,I used antibiotics at the time it is cured few days then again repeated.present I fell pain in left ear inside and outer side of the ear down part and I fell neck pain and left chest pain ,left hand pain also...my age is 29years old.

With slighest wind or loud sound I am getting ear pain and throat pain nowadays. Now I get panicked with jaw pain. How can I distinguish that these chest pains and jaw pains are related to heart or not? Please help me to get rid of this situation. While I was writing the pain is less now. What does this indicate?
