isentress

Avatar m tn Hi, after being exposed to HIV 15 days ago, I'm on day 14 of PEP (Truvada & Isentress). I wonder if facial lipoatrophy (sunken cheeks, temples, eyes, etc) can develop as early as two weeks of being taking these meds. I'm a male model and I make a living of my face. Last week I was fired from 3 photo-shoots in a row. I don't know if I'm really experiencing facial fat waste, or if my face just reflects all the emotional distress I've been through for the past 2 weeks.
Avatar m tn should I take Isentress again at 7;30 am so that I maintain the 7:30am/7:30pm timeline for Isentress? The pharmacist and lots of online resources stressed the importance of taking the pills on time each time.
Avatar m tn I had a risk exposure and had a base hiv test 4th gen ab/ag 25 hours after pep or after 2 truvadas and 3 isentress. Could this affect the negative result of the base test? Is the base test considered conclusive? The only risk exposure is no longer since the other party hiv test was negative and the exposure was low risk. Thanks for your help...
Avatar m tn m taking Truvada and Isentress for the last 17 days and today I got another possible exposure in the form of a needle stick injury, ive been so stressed I have not be able to work correctly and now have a panicing fear of hiv thinking I will step on needles or be stuck by some crazy person walking in the street.
Avatar f tn This is a patient-to-patient support forum, and it's best advised to stay away from urging others to take prescription medication. That's a decision best handled between a licensed physician and the patient. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of. My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.
Avatar m tn I took the Truvada 16 hours post exposure and the isentress at 34 post exposure. I take the truvada at 530pm every day and the isentress at 830 am and pm. Is it ok that im not taking them at the same time?
Avatar f tn PEP is very effective - it should be three drugs -- typically two medications Truvada + Isentress. Mass had a 2 year study where no one on PEP got infected.

Avatar f tn Yesterday after aliquoting a serum sample in a glass tube, I put a plastic cap on the tube and the glass tube containing the patient sample broke while I was capping it, cutting my right thumb. The glass tube had a HIV+ serum sample in it. Employee Health told me the patient is HIV+ and I was put on Truvada, and Isentress for PEP. I took the medicines after around 2 hours of the incident at the employee Health clinic. My questions are: 1)How high were my risks?
Avatar m tn Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?
2195245 tn?1338428182 Hi Claire, Thanks for your response. The medication that I would like to see added in the future is called Isentress. It is a relatively new antiretroviral that is now being prescribed a lot. Take care.
Avatar n tn I recently asked a quesrion regarding a patient with a small rectal cancer that could have been treated with radiation, but the radiologist consulted with does not recommend radiation as the patient had a cobalt implant 40 years ago for cervical cancer & thinks she has had too much radiation. She is 79 years old & NEEDS TO KNOW if there is another way to treat it without surgery requiring a colostomy.
5954444 tn?1377473390 Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates). At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night, than every other night and then none.
Avatar f tn After body has immuno response, such as produce antibody and huge amount of hiv specific killer T-cells, CD4 will have slightly increase, but CD8 has more significantly increase. Positive patient has CD4/CD8 ratio <1.

Avatar m tn ll be the instance of acquiring HIV with such superficial and brief possible penetration. I began PEP treatment (Truvada and Isentress) within 48 hours. He never ejaculated throughout the night and I didn't feel pre cum at any time but I know that doesn't mean pre cum wasn't there. Am I at potential risk for HIV transmission given he fingered me and may have caused potential tiny cuts combined with the brief/minimal possibility of penetration?
Avatar m tn I went to my doctor and told him how concerned I was and he agreed to start me of PEP a combination of truvada and isentress. And being the worrier that I am I am now worried about the side effects of the medication. Can someone please help me. Thank you!
408795 tn?1324935675 Although not as specific, it contain much of the same information and is readily available to the patient and the doctor. This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.
Avatar m tn I panicked and 13 hours later I was at a clinic where I received PEP (Tenvir which is the same as Truvada and Isentress). The doctor told me to take Tenvir once a day for 30 days and Isentress twice a day for 30 days, I want to know what is my risk of exposure to HIV, and did my risk require PEP? Does PEP lower my risk to 0? Do I need to finish my PEP treatment?
