Common Questions and Answers about Janumet or januvia

janumet

Avatar n tn Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.
Avatar n tn If his blood sugar is always high, he might eat differently to still take advantage of that one or two glasses of beer or wine. Or he might slow down on the alcohol. Everyone's body is different, but I've found, what works for me at least, is a balance. If I'm going out socially, and might be inclined to "have a few" I make sure I watch my numbers, watch the food I'm eating, and make sure I walk around a bit (my form of excercise).

Avatar m tn I went on metformin 1g, no change after three months. went up to two grams and was so nauseus for weeks, changed to janumet 1g. My sugars are still up around 15 every day, and my hand still hasnt stopped twitching. I get it all over my body randomly, but always in my hand. It doesn't hurt but is irritating and my hand is sore from overworking. My dr said this was a diabetes issue but I have never heard of it before among other sufferers, and he just brushes it away when I mention it.

Avatar n tn Been on januvia for a week. Blood sugar is not going below 120 ...and as high as 250. Was on glyburide. Had trouble with BS dropping as low as 40. Doc thought I would do better with this drug. I have only one kidney so was prescribed a 50mg dose. Will it regulate after I have been on for awhile?
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response. I have type 2. My last HA1c was 8.1 and I am now using Janumet. I do suppose a dietitian is the right way to go. Thanks again.
Avatar f tn I have been on Metformin, Januvia and Glimeperide for a few years. They are not controlling my diabetes. She wanted me to try Victoza and give up the Januvia. I got over fear of giving myself the shot, but on the 3rd day I began to get sick. On the 4th and 5th days I couldn't even go to work. Changed shot to before bed instead of morning and it made no difference. After a little over a week I stopped it. Lost 5 lbs cause I couldn't eat anything.

541196 tn?1293552936 My endocrinolgist ordered a MRI with Contrast on my brain for the possiblity of a prolactin secreeting pituitary tumor or something similar. I am type II diabetic and take Janumet. I think I remember reading in the side effects, warnings and uses pamphlet that there were some tests, proceedures and surgeries which you shouldn't have while on the medication. How long should I be off the medication before and after the MRI? Are there any other things I should consider before the test?

Avatar n tn I want to know if it will do harm to take both menications can i take januvia for diabetic and phentermine at the same time or will i get a reaction to the medication
Avatar n tn Because my blood sugar is usually in 300-400 or even higher if i dont take it or even just overeat carbs. I would love to have those numbers.. i have to workout like crazy and eat very little to get close to those and thats also with taking another med with the metformin. I would say something is very wrong with what they are trying to do.
Avatar m tn Here's is what I think, and I'm using that term loosely, answers to your question. Diabetes occurs when a person's pancreas produces little or no insulin or when the body rejects the insulin that's produced. Now, there is insulin resistance. If you have insulin resistance, your muscle, fat, and liver cells do not use insulin properly. The pancreas tries to keep up with the demand for insulin by producing more.
