I just came off tramadol. The withdrawl process is insanely horrible. Not trying to scare you but it is. Tramadol is highly addictive. I'm on day 13 and feeling so much better finally. Good luck! Please don't do if cold turkey, you can have seizures.
So they have in ropinirole (I forgot how to spell it) but 1mg doesn't seem to be working. :( what other meds can I request?
I have been taken Ropinirole for sometime now and it helps a little. As for sleep,I get very little of.
I'm glad you found something that worked. RLS was the worst for me too. Ropinirole is sold in the US as Requip. It was originally prescribed for Parkinson' Disease and then it was discovered that it works for RLS. Keep going forward. It will be over soon.
Hi, I take Ropinirole (Requip), and this mefication over the years has worked really well. But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.
I have been taking Ambien for 5 years now and take anywhere from 20-30mg, plus Lamotrigine for Depression, Ropinirole for RLS, and a few others. The Ambien does not work well for me anymore and this past month my insomnia has escalated. In addition to the RLS I have body jolts, hallucinations while I'm falling asleep, and these electrical zapping sensations throughout my body.
I then called Wyth (the manufacturer) and they full addmitted that since thier initial trials they have found out that although they do not meet the criteria under FDA standards, in fact they do have severe withdrawal symptoms and could be considered addictive, that is if they got you high. They say they have added large warnings not to stop taking them all at once and to taper off, as well as some of the symptoms associated with stopping all at once.Indeed they have.
Yes, Ultram, or Tramadol( its generic name) is addictive. It contains a synthetic opiate, that is the problem. I don't know much about withdrawals I have been taking it about more than a year now, but not more than 2 pills a day, sometimes only one, sometimes none . It wasn't until I found this site that I realized it was an opiate, I freaked out, now I take it less often and planning on going cold turkey in this month.
t say how much Tram you take daily, but to answer your question, yes, Tram is just as habit forming or addictive as any other opiate. It is a synthetic opiate and does give the euphoric feelings as well. That's how some wind up abusing it. Were you taking more than what was prescribed, or did you just run out and had to wait for your refill? That's usually when we find out if we have a problem or not. (Running out early).

THanks for the advise. I don't get how xanex is addictive??? and what is Benzo? Is it addictive to anyone? I have known people who like it (xanex) but I have NEVER liked the feeling it gives me. It just makes me tierd and calm (which I don't like to be and don't have time to be w/ 5 kids, so it has just helped w/ the anxiety. Do you think maybe people that like to be super relaxed get addicted or just anyone. I took 1mg for a couple days and .25mg the last few days.
I was dx with RLS after feeling like my legs had a mind of their own....ropinirole 2x a day.
