should I take Isentress again at 7;30 am so that I maintain the 7:30am/7:30pm timeline for Isentress? The pharmacist and lots of online resources stressed the importance of taking the pills on time each time.
My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.
Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?
I had a risk exposure and had a base hiv test 4th gen ab/ag 25 hours after pep or after 2 truvadas and 3 isentress. Could this affect the negative result of the base test? Is the base test considered conclusive? The only risk exposure is no longer since the other party hiv test was negative and the exposure was low risk.

Hi, after being exposed to HIV 15 days ago, I'm on day 14 of PEP (Truvada & Isentress). I wonder if facial lipoatrophy (sunken cheeks, temples, eyes, etc) can develop as early as two weeks of being taking these meds. I'm a male model and I make a living of my face. Last week I was fired from 3 photo-shoots in a row. I don't know if I'm really experiencing facial fat waste, or if my face just reflects all the emotional distress I've been through for the past 2 weeks.
I’ve been given a prep regime for 28 days consisting of truvada and isentress. I have 17 days left I have been having pain that started in my ankle and is now in my legs and my back feels very uncomfortable feels like my kidneys are dry they feel irritated at least in the lower back where they are located my muscles are weak and ackey feels like ive been waling for many many miles but I have been home sitting around for a few days.

I was given pep for 28 days isentress and truvada side effects were pin sensations all over my body and the muscles in my legs dissolved. almost a year later I have hypersensitive feet pins and needle feeling in my feet and lower legs and pain in my toes as well pain in my legs. I thought when you stop this medication these symptoms go away how long can they stay because I feel like they are getting worse and not better.
I was helping a person that sliped in the snow a few weeks ago on my way to get a sandwich I noticed my eyes were tearing so I started to wipe my eye and later noticed there was blood on my hand and face so I thought I must have gotten in my eye I was given pep to help have been taking isentress and truvada given from id department in New York Metropolitan Hospital
PEP is very effective - it should be three drugs -- typically two medications Truvada + Isentress. Mass had a 2 year study where no one on PEP got infected.
I began taking truvada and isentress 65 hours after my potential exposure to HIV and I have taken them for 4 days. But I did not take them at the exact same time everyday. But I am sure I was never late or early by more than 1 hour. Will the effectiveness get affected by this? And is 65 hours too late for PEP? How likely will PEP fail in my case???
Your question is a good one as there are many medication interactions which can make drugs work less well or increase the risk of side effects. Fortunately, these are not common for most of the drugs used for PEP. there are no interactions I am aware of between Prozac and the medications you mention.
Parenthetically, one way to minimize the likelihood that uncommon medication interactions is to make sure that you are using the same pharmacy to get your prescriptions filled.
PEP is an VERY good idea. Please - if you can ask for Truvada + Isentress. These two are the standard treatment in US and UK. They are very well tolerated.
m living in another country, it was so hard to get the Pep medication. After several hours going from a hospital to another, I finally could get a Truvada pill in the very deadline limit of the treatment, probably between the 72nd and 74th hour after the sex.
I was quite desperate and I felt that the staff in this hospital wasn't too much prepared to take cases like mine with HIV risk envolved. It took too many hours, even though I tried to explain them the gravity about this situation.
m taking Truvada and Isentress for the last 17 days and today I got another possible exposure in the form of a needle stick injury, ive been so stressed I have not be able to work correctly and now have a panicing fear of hiv thinking I will step on needles or be stuck by some crazy person walking in the street.
Upon sobering up the next day I panicked and went to the Bumrungrad International Hospital to see a doctor. He proscribed an HIV PEP regimen of Isentress and Truveda which I have been taking now for 8 days. I have experienced some diarrhoea and stomach problems. I have felt fatigued, but this could be attributed to jet lag. I am back in Canada now. I accepted the medication without thinking much about it, but since getting home and researching this medicine I am starting to have some questions.
