All of the medications, except for theophylline and itraconazole, are known to be substrates of CYP3A. When given with grapefruit juice in pharmacokinetic studies their availability increases. In most cases, the clinical consequence of the pharmacokinetic interaction has not been evaluated. However, for midazolam and triazolam, as well as for buspirone, impairment of CNS function was observed, and for the calcium channel blocker felodipine greater blood pressure lowering has been observed.
I read a few patient comments and some did have a stroke after taking itraconazole. Some had been on meds but not all. I think it may be rare complication of the drug. Whether this is why he got a stroke is unknown for sure. I know this doesn't help much but that is all I could find on it.
This morning the pain is still there as is some slight nausea though I was able to eat something. Does anyone know of drug interactions between Anacin and Progesterone? Is there something else it could be?
